Hello, my forms for DLA (for my son aged 5 with ASD & GDD) were received and put on someone desks on 26th August. This Thursday will be eight weeks exactly and I’m starting to panic a little anyone want to wait with me for their replies?

Hi new here so hoping I'm posting in the right place, they received my sons forms on the 20th October, I now have a payment pending from them due to go into my account tomorrow but received a letter dated the 7th December to say they haven't made a decision yet do you think my son has Bern awarded it?

Polly421 · 13/12/2021 15:06

@Confused1192 yes it’s sound like your son has been awarded as most people tend to get a payment first before they received their award notification through the post.

Confused1192 · 13/12/2021 15:09

@Polly421 great thank you Smile

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 13/12/2021 15:42

@Confused1192 my forms were received 2 days before yours so praying I hear soon! Well done on your award :)

Confused1192 · 13/12/2021 16:08

@Pugsnotdrugs101 thank you I haven't received an award letter yet just the payment due to go in tomorrow, hopefully you'll hear soon about yours Smile

PuddlePip · 15/12/2021 16:38

Waiting on my decision aswell. Form was received 25th October, fingers crossed we hear soon. I did call them today and they said 16 weeks but my confirmation letter said 11 weeks, so who knows

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 15/12/2021 17:33

@PuddlePip oh wow! I rang today and she said they are taking between 9-10 weeks. They all seem to say different things, so annoying! Mine were recieved on the 18th oct but not even with a decision maker yet. I’m 99% sure I will have to appeal as my daughter doesn’t have an official diagnosis yet so just want to hear back so I can get the ball rolling! Good luck, hope we both hear soon Smile

Polly421 · 15/12/2021 18:31

@Pugsnotdrugs101 my daughter was awarded DLA HRC last month and she doesn’t have an official diagnosis yet so you might be awarded without having to appeal as it based on care needs rather than having a certain diagnosis.

Good luck hopefully you won’t have too much longer to wait. My daughters claim took just under 10 weeks to be awarded.

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 15/12/2021 18:52

@Polly421 I hope I don’t have to appeal but fully preparing myself to have to. Covid has pushed back my daughters referral to the pedeateicians but she’s been under cahms, among other difficulties, she just doesn’t sleep so I’m hoping that might help with the decision but not sure how it all works to be honest!

Polly421 · 15/12/2021 19:19

We managed to get to see a paediatrician in august it was her who advised to apply and gave us a report to submit as evidence. She even wrote on report that due to covid referrals are taken longer but this shouldn’t hinder the help my daughter needs now. As now we are waiting for ASD assessment but been advised it will take some time.

TheLandBeforeRhyme · 16/12/2021 09:47

@Pugsnotdrugs101 I called up this morning and still no decision Sad . I’ve been told it’s 10-12 weeks at the moment. January should be when I hear.

Does anyone know how long after decision money is paid in to your bank account? If DC is awarded , I want to book in private therapy as waiting lists are too long .

Sprogonthetyne · 16/12/2021 10:06

I phoned on Monday and was told the decision had been made over the weekend. The money was paid in yesterday, 3 days after decision. But I haven't had the letter yet, so if I hadn't of phoned, the money arriving would have been the first I knew.

Stacylouise14 · 17/12/2021 00:01

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone had their forms received on the 15th October and has heard something?? My daughter had an official diagnosis on Monday and we have been given medication as she does not sleep. I had a letter dated 2nd December saying sorry we still haven’t made a decision. I’m thinking to phone them tomorrow not sure if will make a Difference now if I tell them she has a diagnosis and been given medication?

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 17/12/2021 06:57

@Stacylouise14 mine was recieved on the 18th oct and when I rang 2 days ago I was told another couple of weeks. Definitely ring them and tell them you have new information, ask if it’s with a decision maker because if it’s not you’ve still got time to send the extra info in Smile

Hi thank you for your reply, I have just spoken to them, they have noted it all down on the system and her medication and dosage. And she said to send it all over when it arrives, she said I won’t be waiting much longer they are going to 12 weeks and I am on 11 xx

Stacylouise14 · 17/12/2021 12:25

Oh no I’m coming up to 10 x

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 21/12/2021 09:12

Hi guys. Just rang up and they said the wait is currently about 9.5 weeks and decision makers are currently working on forms received on the 13th oct. Mine was received on the 18th so, although it will be after Christmas now, hopefully not too much longer!

Stacylouise14 · 22/12/2021 09:22

It’s been 10 weeks for me, when I rang last week they said they was working around 12 weeks. So I’m presuming I will be in the new year now before I hear.

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 22/12/2021 09:34

@Stacylouise14 I reckon/hope the first week of January. Fingers crossed for us both!

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 22/12/2021 09:34

@Stacylouise14 a lot of people say, if they are awarded the money goes in before they get a letter so keep checking your bank each day cos that may be how you find out Grin

Confused1192 · 22/12/2021 10:04

@Pugsnotdrugs101 ye that's how I found out I got my award letter around a week after the money went in my account

PuddlePip · 22/12/2021 10:12

10 weeks for us is the 3rd January.
How do you guys get info on what dates they're working on as when I phone they don't mention anything and are usually grumpy and say 16 weeks wait 🤔

Stacylouise14 · 23/12/2021 17:07

Just to let you know I have just received a text to say I qualify, it said I will receive a letter in the next 2 weeks.

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 23/12/2021 17:46

@Stacylouise14 that’s awesome, bet you’re so pleased!! What date did they receive your forms on? X

Stacylouise14 · 23/12/2021 17:53

Yes, honestly I didn’t think I would get it as to be honest I didn’t think I filled the forms out enough, Or go into enough detail. I thought it may be rejected. I never put in a statement from anyone. I just sent the psychologist report and some appointment letters. She did receive her diagnosis last Monday. They received my forms on the 15th October so 10 weeks, I’m not sure what the reward is. Hopefully you will hear soon. Fingers crossed for you x
