@Abwill not recent but when I was waiting on carers in 2017, it took months, I ended up with a thousand pound backdated in my bank it took that long, but it was nice to get a big lump sum x

I made a claim in May and they received my form on the 26th May, I got a letter last week saying they still haven’t made a decision. Anyone else get a letter?

Called them today and they’d made a decision this morning, so over three months from them receiving it until decision made. I’ve obviously still not had a decision letter.

I gave them a call and was told it still hasn’t been looked at were on 9 weeks today since they received the form, the bloke I spoke to said he would contact the allocations manager and see what was happening with it but cases were mostly taking 8 weeks. He said first thing I may notice is money in my account before a letter, I may or may not get a text message saying whether he qualifies. It’s been a long fight even to get his diagnosis through the pandemic was like pulling teeth.

Called them on Wednesday so they had received the form 9 weeks ago but still no decision. The bloke said he will chase it up with the allocations manager. Still haven’t heard nothing but we received some money in the bank Friday which works out to 9 weeks of High Rate Care. I will update again once I get a letter through. I can breathe again this was my first application for my son who’s almost 4. Fingers crossed for you all x

I got a letter through for my dc who I'm making a new claim for today to say they've still not made a decision (8 weeks since they received the forms)

I'm also waiting on hearing how my other dc's renewal has gone, they also received these forms 8 weeks ago and she has three weeks left on her current award.

I'm getting very stressed now.

I got the same letter last week about the 8 week point so that’s why I gave them a call this week at 9 weeks since they got the form and got a decision and payment within 4 days of calling them up. Still awaiting the award letter though x

My previous claim ran out today, they got my renewal on April 22nd and didn’t make a decision until 3 days ago!

Today I’ve noticed an extra payment is due in my account (I assume due to his award upgrade between the end of April and now?)

Just wanted to reassure PP that there isn’t necessarily a cause to me anxious, they’re just reallllllly slow right now.

My sons DLA claim is now on week 7. Sent extra evidence last week and was told the claim was in the holding que? Also they said they had just scanned a letter sent from the doctor. Hoping to hear something soon.

I phoned up this morning as it's been eight weeks since they received the forms (6th June) and they said they were currently working through the forms they received the middle of March. At that rate I won't hear anything till Christmas 🙄

@lesslie77
Hi, I'm in same boat, just got a letter today confirming they received my forms on 17 June and if they need any more information they'll contact the relevant specialist. I phoned twice over last few weeks and barely got information except the application was now in the holding queue.

I just called them to check they received the extra information I had sent. However this time she wanted me to confirm my bank details and telephone number and address... which they haven’t done the last two times I’ve called, so I’m wondering if that’s a good sign.
When I asked if the claim was still waiting to be looked at, she replied it’s being processed and il hear around roughly the middle of August 🤷‍♀️
@leslie77 they received our claim the 17th of June aswell. X

Hi, just wondering if I should expect a letter or text or something to say they've received my forms? I sent them 19th July and have read that you're supposed to get confirmation of them receiving the forms within two weeks. I realise I'm probably still within that, but would like to know ideally whether I should be receiving that confirmation some time soon. Thank you all.
