Thanks to Thumbwitch for inspiring the title of this new thread. Smile

I will do my very best to minimise my worrying about the future as none of us know what it holds. For now, it's all about celebrating Beatrice's life today, every day.

As always, please feel free to follow us on our journey, and thank you in advance for the wonderful advice I am bound to receive from fellow parents, of SN children or otherwise.

Here's to a positive, uneventful thread!

Beatrice had an awful night. She was thrashing in pain and crying out. Nothing was settling her. Codeine wasn't touching the pain. They gave buscopan (sp) as a bowel relaxant in case the erythromycin was causing spasms in the gut. That helped for an hour, then she was banging her head and legs again. This morning they are going to do xrays, blood tests and give her morphine. I'll let you know if we get any results.

You must be in pieces. It is awful to feel so powerless to help your child. Sending you strength. I hope things improve today. If there is ANYTHING practical that we can do for you, you will let us know, won't you?

Haberdashery · 29/05/2012 10:08

Thinking of you, too, and hoping Bea has a pain-free day.

Oh cup sorry bea is struggling again - sending all possible strength love and hugs to you all.

I think you and dh have done such a brilliant job and it's only natural to have tough times given the immense stress you are all under, just take it one day at a time

Keeping everything crossed for you xxxxx

Hi cup haven't posted before except to wish you good luck etc. Reading your morning post I felt your pain and helplessness for poor little Bea. 18 months ago my son age 11 not the same as Bea but deafblind CP epilepsy had many prolonged periods of screaming lasting 4-5hours and only Diazepam helped, all results negative. Finally came up with Dx Neuropathic Pain, is now taking Propanolol and Amitriptyline, took a while to kick in but Jay is so much happier( but very sleepy at times). Hope you don't mind me writing but your angst hit me like a stone and wondered if it could be a similar problem I could cry for you. Much love and positive thoughts.XX

mcfee · 29/05/2012 12:04

just sending you all lots of love & hugs

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 29/05/2012 12:05
