Thanks to Thumbwitch for inspiring the title of this new thread. Smile

I will do my very best to minimise my worrying about the future as none of us know what it holds. For now, it's all about celebrating Beatrice's life today, every day.

As always, please feel free to follow us on our journey, and thank you in advance for the wonderful advice I am bound to receive from fellow parents, of SN children or otherwise.

Here's to a positive, uneventful thread!

We had Beatrice weighed today- she's put on over a lb in less than a week, going from 9lb 8oz on Thursday, to 10lb 10oz today!!! Shock If she carries on at this rate, I'll have to put her on a diet... Wink

For those who have asked, I have set up a JustGiving page here I am trying to personalise it a bit, but it keeps crashing. Anyway, I will persist!

heliumballoons · 10/04/2012 22:04

I absolutely adore the whole range of expressions Bea has Grin

Her personality shines through the screen.

Tea for Bea sounds great - sadly I am unable to attend but will visit your justgiving page.

stressheaderic · 10/04/2012 23:53

Over the 10lb mark, and then some! You must be overjoyed. What a little cracker she is.
Your event sounds wonderful and what you wrote on the JG page were such lovely words - I hope you raise lots and lots, and wish I lived closer.

NorksAreMessy · 11/04/2012 07:17

have donated on JustGiving and am delighted to be able to do something to help. Will try to keep this thread bumped without MNHQ noticing! :)

Bobloblaw · 11/04/2012 07:40

Wow, that's brilliant weight gain, she has grown so much :) Way to go Bea.

TooManyOddSocks · 11/04/2012 07:43

Cup I have been following your thread, and am in awe of your strength and Bea's fighting spirit. Smile

DutchOma · 11/04/2012 10:02

If she grows any more she won't fit the jacket I have made. Fortunately I have enough to make a bigger one if needs be.

fhdl34 · 11/04/2012 15:12

Ooh I want to come for Tea with Bea but I think you live too far away :( I love cake but really would just want lots of snuggles with Bea.
On mat leave myself at the moment and SMP doesn't go very far but have given what I could afford and I really hope your event is a success.
Am sure if you sold Bea cuddles, you'd make even more ;)

NorksAreMessy · 11/04/2012 16:38

Bumpety bump bump bump

cupofteaplease · 11/04/2012 16:55

Don't worry DutchOma, we'll squeeze her in it somehow Wink

Thank you so much to everyone who has passed by the JustGiving page, in less than 24 hours we've raised over £100 for the hospice Shock Grin

I'm very touched by the kindness of strangers, yet again. Smile

Beatrice enjoyed the library and Costa today, she has treated us all to lots of gummy smiles.

saffronwblue · 12/04/2012 12:07

Your page is over 200 pounds now!

CherylCoalbunker · 12/04/2012 19:46

Hugs for your gorgeous girl, and well done you for the fund-raising!

cupofteaplease · 13/04/2012 18:09

Well, Beatrice was weighed today and came in at 10lb 14oz Smile

We had an assessment this morning by the social care team, we should hear back after Bea's case goes to panel on Monday. Then I took her to the hospital for an orthopedic review, but I had been given the wrong time and by the time I got there the person had already left- bum. (Or bonkers, as dd2 says whenever anything goes wrong...)

The upside of today is that the JustGiving page for TeaForBea is now at £2 shy of £300!

OP posts:
NorksAreMessy · 13/04/2012 18:42

Ooh, look, it is now over £300

BB3 · 13/04/2012 19:06

Go bea! And go tea for bea!!

Did the social care team give you any idea on what they might be able to offer?

ChippingInLovesEasterEggs · 14/04/2012 07:20

Wow that's amazing - she's gaining weight at a lovely rate now :) Have you been recording her length at all?

'Bonkers' does cover a multitude of 'issues' Grin

Northernlurker · 14/04/2012 10:49

Good to read your update - go Bea! Smile

Hopefully you'll get some helpful news on Monday then?

Carrotcakeisace · 14/04/2012 13:13

Go Bea, the NJ tube is clearly working wonders!

Hope Social care come up with some useful support, is it like the Statementing process where you seem to have to appeal automatically? Or is it run by sensible human beings? I hope it is the latter, you deserve something to go right first time xxx

trumpton · 14/04/2012 19:56

Too far away for Tea For Bea ( T4B ?) but will donate to your fund for the hospice. I know Dutch Oma is knitting for Bea but if you would like me to do any knitting please PM me. You can ask for what you want re colour and design. (PS. I did a hat for Bea many moons ago. )

MABS · 14/04/2012 20:34

where is the link for this to pay?

CherylCoalbunker · 14/04/2012 20:47
