Hello, my forms for DLA (for my son aged 5 with ASD & GDD) were received and put on someone desks on 26th August. This Thursday will be eight weeks exactly and I’m starting to panic a little anyone want to wait with me for their replies?

@BitcherOfBlakiven try ringing dead on 9, I’ve normally got through within 15 mins. Any other time of the day I’ve been on hold for an hour plus!

Stacylouise14 · 31/12/2021 08:14

I received mine today, not sure if it’s middle rate with lm or hr with no mobility. Will wait for the letter.
Iv seen people say they contact UC to get payments backdated?
How do I do this?

Thanks

Polly421 · 31/12/2021 09:54

@Stacylouise14 once you know the rate do a change of circumstances under the who lives with you section and it will ask if you child is on DLA input the rate and change from when your DLA is backdated to. They will see it’s a late change but write in your journal a message saying you want payment backdated as you couldn’t tell them earlier as just found out you’ve been awarded. They will send it to decision marker who should then backdate it. Mines went to decision marker on 3rd of December and I got the backdated payment today. They paid me the extra amount straight away in my December payment but backdated amount for last 4 months took little longer.

Thanks so much. I haven’t a clue with all this. I would have just left it if I hadn’t of seen people’s previous posts ha. So glad you got yours sorted x

Polly421 · 31/12/2021 15:53

@Stacylouise14 no problem I didn’t know either until was awarded and seen a post in group about it. Depending on what care rate you get it can add either like around £130 or £400 a month if you’ve received HRC x x

Can DLA tel you over the phone if a decision has been made? I could of sworn the lady on the phone said it’s with a decision maker but not able to tell you over the phone if a decision has been made? Unless I miss heard her!

Polly421 · 31/12/2021 17:39

@Pugsnotdrugs101 I was told over the phone that a decision was made and lady went through the award over the phone with me.

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 31/12/2021 18:18

@Polly421 ah okay thank you! She said it’s with a decision maker but can’t tell if they’re looking at it right now or if it’s in their pile. They open again on the 4th so going to ring then and see if a decision has been made! :)

Oh I got a letter on 4-11-2021 saying my forms was received on the 1-11-2021 .
Then got a letter on 19-12-2021 saying sorry it’s taking so long I REALLLY don’t want to ring anyone on similar dates to me ?

BitcherOfBlakiven · 03/01/2022 07:50

Mine were received 16th October. I’ve not even had the sorry letter…

Ljaj · 03/01/2022 11:03

@BitcherOfBlakiven really ?? I’m just wondering then if it is really true who’s desk it actually lands on when your forms get looked at .

BitcherOfBlakiven · 03/01/2022 11:17

I got a text to say it had been received, nothing since. It’s very annoying.

PuddlePip · 03/01/2022 11:19

I've seen other people say the sorry letter is an automatic thing at 8 weeks, though I got that letter at around 6 weeks. My forms were received 10 weeks ago today but with the bank Holidays I imagine my real 10 weeks will be in a week or two. Fingers crossed for you all

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 03/01/2022 11:48

@BitcherOfBlakiven I would ring tomorrow and ask for an update! :)

TheLandBeforeRhyme · 03/01/2022 13:00

@PuddlePip my forms were received the day after yours Smile I’ve been waiting 10 weeks tomorrow . I’m expecting a decision by the 18th January (fingers crossed!). Please do keep us updated.

The waiting is awful. I could really do with the extra money this month too to pay for private SALT .

Ljaj · 03/01/2022 14:33

@TheLandBeforeRhyme is that the day after mine ?

TheLandBeforeRhyme · 03/01/2022 15:05

@Ljaj From the dates you’ve mentioned above, mine were received roughly a week before yours were. Mine were stamped on 26th October. Tomorrow is 10 weeks for me.

Ljaj · 03/01/2022 15:11

@TheLandBeforeRhyme I hope you get to hear sooner rather than later . 🤞

Ljaj · 03/01/2022 15:12

Yes I will definitely keep all updated . Nice to hear good news after as well . ☺️

Ljaj · 04/01/2022 09:52

Anyone braved the call today ? Are they still saying there behind been on 45 minutes then had to go out 😢

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 04/01/2022 12:49

@Ljaj I’m going to ring about 4pm so will let you know :)

Ljaj · 04/01/2022 13:37

@Pugsnotdrugs101 Thankyou fingers crossed for you .

TheLandBeforeRhyme · 04/01/2022 19:32

It’s 10 weeks today for me but I won’t call up until 12 weeks. I may call at 11 weeks if I’m too impatient Grin . Looking through the replies on here it seems to average at 10 weeks so I really hope it’s soon.

@Pugsnotdrugs101 Fingers crossed for you! I’m not far behind you.

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 04/01/2022 19:50

I called up today and she said I should have a decision any day now, hopefully within a week. I got THE NICEST lady ever on the phone, she was called sue I think and so friendly and helpful so I’m tempted to ask for her next time I cal back 😂😂

TheLandBeforeRhyme · 04/01/2022 20:01

@Pugsnotdrugs101 hopefully it won’t be much longer for you. You might receive the money in to your bank before you get the letter. Were your forms received on the 19th October? Did she mention what date they are working on?
