Hello, my forms for DLA (for my son aged 5 with ASD & GDD) were received and put on someone desks on 26th August. This Thursday will be eight weeks exactly and I’m starting to panic a little anyone want to wait with me for their replies?

@4andapup wow that's great news happy for you hopefully I hear soon xx

CoffeeFirstPlease · 14/02/2022 20:18

I just received the 'sorry for the delay' letter today my forms was received on the 21.12 so I reckon still another 3/4wks minimum. I highly doubt I'm going to get it though wish they wasn't taking so long.

Ljaj · 15/02/2022 11:58

@CoffeeFirstPlease did you send in any evidence at all ? X

CoffeeFirstPlease · 15/02/2022 12:28

@Ljaj yes I sent evidence in two weeks ago only a school report and art therapist wrote something too and the letter saying she will be reffered to be assessed by someone but no diagnosis or anything I don't really feel like it will be enough

Ljaj · 15/02/2022 19:50

I didn’t send anything myself now I’m waiting on a reconsideration.Got a letter from school this time as all the appointments are tied up with covid but what we are found through started when little one was 3 she’s now 8 and school noticed the problems since she was 6 why do we have to fight like this is beyond me xx

Sunnyshine12121 · 15/02/2022 21:58

@Ljaj I still have heard anything x when did you send if you mandatory hun x

4andapup · 16/02/2022 07:30

If it's been more than 3 weeks then don't be afraid to call up. My decision was made last Thursday and I still don't have a letter! Xx

Ljaj · 16/02/2022 09:13

I started mine on the 25/01/2022 but didn’t receive my evidence until a week after xx

4andapup · 16/02/2022 13:16

They told me the wait is from when you first start the MR not when the evidence is received so may be worth a call, best time I found is 9am on the dot and you get through straight away. Good luck everyone xx

Ljaj · 16/02/2022 14:27

Phoned today and we have QUALIFIED high rate care low mobility !
Thankyou for all your support .
Good luck to everyone x

4andapup · 16/02/2022 15:11

That's amazing!! I'm so happy for you ❤️ don't forget to apply for carers allowance online and update your tax credits or universal credit if you get it! We've had a pain with the backdating to the start of the award so check and double check they've done this! Woooo hooooo! And relax!! Xx

Ljaj · 16/02/2022 18:02

I can’t get carers as we work but I haven’t received the letter now so what happens with universal credit ? And Thankyou so much what a relief as I wasn’t going to go ahead at fort with the mr x

CoffeeFirstPlease · 16/02/2022 18:24

Aww so happy for you @Ljaj that is so amazing! Can I ask if you have had your diagnosis? I can't remember if you said that you had or not?

Ljaj · 16/02/2022 19:13

On One condition the rest are awaiting on appointments xxx

Sunnyshine12121 · 16/02/2022 21:09

@Ljaj wow that's great news mine was the 27th omg I am so scared what information did you send in hun xx to worried to call about it

Sunnyshine12121 · 16/02/2022 21:25

@Ljaj also if you don't mind me asking whats the conditions you child is being assessed for hun we are awaiting assessment for ads but my son has other issues aswell x

Polly421 · 16/02/2022 21:26

@Ljaj if you update Universal credits to say your child is now in receipt of DLA under change of circumstances and input date it been awarded from they will add the disability element to your claim. HRC gives you just over £400 extra per month and you can request in your journal for them to send it to decision marker to have the extra element backdated. I just stated I was late in updating them simply because it took month for claim to be awarded so couldn’t tell them something that wasn’t decided yet. I did it start of December and was given lump some just before the new year.
I’m glad your child award has finally been sorted.

Ljaj · 16/02/2022 22:55

@Polly421 I will do that Thankyou so much for you information.

4andapup · 23/02/2022 20:46

Has anyone recently applied for carers allowance? I applied online on 14th Feb and wondered if anyone knows how long the wait is at the moment?
I wasn't sure I would qualify but I'm self employed and covid hit me hard so I'm in the bracket 🤞 xx

Ljaj · 24/02/2022 09:29

Sunnyshine12121 · 24/02/2022 13:28
