London/SE SN meet-up

I suggested on the other thread that due to difficulty of us all meeting up because of geography/children/commitments that maybe those of us who can meet in London and either don't want to bring kids or can easily bring little ones could meet for lunch one day. Suggested a school day but don't know what works best for everyone. Maybe a weekend would be better if we can leave dh/dp's in charge of any kids we don't want to bring?

My suggestion is somewhere like one of the big Pizza Express that are generally relatively child friendly and not too expensive and maybe to meet early 12ish so not too busy.

What do people think? Can many people make London, if it was say West End somewhere, as near to train stations as possible? and week day or weekend better?

Really want to find what works best for most people.

(Sorry if I'm being bossy )

Thomcat lottie must be the same age as Louis then, he is nearly three, mid october to be exact.

Fio2 · 31/08/2004 13:09

of course blossom2!

lou33 · 31/08/2004 14:17

I could possibly do 10th, although ds2 has an appt at 11.30 with the paed, so I doubt I would get there before 2. But i could always play cacth up, being childless !

RexandBen · 31/08/2004 14:56

I can make the 10th. May have to bring Rexie (but will try to sweet talk DH in the meantime

Thomcat · 31/08/2004 15:04

Lou - just be there!

Blossom - of course you can come nutter, would be great to meet you.

Fio - yes Lottie is 3 a week before Xmas.

Davros · 31/08/2004 16:54

No blossom2, bugger off! Not really . What are we thinking for venue? IG's suggestion or something else? What stations does everyone have to come to? Should we try to make it a park cafe?

Thomcat · 31/08/2004 16:57

Park Cafe is fine, anything's fine with me!
I'm coming from Pinner on the Metropolitan line, so main stations without changing are Regents Park, Baker St, Gt Portland St etc.
Can get to Oxford St, Tott Court Rd, Bond St easily on anywhere on the Metropolitan line, or Piccadilly line as well come to think of it.

The cafe in Queens Park (on Bakerloo line) has shut down (I think) or that would have been nice.

lou33 · 31/08/2004 17:12

I come into Waterloo, but can get pretty much anywhere.

Thomcat · 31/08/2004 17:17

So Lou, i am going to meet you then?
Really????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lou33 · 31/08/2004 17:19

Most likely. If you don't all look too scary. I know what you look/sound like, I saw essbee's skydiving dvd!

Fio2 · 31/08/2004 17:35

I will be coming into victoria or charing cross, dont know which one to get off at, please tell me Grin

i am really excited now! bet i'll get lost though

Thomcat · 31/08/2004 17:37

I was thinking how on earth do you know what I sound like from Essbee's DVD? Then I remembered that she grabbed hold of me and made me stay in the interview part of the DVD! OH NO!
How come you got to see that anyway?

lou33 · 31/08/2004 17:41

I know, poor old essbee just couldn't get a word in! Dh had to go and shove his rods down her pipes, while I watched on, then she came round here for bank holiday monday, and we made her a spare copy.

Fio2 · 31/08/2004 17:41

BECAUSE ESSBEE HAS HAD THE PLEASURE OF SEEING LOU'S DH'S BIG ROD

lou33 · 31/08/2004 17:47

You can do either Fio.

From charing cross you get the northern line going northbound to tottenham court road, then change there and get the central line to Marble Arch (is that where the restaurant is?).

From Victoria, to minimise changes and save you getting lost, get the victoria line northbound to oxford circus, then change onto the central line westbound to marble arch.

lou33 · 31/08/2004 17:47

Wahey Fio !

(she's just jealous he won't come to kent and show it to her)

Fio2 · 31/08/2004 17:48

oh i really need a big rod too Grin

Thomcat · 31/08/2004 17:49

OI! You get cheekier by the minute!
(Did I really talk a lot on her DVD, please tell me I didn't, I'd be mortified)

lou33 · 31/08/2004 17:55

lou33 · 31/08/2004 17:55

Fio, get your own

Thomcat · 31/08/2004 18:01

i'll bring it with me Lou, cheers mate, that'd be wicked.
I've been trying to do it myself but haven't been able to so far so that would be grrrrrreeeeeaaaat!

lou33 · 31/08/2004 18:03

It's done in a weird ass code he says.

Cadbury · 31/08/2004 18:06

Just poking my nose in to say to Fio ....
It would be very tricky to go up to London on the Chraring X line because the Strood tunnel is closed and it would mean you getting off at Strood and getting the replacement bus service to Higham and then back on a train for the rest of the journey. Victoria is probably your best bet.
Two penethworth over. carry on.

Fio2 · 31/08/2004 18:08

really cadbury? thanks for the tip! Smile i will get blinking lost anyway, as cadbury will vouch for me as I get lost where I live

Maybe i would be better coming on the national expres Grin

Cadbury · 31/08/2004 18:10

I'm sure you won't. Have a nice day.
Hope your dd gets on ok at school.
