Do you mind me asking was it a SEN claim?

Luckers1102 · 08/12/2021 09:59

Hi just asking for a bit of advice to be honest...
I was still waiting for my son's Autism diagnosis report when I had sent the form off and said that I would send it when received.
Well I received it yesterday and i saw a bit which stated bath times weren't a problem although they are.. my son refuses to get out of the bath and it can take absolutely ages to try and get him out (which I stated in my form).
I do not remember the doctor asking me about bath times when questioning me?

What do I do now as they obviously want that diagnosis and I don't want them to think I've lied in my form which I haven't 😩

Imitatingdory · 08/12/2021 10:24

Luckers Can you call the secretary and ask for the letter to be corrected?

DeludedWench · 08/12/2021 10:46

Called today and found out my case worker only went on blooming leave!

So the very lovely, helpful gentleman has pushed our case through urgently to be put into someone else's cases as we have been waiting 10 weeks, nearly a week with the case worker on leave. He said I have been very polite throughout, as seen on my notes, so he hopes as he has pushed it through to the manager, urgently, someone will work on it today.

KarenW1984 · 08/12/2021 10:50

@LovingLanz5 no it wasn't an SEN claim. They called me yesterday morning as they were querying why they received it late. Which they didn't. It wasn't scanned onto the system for 2 weeks after it was received. She said on the phone she was making a decision. I called a few hours later and decision was made.

LovingLanz5 · 08/12/2021 11:10

@KarenW1984
2 weeks before being scanned on to system oh wow. I spoke to a manager today who explained the process etc and said staff shortages bla but assured me it would be dealt with ASAP next week by the latest, as when I spoke to someone yesterday she said January Confused hell no was I accepting that.

KarenW1984 · 08/12/2021 11:22

@LovingLanz5 I must admit I wasn't expecting to hear anything until the new year

loopiluna · 08/12/2021 11:32

Hi, I've been following all your progress for a few weeks now but first I've posted. My sons renewal forms were received on the 15th Oct, so fingers crossed I don't wait too much longer. Hoping everyone still waiting gets good news!

LovingLanz5 · 08/12/2021 11:46

@KarenW1984
Brilliant news for you though. Hope it allows things to be slightly easier for you all.

LovingLanz5 · 08/12/2021 11:49

Hi@loopiluna
Mine was the day before, 14th October I was told today by a manager it should be done by next week the latest. So fingers crossed for you.

loopiluna · 08/12/2021 12:10

@LovingLanz5 Aw thanks, fingers crossed we both hear in the next week! Smile

Jneill2021 · 08/12/2021 14:36

@DeludedWench that's terrible you think they would of had to get there claims all done before the date of there leave xx

Jneill2021 · 08/12/2021 14:37

@Blabbermouth93 have you heard anything from uc? Xx

DeludedWench · 09/12/2021 00:21

@Jneill2021 Aye. Even if it was an unexpected leave, you would have thought they would hand out their pile lol. Oh well, hoping that means we know for sure this week.

LovingLanz5 · 09/12/2021 06:38

@DeludedWench
Thats shocking to leave your work then p off on leave is unprofessional, can you imagine how many DM's do that. Hoping you get THE TEXT today. X

DeludedWench · 09/12/2021 10:40

@LovingLanz5 no text as of yet!

The gentleman who dealt with my call had to dig a little into our case to find out. But to think they just go on leave with open cases still in their work load is a bit concerning lol.

LovingLanz5 · 09/12/2021 10:46

@DeludedWench
Your so right.. Another reason why claimants are waiting 2+months for an answer. The manager I spoke to yesterday just kept on "err, err, err" as I put him on the spot in a diplomatic way. If your going in date order how is it some claims are done in 4 weeks and other take months, he didn't know what to say, could only apologise and tell me he will be looking into it. I had an awful time with Capita and PIP actual got the assessor investigated. I dread when my sons claim is up for renewal. The disability benefit system is a shambles

Auntpollyhadadolly · 09/12/2021 17:01

Hello! Ibhave been following for a while and wondered if anyone had heard. I keep getting mixed messages from different people I speak with. They got out form on the 2nd of Oct and registered it on the 4th. I'm told hopefully by the end of the mk th. I'm now a bit worried that the work from home announcement will impact wait times even longer Confused

Lifey · 09/12/2021 20:48

I am currently in the exact same boat as you. My claim was received on 4th October. I’ve rang every day this weekend and each time I have been told different things, “you will hear by the end of the week”, but I was also told that it isn’t even with a decision maker yet.

Lifey · 09/12/2021 20:51

I am just so tired of waiting, it would help if they were just honest and gave realistic time frames

LovingLanz5 · 09/12/2021 21:06

@Lifey
Demand to speak to a case manager and ask him about how the allocation policy and how they guarantee all claims are treated fairly. I did the other day he couldn't even answer me! My form was received the 14th Oct he assured me my form will have a decision next week as they working on your week etc now.. Call 2mora and make sure they hear you. I did feel alot better when I can off the phone, I haven't felt so anxious as I put my point across even. Keep strong... its a tough process but the wait will be worth it.. Positive thoughts Smile

Parkle2 · 10/12/2021 09:13

My form was scanned into the system on 16th October so just reaching 8 weeks now. I recieved a letter today to say sorry they are still dealing with the claim. How long have people waited after getting this letter. Thank you

Lifey · 10/12/2021 09:16

I think I shall give them a call today and demand to be heard! I’m going to try around 3 to give them a little more time.. haha! I hope that my claim is dealt with before the end of the week but I have a bad feeling I will be looking at next week!

Alk19 · 10/12/2021 09:26

@Parkle2 I think it's different I received that letter a couple of days after being awarded x

LovingLanz5 · 10/12/2021 09:41

@Parkle2
I received the "sorry for delay" letter last week, my form was scanned the 14th October. I called them yesterday the unhelpful woman who didn't want check my claim said its with processing not sure what that is as I thought it would be with a decision maker. The manager who I spoke to Wednesday said by next week the latest I should have a decision.
Definitely @Lifey call them today, fingers crossed double get the answer you've been waiting for x
