Waiting times for DLA for new claim 2021

Hi the DLA received my claim on the 1st April 21. Does anyone know the current waiting times. Thanks

@Masonj377 yeah, couldn’t believe it when the lady on the phone said it 😳 thank you, the wait is keeping me in suspense as I’m not very good at explaining at writing it all down 🙈 I think it’s going to be a refusal but there is a little hope I’ve done enough 🤞🏼 Xx

@almightyfroggie I'm very similar dates to you . They scanned mine onto the system aug 10th . I didn't have alot of evidence just an it report and his fine motor and gross motor are delayed to age 2/3 when he's nearly 8 ... Dont know if I'll be successful or not fingers crossed for you too ☺️

Hi as anyone heard off any claims dated 14th as it's just over 8 weeks but everytime I phone get told it's same thing hasn't been dealt with yet x

@PRINCES23 that's the same date as me I'm going to phone them today but I think it could be next week I will let you know x

Rang DWP bang on 9am this morning and decision was made yesterday. HRC has been allotted. Not old enough for mobility component yet. Forms requested May 21. Return receipt text from DWP on July 13. Scanned into their system on July 9. Backdated care component to May 26. Long wait but worth it in the end. Will improve my sons quality of life and open access to so many more resources for him.

@edsgirl I've seen people from the 12th been rewarded so maybe there working on our today/Monday x

Going to give them a ring myself a think just hate the waiting time on the phone lol will let use know x

I just phoned there and was told 2-3 weeks they obviously have to exaggerate the time sale so that its not giving false hope I think next week maybe x

Hi I’ve received my sons award, do I need to let uc know? As he doesn’t get anything from them as was born after the cut off date (if that makes sense) he gets hrc thanks x

@Lraf1234 I'm sure even if his at the cut of with uc you still get the disability element from them foe him. I could be wrong but it's worth letting them know

@Lraf1234 you get 408 I think for higher rate disabled child element your still entiltled to it even with third child rule and you can get carers element aswell if your his carer also Carter allowance if you have can't work of make less than 128 and not claiming housing x

You can get the disabled element both kids there no cap xx

Yes you can still get the disability element and carers element regardless if he's the 3rd or more child make sure you put a note in your journal for it to be backdated or else they won't backdate it x

Notify them within 30 days and they'll back date to the same as dla hun. X

Hi just phoned told me allocated to decision maker dont know how long they have it for like hopefully not to long know x

Finally got a message from dwp to say my son qualifies x

@Princess23 mine was still waiting to be seen by decision maker yesterday and got accepted today…I can’t imagine yours being much longer until you know x
