Hello, my forms for DLA (for my son aged 5 with ASD & GDD) were received and put on someone desks on 26th August. This Thursday will be eight weeks exactly and I’m starting to panic a little anyone want to wait with me for their replies?

@Pix1985
You are around 1 week infront of us then, hopefully we'll have our decisions soon. Did they send you a letter saying 'We are sorry we have not yet made a decision.'?

Pix1985 · 03/11/2021 15:38

@Sambysamba yes I did. I asked if I would get text notification as I have been receiving texts but they said it depends if the decision maker has facilities too.

Some people weeks after me have been receiving decisions, they reckon it depends which persons desk you land on. ☹️. I’ve switched from working tax/child tax to universal and need to hand in the final things for calculations by 6th Nov so getting nervous now.

Sambysamba · 05/11/2021 12:34

Any news for you @Pix1985?
I hope its sorted in time for you!

Pix1985 · 05/11/2021 13:37

Thanks @Sambysamba. I spoke to hmrc today and finalised it but will ring back if and when it’s been awarded.

Pix1985 · 09/11/2021 09:30

Yayyy just spoke to DLA and my son has been awarded HRC and LM yesterday which is what I was expecting.

Sambysamba · 09/11/2021 12:32

Aww chuffed for you! We got rejected so having to do mandatory consideration, can't understand when he has been diagnosed with asd and severe adhd. He doesn't even attend mainstream school. Angry

Pix1985 · 09/11/2021 13:06

@Sambysamba sorry to hear that, did you send any proof?

My son is adhd and is currently waiting for his panel assessment for autism

Sambysamba · 09/11/2021 13:11

I didn't its my own fault really!
Can I ask what evidence you sent in?

Sambysamba · 09/11/2021 13:12

I just assumed they would contact the relevant people and get confirmation etc

Luckers1102 · 17/11/2021 23:07

Hello, hope you don't mind me joining, these Mumsnet threads have helped me so much with this DLA claim ao I want to do the same
for other mums 😊

So little background story:

I have sent my new claim form off yesterday for my little boy (6)
He has an EHCP in place so I sent that as evidence.. I didn't want to send the Ed Psych report and others ones in as they contain personal information about me too which I didn't really want to share with the DWP. He has been diagnosed with Autism but I'm still waiting for an official report/letter stating this. He's been put forward for ADHD assessment but I'm waiting for that still
I am hoping the EHCP will be enough evidence (it's 24 pages long so I bloody hope so 😂). Could anyone confirm/deny this at all please?

Will keep you all posted with updates ☺️

Pix1985 · 18/11/2021 07:35

@Sambysamba apologies I never got notified of your message.

I sent the IEP plan, and letters from the 1st doctors appointment which was also sent to the GP and outlined what was wrong with him and teachers

Have you heard anything?

ToughTittyWhompus · 23/11/2021 09:41

I’m waiting too - received on 6th October.

Polly421 · 23/11/2021 13:53

They received our claim form on 14/09/2021 and I called today as that was 10 weeks mark and I was told my daughter has been aware HRC. It was awarded on Saturday.

Raisingthenoodles · 24/11/2021 10:38

Sorry for not replying sooner but this month has gone away from me!

Finally heard something on 27th of October receiving both the letter stating they are dealing with my claim and a text message saying my son would be awarded DLA. He gets HRC and LRM with the backdated amount falling into my account five days later!

Sprogonthetyne · 03/12/2021 13:00

Great news Jneill2021.

I'm about a week behind you (received 5th October), and just go the letter saying "sorry we haven't made a decision yet", hopefully won't be to much longer.

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 10/12/2021 12:31

Hello everyone! My forms were recieved on the 18th October and I recieved a letter today saying ‘sorry we haven’t made a decision yet, wait a bit longer etc’. I’ve rang a couple times for different reasons and been told 9 weeks, 11 weeks and then 10 weeks lol. I’m pretty certain my claim will be rejected as don’t have an official diagnosis yet but just want to hear so I can get the ball rolling with mandatory reconsideration as that’s a long process so I’ve heard :(

TheLandBeforeRhyme · 12/12/2021 13:11

@Pugsnotdrugs101 my forms were received a week after yours. Have you heard anything else yet?

I was hoping to hear this month but it’s unlikely now Sad

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 12/12/2021 13:48

@TheLandBeforeRhyme nothing yet! Will update you when I hear. To be honest I’m not expecting to hear before January but I’m fully expecting to appeal so just want to know so I can crack on lol! I’m going to ring tomorrow as I sent in some extra info so will ask again on waiting times and let you know! :)

TheLandBeforeRhyme · 12/12/2021 14:06

I also think it will be January but it should be early January even at a 10 week wait Smile

TheLandBeforeRhyme · 12/12/2021 14:07

I hope you hear soon. The waiting is awful.

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 12/12/2021 17:48

It is isn’t it! Fingers crossed for us both! Smile

Sprogonthetyne · 13/12/2021 10:39

I got a decision! DS has been awarded middle rate care and lower rate mobility, which is what we were hoping for. My form was received on the 5th October, so just under 10 weeks.
