Hi all,
Just following on from the previous thread - apologies if anyone else has already started one.
Sent our renewal claim in, scan date middle of May.
Phoned on Thursday and was told that our claim had been renewed on 18 August, awarded the same as previous - HRC and LRM. Such a relief for it to be all sorted out.

@LisaGog Did you ring them x

LisaGog · 13/09/2022 10:23

I did! I was off the phone by 9.15am, so I'd definitely recommend calling early. The lady on the phone said they are working up to the 17th and DS's case is now with the decision maker, and she's added a note to send me a text message once the decision is made. She also advised me to phone them once I receive the text message for more information if an award is made / not made.

legs19 · 13/09/2022 10:29

@LisaGog Am on hold to them now again am going to ask them to send me a txt message

legs19 · 13/09/2022 12:15

@LisaGog She put me down to get a txt message as well she said there was on a note on saying it was urgent so hopefully not to much longer

Oilytoe90 · 13/09/2022 12:37

LisaGog · 13/09/2022 18:24

We've just had the same text to say DS has been awarded! Such a relief, it doesn't take long when it is with the DM then... now to ring at 9am tomorrow to find out what the award is.

Thanks for the thread, it's been keeping me sane with all this waiting!

@Oilytoe90 i think you had the same scan date as me. So it’s another week longer than what they told me two weeks ago. I’ve been pretty patient but I just want to know now.

Is anyone calling or called today?

LisaGog · 14/09/2022 12:18

Hi everyone,

I phoned today to find out DS's award. He has been awarded LRC, but no mobility. I'm grateful that he has been awarded because I know so many people get rejected and then have to appeal. I've thought about it this morning, and I think I should do mandatory reconsideration. I believe he should at the very least get LRM, and possibly MRC.

DS is 8 and he is diagnosed with ASD and also has suspected ADHD, which is is currently waiting for an assessment for. DS has no issues walking, but its behaviourally where the difficulties are. DS cannot walk next to anyone at their pace, he constantly runs, jumps, skips, leaps over obstacles, flails around. This leads to him hurting himself a lot. He has no awareness of dangers like the road or bumping into people or things... He needs to be constantly told to walk, or I have to physically hold his hand (whilst he tries his best to resist). He also cannot follow instructions as he just seems to 'forget' what you have said, so he can't follow directions or navigate around somewhere without an adults help. He has no stranger danger, would happily chat to and play with random adults at parks for example. So I think it's a bit strange he didn't get mobility, it's almost as though they just saw the tick boxes (can walk over 200m in less than a minute) but didn't actually read what I'd put...

What do you guys think?
