Hello, my forms for DLA (for my son aged 5 with ASD & GDD) were received and put on someone desks on 26th August. This Thursday will be eight weeks exactly and I’m starting to panic a little anyone want to wait with me for their replies?

Ljaj · 12/01/2022 19:00

Been on the phone 43 minutes exactly could not do anymore .Now could kick myself as the lady said end of this week I should hear something and I promised myself I wouldn’t ring 🤦🏻‍♀️

4andapup · 12/01/2022 19:31

It's so difficult to wait isn't it and not call! I called lots 😂 Fingers crossed for you! X

Ljaj · 12/01/2022 19:43

@4andapup I know and Thankyou …. She did say end of this week last Wednesday so I shouldn’t really ring until next week but I thought I’d try to no avail ..🤷🏻‍♀️

Ljaj · 13/01/2022 14:59

Here again 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’ve rang again as last week was told should hear by the end of the week . The man was nice he asked for confirmation who I was and all that then went on to ask my sort code which I have never been asked but maybe that was just wishful thinking what was going through my mind anyway he said there working up to the 1st Nov now so should hear very soon or maybe next week now 🤦🏻‍♀️

Conspiracyornotr · 14/01/2022 09:17

@Ljaj I was asked my sort code too when I rang the other day lucky i had it with me

Ljaj · 15/01/2022 09:13

@Conspiracyornotr when did you send you forms in ?

Conspiracyornotr · 15/01/2022 10:45

Was forms was received in November 6th or 9th not 100 percent. @Ljaj when did u send yours x

Ljaj · 15/01/2022 11:50

Mine was stamped at 1 November so we’re both close . They said they were dealing with dates up to 1 November so yours should be this week coming x

Conspiracyornotr · 15/01/2022 12:25

@Ljaj have you heard anything back ? Yes the wait is killing me I have only rang up 1 time x

Ljaj · 15/01/2022 15:19

No not heard anything he said either end of last week or early next week but the lady on the phone 2 week ago said I should hear by end of last week hating the wait …. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Conspiracyornotr · 15/01/2022 19:09

Did u send in any extra stuff assessment etc xx

Ljaj · 15/01/2022 23:10

No nothing 😬😞

4andapup · 16/01/2022 08:38

Don't be afraid to call and ask to chase up your claim. I'm glad I did as I called last Friday morning and a decision hadn't been made then they made a decision that afternoon! I didn't get the letter until a week later so if I hadn't have called on Monday to check again, I would have had an extra week of the agonising wait. Even if it's not good news (fingers crossed for you all) at least you can get the ball rolling with the mandotary reconsideration! From past experience (I sent nothing and was denied because of this) send as much evidence as you can, even screenshots of messages from teachers, anything relating to your child. Appointment letters even if it's not happened yet etc. And if you're still waiting to hear, still send them now! I wish I did but I just thought they would be looking soon so didn't bother and my child's claim was rejected because there was not enough evidence to back up what I had said on my form.
So for me it's another 4-6 weeks wait to see if it's enough 😬
Wishing you all lots of luck 🤞 Hope you hear really soon and it's the outcome you need xx

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 16/01/2022 09:05

Aw @4andapup I’m really praying you get good news. I have a sister who works in benefit appeals (from the other side, she’s a lawyer and has 100% success rate) so if you have any questions I can always ask her for you! :)

4andapup · 16/01/2022 10:25

Thank you so much @pugsnotdrugs101 I really appreciate it! It's just really frustrating as when I sent off my evidence for the MR it's clear how much my DC meets all the criteria! I'm just hoping I've done enough now and they can see what I've written on the form backed up with evidence 🤞 I will keep you all updated!
Good luck everyone xx

looneylou201 · 16/01/2022 15:54

Hi everyone .. finally sending off ds application have been waiting for an ehcp decision so now we have that it's getting sent! He has medical and learning needs just wondering what I should send to evidence the application? So far I have report from SALT
Medical report from a paed
Neuropsychological report
Copy of his IEP
Copy of his EHCP
A consultation letter explaining his medical condition we were given at birth
Anything else anyone can think of?

Ljaj · 17/01/2022 11:39

Just rand AGAIN and he said mine was the last day there working up to at the mom et and he said it’s with the decision maker so should be this week . He looked and said no information or any problem with it 🤷🏻‍♀️ What ever this means but yes so waiting game still .

Conspiracyornotr · 17/01/2022 16:12

That's good

Conspiracyornotr · 18/01/2022 10:00

@4andapup do they put why the reject claims I'm just curious am waiting on a decision. Also how long did you wait to hear ? Sorry you didn't get the news you wanted have you sent off appeal ?

4andapup · 18/01/2022 10:08

Hi! No they didn't mention on the letter why the rejected it. Just a generic rejection letter came out. It was when I called they went through the points, you can call and ask for a written copy too but I started my mandotary reconsideration there on the phone with a lovely lady who was very helpful. They stamped my forms on 25th October and made a decision late on 6th January xx

4andapup · 18/01/2022 10:09

She said another 4-6 weeks for me to hear now! Kicking myself I didn't send the evidence at the time, what a wally! 😂 Fingers crossed for all of us, the wait is terrible xx

Conspiracyornotr · 18/01/2022 10:13

@4andapup it's crazy some.people can get without any trouble it must be the wording or who's desk it lands on but seems unfair . My child is up til.past 2 am in the morning his behaviour is the same at home and school I hope I don't get rejected I have had to leave my job and school and now wanting to reduce his hours making it impossible for me to have half day at work x life is stressful enough without having all this deciding about weather are child is entitled to have this or not. How long do u get to appeal ?x

4andapup · 18/01/2022 11:40

Yes I feel your pain, my DC doesn't sleep and is up and down all night. It's exhausting isn't it. I wish the claim handlers could have a day with our children, then we would all get high rate 🤣
I think it's 13 months since the decision? 🤔 But if it's not done within a month then it goes from the date you make the appeal rather than the original date you'll be working on now. Do you not feel positive you'll get it? Xx

Ljaj · 18/01/2022 13:31

REJECTED 🙅🏻‍♀️
