Hello, my forms for DLA (for my son aged 5 with ASD & GDD) were received and put on someone desks on 26th August. This Thursday will be eight weeks exactly and I’m starting to panic a little anyone want to wait with me for their replies?

@Pugsnotdrugs101, omg 12 weeks already and you still not had an outcome?, that is terrible!!! I will keep my fingers crossed for you that you get an answer very soon, and I shall just prepare myself to wait another 4 weeks then 😩, be glad just to know either way so I’m not constantly wondering, good luck though x

Ljaj · 10/01/2022 18:09

@Myfab421 yes it’s a long process isn’t it x

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 10/01/2022 18:11

TheLandBeforeRhyme · 10/01/2022 19:10

@Pugsnotdrugs101 that’s brilliant! The money will probably be in your bank within a few days; you’ll then be able to divide it by the number of weeks you’ve waited to work out the rates Smile

Polly421 · 10/01/2022 19:15
@4andapup I honestly don’t think I will as my daughter doesn’t have an official diagnosis yet so they only have my word to go on! But I just want to know so I can at least appeal and say I’ve given it my all if that makes sense. The not knowing is driving me crazy :(
Hi lovely, have you still not heard?? Honestly I didn’t think I sent enough, all I sent was her psychologist report and her appointment letters. I honestly didn’t think I wrote enough either because I didn’t like talking about her like that.
I saw people on here sent pages and pages I thought I had no chance.
My daughter got her official diagnosis on 13 dec. They made notes on the system I didn’t send any forms and I was awarded high rate.
They said the evidence they used was the report.
I think you will be fine. Good luck x

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 11/01/2022 08:15

@Stacylouise14 I had a text yesterday eve saying my daughter qualifies :)

4andapup · 11/01/2022 09:47

Hi everyone, not good news for me as our claim was denied! It's my own fault as I didn't send in any evidence stupidly. I've just got the ball rolling on a mandatory reconsideration and I am about to send every single email, letter, report I have and hope for the best!
Good luck everyone xx

Myfab421 · 11/01/2022 10:06

@4andapup oh sorry to hear you have been denied, but hopefully when you send all of your evidence off you will be awarded, good luck!!
How long have you been waiting for a decision to be made? X

4andapup · 11/01/2022 10:22

Thank you! I've just gone through all our letters, daily emails with school and the diagnosis report and feel really stupid for not sending them earlier! But by the time we had the diagnostic report it was already 7 weeks since I applied so thought it may be too late!
They got my forms on 25th October and made the decision on Friday, apparently I should get a letter soon but I called this morning just to check and they told me over the phone 😔 x

Myfab421 · 11/01/2022 10:45

@4andapup well don’t beat yourself up over it, at the end of the day you only human and sometimes our lives are hectic enough without all the added pressure, sounds like you know what the next step is so I wish you all the luck and hope that you won’t have such another long wait 😒, you got this keep going x

4andapup · 11/01/2022 10:53

Thank you, I will definitely keep going as I know he qualifies, it's just proving it now!
Does anyone know if we win on the mandotary reconsideration, will it still be backdated from the day I called up for the form? Makes me sick to think of potentially over 4. 5 months of back payment gone! X

ASDmummy2019 · 11/01/2022 15:05

@4andapup Hi just wanted to let you know I was in a similar position, I’d only sent in the paediatrician letter as that’s all we’d had at the time. They told me I hadn’t sent enough evidence and that there were no follow up appointments (which it clearly said on the letter he was waiting to be seen by OT, SALT and he’d seen DS again in 6 months 🙄) so I did I covering letter with my MR pointing out all the bits I didn’t agree with, sent all my letters, emails etc from anything to do with his referrals and we were lucky enough to have started seeing Portage and they lovely lady wrote me a coving letter. From it being scanned onto their system it took 4 weeks and had a payment in my account with the full backdated amount from when I’d first sent my claim.
Hope this helps and fingers crossed for you xx
