Hi All,

I have ASD 2 years old boy and i sent DLA form for him in 7 dec 2021. But I haven’t received any news yet. How long is usually you get awarded?

The thing is i want to put my son in 2 years old nursery but i’m not eligible for 2 years old funding. I found the nursery that i like and my son can start there after easter but they want funding from the government.

There are another way to get funded by government is via DLA. I need to get the DLA first then i can apply for funding 2 years old in nursery. Do you know how is the process for apply funding 2 years old through DLA route??

Thank you

Oh my that's a quick decision for your friend by all accounts.
My Son's form was received 17th February and I wasn't really expecting to hear anything until the end of this month.
Great news for your friend.

I know I couldn't believe it after following this thread for so long. I had to create a username to let you all know! Very quick. After she called I checked my bank but nothing. I will continue the waiting game. X

Wilzo235 · 13/04/2022 09:13

PuddlePip · 13/04/2022 09:19

@Victoriacf1984 I've woken up to a backpayment, he's been awarded the HRM. Can't believe it! I was expecting a fight, over the moon for him. Life is going to be so much less stressful for him

Mum2Two91 · 13/04/2022 10:00

Absolutely made up for you@PuddlePip! May I ask was this a COC? I can’t remember what you said.

PuddlePip · 13/04/2022 11:38

@Mum2Two91 yes it was a COC :) so glad he's finally got what he's entitled to. Fingers crossed for everyone else still waiting

Needanewadventure2021 · 13/04/2022 12:56

My DS claim was received in February but after checking this thread back in March I've had to switch off because I was expecting seriously long delays. I'm shocked but delighted for you all that decisions are seeming to be made much quicker at the moment.

I'm about 7 weeks in now from when his was received. I was going to call for an update but I'm going to hold off abit

I have been waiting on a change of circumstances form since 09 March. Every time I phone to find out what is happening with it they keep telling me it takes 7-10 working days to arrive and to check my mail. Finally spoke to a really helpful advisor on Monday who told me he would be in the office the next day and would post the form out to me and he phoned me yesterday to say he had sent it. I am hoping I will finally get it. I believe my son should be in receipt of the mobility part as he needs complete supervision outdoors and always has. I should have requested a mandatory reconsideration when he was first awarded so is partly my fault. I am really struggling with my DS, any extra help would be great as feel I really need to look into some sort of respite care.

Momof2soonmomto3 · 14/04/2022 10:56

My claim for DLA for my DS was received on the 19th Feb I had a letter today to say sorry about the delay, thought I'd post my updates on here too as I know the wait can be long and agonizing :( has anyone recieved mobility for their child just before they turned 3? My son turns 3 in may and he can walk but like most ASD children, he's unpredictable and needs very close attention outside and get over whelmed very easily in crowds and needs either a stroller or on good days reins

Imitatingdory · 14/04/2022 11:00

Momof2soonmomto3 mobility cannot be awarded before 3 for HRM and 5 for LRM.

Mummyof6kids · 14/04/2022 14:16

RobynC19 · 14/04/2022 14:33
