Dear LA EP,

Before I can agree to your visit of my ds. Please can you give me the following information:

The name and job title of the person who requested that you made the visit.
The purpose of your visit.
The expected time of arrival.
The expected outcome/benefit to my ds as the result of your visit.
The expected outcome/benefit to the LA as the result of your visit.
The overall cost to the taxpayer of your visit, including overheads.

Once I have received this information, I will respond within 14 days with my decision. Not my problem that this will be after the tribunal deadline. If you can't manage to deliver an efficient and timely service, your further involvement with my ds doesn't bode well does it?

Fine thanks! Just coming to terms with my pending adventure. The PCT where I will have to give birth are horrid though. Refused to answer the phone for 3 days of calling. Got connected internally in the end and they put the phone down. I stayed there for a while and they kept picking up but when realising there was a caller hung up repeatedly.

Then when I got to speak to someone I got reprimanded for not having moved earlier in my pregnancy and that their maternity servics are fully booked for June Hmm. When I asked what I was supposed to do then, they said they didn't know, perhaps move after I've had the baby Hmm.

None of this has upset me though. It's too stupid for words and I have dealt with far FAR worse.

Nothing up much - Grin. Just felt like procrastinating. House is a mess and we have a guest tonight. I'll try and remove my dirty undergarmets from the living room floor I suppose, but can't be bothered with anything else.

How would I engrave it on a carrot? Confused

Those questions to the EP might sound bolshy, but surely they are exactly the questions you'd ask a private EP.

i.e. what is in it for us, what is in it for them, when are they coming, what are they going to do and how much is it going to cost etc.........

I have dust bunnies the size of actual bunnies the boys playroom...meh. Cant get too worked up about it tbh Smile Til ds2 actually starts playing with them, then I have to hoover Blush

Dont get me started on private EPs star Grrr....Should have just given the £600 fee to charity frankly, at least I would feel better about it!

Am starting to help out at school with reading (hahahahahahaha) after half term...in Y5 where ds1 will be next year...time to cosy up to the teachers methinks!!! (have pretty much given up on Y4 Sad)

Got a lot to so today...having a move round in the kitchen (me dsis unpacked the whole kitchen for me when we moved so cue lots of phone calls "where are my ramekins??!!" [smile[) and I am moving stuff around to suit me better.

Also got shedloads of ironing to do, washing up etc etc...

Should get started really............Grin

I'm here

Signed off with stress at the moment after having a full blown ASD style meltdown in my GPs office when they said that the waiting list to get help for DS had gone up from 10 to 12 months due to funding cuts. I was chasing up the referral as it had been 10 months. Apparently they are going to send me a letter asking if I still want the appointment. I may have had some creative ideas as to what they could do with that.

StarlightDicKenzie · 10/02/2012 13:37

What help baby?

Waiting to see the clinical psychologist for a proper assessment. He was referred last April. We're still waiting for the initial appt.

signandsmile · 10/02/2012 14:08

babyheave Sad. and star Angry zzzzz yay for the bath Grin.

I'm afraid it's "mucusRus" at chez sign. altho ds is letting me blow his nose... new development Grin so the slug trails of snot are diminished... Wink.

my asthma is not happy, Sad, but I have got all my student visits and teaching done this week, without having to wimp out, so am relieved...

ds has been off school since Tuesday, so have had a computer and cbeebies overload Blush, but he hasn't been any good for anything else...

StarlightDicKenzie · 10/02/2012 14:16

It's really silly tbh. I am going to be in a tent, the other side of the country for the week before I am due. When I called the local maternity services there to warn them they just said 'make sure you bring your notes and we'll take you if you go into labour but we'd rather not deliver in a tent'.

And then this place, saying they are full and they'll refuse to take me without me being registered with a GP there and they don't know what I should do given I have left it so late.

blueShark · 10/02/2012 14:25

May be silly idea, but a friend that just moved to my area and her letter of gp referral got lost by the hospital, was told by her gp to cheekily go to a & e and complain about swollen legs etc et etc and then they will automatically refer her to the hospital midwife regardless how busy they are.

She got seen the same day by the midwives and booked in for delivery next month. Was also told on phone they were fully booked.

blueShark · 10/02/2012 14:27

Which reminds me, do we have a maternity ward that is not overbooked in uk?

When i was due with ds2 abroad they were very fully booked that after I gave birth they didn't have time to take me to my room but had to watch 2 other live births in same room, at least they didn't turn me back.

AgnesDiPesto · 10/02/2012 14:31

Maybe its a silly question but can't you carry on with the current hospital and drive there if you can (great believer that babies, especially third ones tend to hold off until its convenient to arrive). How far are you having to move?
