London/SE SN meet-up

I suggested on the other thread that due to difficulty of us all meeting up because of geography/children/commitments that maybe those of us who can meet in London and either don't want to bring kids or can easily bring little ones could meet for lunch one day. Suggested a school day but don't know what works best for everyone. Maybe a weekend would be better if we can leave dh/dp's in charge of any kids we don't want to bring?

My suggestion is somewhere like one of the big Pizza Express that are generally relatively child friendly and not too expensive and maybe to meet early 12ish so not too busy.

What do people think? Can many people make London, if it was say West End somewhere, as near to train stations as possible? and week day or weekend better?

Really want to find what works best for most people.

(Sorry if I'm being bossy )

Oh go on, it's only a little one!

Just tell him then, that you really REALLY want to go, you NEED to go, and that one day at the beginning is less important than a day when everything is more structured.

Big pleading eyes with a hint of tears as well.

fio, would really love to see you on Friday, is there no other way? I have to say that, personally, I would not take DS out of school for something like this, for almost anything to be honest but you must make up your own mind. My limo awaits.......

lou33 · 07/09/2004 23:10

Slapped on wrist for encouraging Fio

lou33 · 08/09/2004 17:36

HAve you decided what to do fio?

I might be bringing a young mum that I know. Her son has sn, and is the same age as ds2. She is letting me know. Would anyone object?

fio2 · 08/09/2004 17:39

I am not coming Sad I couldnt cope tbh with bringing both of them and i will definately not get back in time to pick up dd.

When my husband gets a job closer it will not be a problem and when my friend is around she would gladly get her off the school bus for me.

Sorry for being so crap Sad

Hope you all have a lovely time. Lou I am definately sure that no-one at all would object to your lovely friend coming Smile

fio2 · 08/09/2004 17:41

lou33 · 08/09/2004 17:41

She's only 21, got a 3 year old. I think he has tuberous sclerosis. Lovely girl.

lou33 · 08/09/2004 17:42

I will blow it up to life size, make the mouth moveable, and sit it next to me. Is everyone else coming still?

fio2 · 08/09/2004 17:42

TS is hard too Sad hope she has a lovely time with you all Smile

fio2 · 08/09/2004 17:43

lol Lou what a scarey thought Grin

heartinthecountry · 08/09/2004 19:12

I'm still coming....

Fio2, it will be such a shame not to meet you. But I understand. We will just have to organise another meet-up on a day you can make. Assuming of course we all actually like each other after Friday .

Don't mind at all if you bring your friend Lou.

I know this probably goes without saying but just wanted to say "Everyone bring a picture of your kids" so we can all share who it is we are talking about when we are mumsnetting. After all it is our kids that have brought us together.
See you Friday

lou33 · 08/09/2004 23:14

What sort of price is this place btw? And how are we going to chop up the bill? Probably best to sort these things out in advance.

RexandBen · 09/09/2004 08:36

lou33 · 09/09/2004 19:05

Lol Fio, I will print them off if my printer doesn't run out of ink! Do you have a camera phone, because then you could send me some to my mobile?

FF is coming to hold my hand, as I get skittish and nervous about meeting strangers.

InternationalGirl · 09/09/2004 21:09

Pricewise at Suze - you could eat and have a drink for about £10. Hope to see you all tomorrow but - just today I have come down with a bit of an eye infection so eyes are bit red - not too attractive. I'm trying drops from the pharmacy but don't know how well they are going to work - might have to see the doctor. Still really want to meet you all though .

Thomcat · 10/09/2004 08:32

See you all later

fio2 · 10/09/2004 15:43

comeon, i am waiting anxiously for gossip Grin
