Well really @Caytun if 3 packs of wotsits makes all the difference that day then it’s still only 12 syns… maybe just make the rest really low syn and you’ll be fine!

Caytun · 08/01/2024 12:23

I do love my snacks!

TheGirlWhoLived · 08/01/2024 14:42

I think it’s a wotsit thing

Testarossa44 · 08/01/2024 15:59

Off to first group soon, although I was a member elsewhere a few years ago. Actually feeling quite motivated at the moment.

Ralphiesaurus · 08/01/2024 19:31

Quite a gain this eve but not entirely surprised. Was more surprised to have lost last week over Christmas. This feels more believable 🤣. Am back within target range though... had gone a bit below before. Just need to be careful not to stack it all back on!

Testarossa44 · 09/01/2024 09:42

Group was good last night, I've a stone and a half too lose to get back to my old target weight. Got a new starter pack and a consultant did a new starter talk, which was a good refresher. Wow was it a busy group though! Made my pack lunch for today, then filled in a food diary so I know how many syns I have left after meals etc. 4.5syns as it happens!

Wilma55 · 09/01/2024 09:54

WI at group this morning, 1lb off, happy with that as really all I've done is cut hack on snacks and alcohol. Still got that cold that's going round so not feeling 100% though did go linedancing yesterday.

Rejoined yesterday. I've moved house and area and missing the familiar friendly faces of my old group. Want to lose 2 stone by summer.

Wilma55 · 09/01/2024 11:50

Good luck @Cantbesure I hope you soon settle in at your new group. I've switched group as my Saturday one kept changing consultants, this Tuesday seems more stable and is run by a former slimmer of the year (?), she is very practical and motivating. Picked up my "free" recipe book today as got 6 week countdown last week. I'm not usually a big fan of sw recipes but will give it a go.

Still keeping on! Not got a weigh in until Friday but excited to see what it’ll be. Really enjoying Linda McCartney sausages in a wholemeal pitta for breakfast. Need to stop eating both my a choice cheese in one go though, might try a stronger one? Nowhere near my syns so luckily I won’t miss them when I get under 16stone!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 09/01/2024 18:18

I’ve been using Schwartz sachets recently to inspire my cooking a bit, tonight I had paella, I used heck chicken sausages instead of chorizo and the whole recipe came to 9 syns. I had a quarter so 2.5 syns and it was lovely, really filling as well.

i was so bloated this morning that I could barely get my rings on, although during the course of the day it’s reduced a bit. I’m feeling really tired and craving sugar which I guess is expected after a week of being on plan. I feel like I’m really detoxing off alcohol and junk food.

TheGirlWhoLived · 10/01/2024 19:08

I’ve got a banging headache, really struggling to shift it! Anyone else?

thenewaveragebear1983 · 10/01/2024 20:02

I totally crashed out and ate loads of sugary crap last night and then today I’ve felt really hungover. I’m hormonal and so so tired, it’s horrible. I have gone over syns today as well. I am weighing in tomorrow and I feel really peed off with myself for not even getting through my first week back. It’s annoying because my meals have been really good. I need to do a menu and go shopping, we’ve got no fruit left and a random assortment of other stuff, not a lot of speed or free food.

Elttek · 10/01/2024 23:57

What's the go to easy syn-free or really low syn snacks? appart from fruit or eggs or a slice of meat 😂 I prefer to try and use my syns on a slice of toast to go with lunch or something.
Also finding it hard to fit in cooking with a 3 month old who seems to hate me being in the kitchen 😂 and it's really hard to cook one handed! Will be going in to Iceland for ready meals for desperate days- I remember they were quite large so should do me and my 8 year old easily

OverTheRainbow2023 · 11/01/2024 15:15

Weighed in today and lost 1lb. Happy with a loss but aiming for more next week. Just struggling to get motivation back up after Christmas gains. What things do you all do to keep yourself motivated? I find the slimming world podcast and following others slimming world insta accounts help me but would love other suggestions.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 11/01/2024 19:52

I lost 1.5lb, I’d have like more but I didn’t really deserve it so I’ll take that.

i find motivation hard too, I like the secret world of slimming clubs podcast but it’s not really ‘strict’, it’s just funny. I like the sw podcast too but they are on their best behaviour all the time! I keep myself motivated by planning my syns and planning my meals and recipes to include some new/interesting stuff, and I pre- prep things like baked oats for my breakfasts and big couscous or sakads for my lunches so it’s already prepped and ready.

Woahtherehoney · 13/01/2024 09:56

Had my first weigh in today at a new group and lost 4lbs - happy with that!

Did SW a couple of years ago but didn’t really commit but have my wedding next year so I’m fully committed this time.

TheGirlWhoLived · 13/01/2024 10:47

Weigh in is on Monday so I’m excited to see what my first week is like. Really enjoying some different HEB- things like the Warburton protein thin bagels and wholemeal soft pitta pockets.

bought a shedload of slimming friendly things from Iceland, a couple of the ready meals, veggie burgers, chorizo style sausages to make quick and easy meals but also some chicken skewers, lots of frozen veg, frozen quinoa bags that I can just chuck in, frozen spinach for curry’s etc. it’s so cheap there!

LightandAiry · 15/01/2024 09:55

Morning all, I am sloping in again if that's OK....I was on the previous thread and I have been successful but after a lot of comfort eating I have to start again as I've gained the 1.5 stone I lost, a recent bereavement has topped it. Oh well.

I rejoined Slimming World on 23rd December & paid for a 6 week countdown. Booked holiday on 30th December. Gained on the first weigh in but this year eek lost the grand total of 0.5lb 😬 I did well for 4 days then went to pot but at least it was in the right direction.

I've just had a really good breakfast pan fried tinned potatoes, spinach, tomato, mushroom and egg with beans which will fill me up until lunch time. I am feeling pretty full now.

Good luck with weigh in @TheGirlWhoLived @thenewaveragebear1983 well done on your loss this week

TheGirlWhoLived · 15/01/2024 14:10

2lb so quite happy with that!!
had a couple of bottles of wine at the weekend, but kept food on plan, hoping without the wine this weekend it could be even better 😂

Testarossa44 · 15/01/2024 17:33

2.5lb this week, happy with that, as I have been very careful this week, even when we out for lunch on Saturday i tried to chose sensibly off the menu. So I'm quite pleased I've had a lose.

TheGirlWhoLived · 15/01/2024 17:38

Well done @Testarossa44

FourTeaFallOut · 15/01/2024 20:32

I'm a bit late to the party, take me to your leader. 😁

Started last week. This is the first time I've ever done one of these kinds of weight loss groups and I'm hoping the whole thing will keep me on track. Dh seemed to think it was akin to biggest loser and suggested I drank a lot of water to game the starting weight 😅

I'm hoping to lose two stone, that'll take me to just over 11 stone but I have a mid-goal of losing 10%. I've already eaten a brown roll instead of a wholemeal bun and jettisoned over the limit and mistook a teaspoon for a tablespoon of oil when adding up. I have only been eyeballing the free dairy allowance but think I should be under. I'll probably get better at it all as I go along.

Wilma55 · 15/01/2024 20:39

Hi and welcome @FourTeaFallOut - the party has only just started! You will soon get used to things and feel free to ask any questions here. 10% is a good first goal.

Thanks @Wilma55

Next weigh in is on Thursday so hopefully I'll see a loss. I have a lovely group - so there's that, at least.
