Hello, my forms for DLA (for my son aged 5 with ASD & GDD) were received and put on someone desks on 26th August. This Thursday will be eight weeks exactly and I’m starting to panic a little anyone want to wait with me for their replies?

@TheLandBeforeRhyme I’m really thinking I’m going to have to appeal as my daughter doesn’t have an official diagnosis yet, but I’m gonna ring again Friday to see if there’s any luck. My forms are with a decision maker, as of NYE they were working upto forms recieved upto 19th and mine was the 18th so hopefully not much longer!

TheLandBeforeRhyme · 04/01/2022 20:31

@Pugsnotdrugs101 don’t worry about having no diagnosis , it’s based on need. Did you send off evidence? If so, you’ll likely be awarded.

I wonder how quickly they go through the days. If they’re up to the 19th, it’s going to be at least another two weeks for me.

Ljaj · 04/01/2022 21:10

@Pugsnotdrugs101 that’s so nice to hear . Nothing worse than having someone arsey on the other end . When did you send yours in ? X

Ljaj · 04/01/2022 21:12

@Pugsnotdrugs101 just read back yours was the 18th sorry 😞 for asking again .

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 04/01/2022 21:39

@TheLandBeforeRhyme I sent: letters to show she has been under CAHMS previously, letter to show she’s now been refered to peadeatricians, statement from teacher, school SEN report and school attainment scores to show just now below level she’s working, a diary of an average day with her and a questionnaire (filled in) thah the doc sent me! Fingers crossed it’s enough! I’m really worried 😓

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 04/01/2022 21:39

@Ljaj that’s okay! Yes the 18th oct 🥰

Ljaj · 05/01/2022 09:51

Hello everyone I’ve just rang and the LOVELY SUE also answered my call and said it’s taking 10 weeks So it will be end of next week a decision will be made for my claim .
Forms received ( 1 November ) 🙏🤞

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 05/01/2022 13:46

@Ljaj aw I spoke to sue yesterday! She’s SO nice isn’t she! Hope you hear soon!

Ljaj · 05/01/2022 14:32

@Pugsnotdrugs101 yes she was lovely 😊 let’s hope we all get the out come we want 🤞

4andapup · 06/01/2022 15:14

Hi everyone! Thank you for this thread. I've been going mad waiting for my 8 year olds dla decision. He has autism and adhd (diagnosed after I sent the forms, recieved on 25th October)
I've called a few times but they're always so rude 'you've got a bit to wait yet OK?! Bye then.' 😳
Fingers crossed for us all!

TheLandBeforeRhyme · 06/01/2022 18:25

@4andapup our forms were received a day apart Smile . I’m hoping we hear soon. It’s been 10 weeks now.

I think we will have to wait at least another two weeks. @Pugsnotdrugs101 is before us and she is still waiting Sad

4andapup · 06/01/2022 18:52

Looks like it 😬 I want to call up and ask if I should send the diagnostic report over, they just took my word for it and I wonder if that'll go against me?! I didn't send any evidence either so not holding out much hope but just want to know either way!

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 06/01/2022 18:55

Mine were recieved 18th oct, I rang again today and she said they are working on forms recieved upto 25th oct, however mine has been with a decision maker a few days and still no answer! :( it’s taking forever x

4andapup · 06/01/2022 19:12

How frustrating! Hopefully not too much longer for you though. Are you hopeful you'll get it? X

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 06/01/2022 19:38

@4andapup I honestly don’t think I will as my daughter doesn’t have an official diagnosis yet so they only have my word to go on! But I just want to know so I can at least appeal and say I’ve given it my all if that makes sense. The not knowing is driving me crazy :(

TheLandBeforeRhyme · 06/01/2022 19:39

@Pugsnotdrugs101 they could be confirming information with some of the evidence you provided, or you may have landed on someone’s desk who is taking longer to process their forms. I hope you hear soon. The waiting is frustrating.

I hope after all of this time I don’t have to ask for an MR as that will take even longer Sad

TheLandBeforeRhyme · 06/01/2022 19:40

@Pugsnotdrugs101 from your pp you said you sent evidence; the lack of diagnosis is irrelevant , it’s the evidence that counts Smile.

Lots of people get DLA with no diagnosis.

4andapup · 06/01/2022 19:43

Yes I feel the same, my son wasn't diagnosed when I applied and although I feel I filled in the form well by making sure I had mentioned everything, I didn't send any evidence or get anyone to write on the form either 🤷‍♂️ I guess all we can do is wait!
It's frustrating as I've read on other sites that people that sent their forms after us have had back payments! X

4andapup · 06/01/2022 19:45

Yes absolutely, I wasn't worried about the lack of diagnosis as I've heard so often that DLA is based on care need rather than diagnosis. Don't give up hope yet @Pugsnotdrugs101

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 06/01/2022 19:59

@TheLandBeforeRhyme @4andapup thanks guys. Fingers crossed. Really praying it gets approved as want to go private for my daughter! Will keep you updated x

4andapup · 06/01/2022 20:22

I have everything crossed for you. The wait times are shocking at the best of times and now covid has pushed everything back again. We were told a 4 year wait, our son would have been on his way to high school by then! We went private recently and it was the best decision we made and less than I thought it would be too which is always a plus. Good luck everyone, I will keep you all updated too x

TheLandBeforeRhyme · 07/01/2022 06:27

I’ve had a payment in to my bank account this morning from DLA. I’m not sure what rate it is yet but it was exactly 10 weeks for a decision for me.

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 07/01/2022 07:46

@TheLandBeforeRhyme oh wow amazing well done! When were your forms recieved again?

4andapup · 07/01/2022 09:33

Yay!! That's amazing, well done 😊
When you're trying to work it out remember the £10 Christmas bonus will be in there too. It'll be backdated from the day you called to get the forms if you did, or the day you signed them if not or perhaps the day you printed them off? (sorry unsure on the last bit) x

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 07/01/2022 09:46

I’m on hold to them now, pray for me that there’s a decision before I lose my mind 😂😂
