Well done @Ralphiesaurus , a loss is indeed a loss!

I'm +4lb after my 2 week holiday and finding it hard to get back on track- been home a week.

Re setting a target....My target is 1.5 stone over the goal I set 30 years ago with weightwatchers! I set it thinking it was achievable (it was) and intending to then reduce it by half a stone. But I find once I get to target I stop going to group, put on weight and then join again to lose it and return to target. So I've never set a new goal or even got to 3lb under target.

I really need to lose a bit more to get to top of healthy BMI. For now I need to lose the 4lb, then another 3 to get back to 🎯

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/10/2023 19:12

Sts the same again. But as not been good as half term I will happily accept that

Prob gain next week and catch up with me

thenewaveragebear1983 · 28/10/2023 07:43

I lost 1lb when I weighed in on Thursday. I was disappointed actually, I’d hoped for more and actually felt I deserved it tbh. I’d had a great week.

determined not to spiral though, I came home, made a biryani and had loads of veg with it, and drank some water.
yesterday I had a reasonable day. I did have a few glasses of wine but I synned them, and The rest of this week I’m aiming for just 5 a day.

my big goals this week are to max out the speed veg, and to drink more water. My food and meals are pretty good tbh and I still have some of my batch cooking from last week. I’m half a pound away from my half stone award, I would like to get that this week. It’s slow weight loss for me, I’m averaging 1lb a week at the moment. I bought the 12 week countdown on Thursday which will see me through Christmas and I’d like to be 12lbs down by then.

NeverAloneNeverAgain · 29/10/2023 12:17

Hope everyone is having a good week.

Lost .5lb this week. Not going to lie I'm a bit disappointed because it's week 2 so thought I'd do better but it's come off the back of 5.5lbs last week so maybe a bit of balance I guess. Just really wanted 1/2st award. Definitely next week!

It's half term this week and the naff weather is not making me want to venture out for any body magic. Going on the ring fit with the kids instead so that should give things a boost!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 29/10/2023 12:41

Sunday = meal prep day so I’ve done all the veg for my Sunday dinner but double quantity so I have Sw friendly roasties and loads of prepped veg for the week. We are having a birthday meal for dd so I’m doing lamb and have also cooked a chicken, I’ll portion up a few roast dinners with leftovers as well.

i ran 5 miles this morning, in the beautiful crisp cold autumn sunshine. Lovely.

I’m going to try to make some baked oats for my breakfasts this week, hoping it keeps in the fridge for a few days?

i’m really determined to get my half stone award this week, I need to lose 1lb to get it but I know I could lose more so I’m on it!

Whattodo112222 · 01/11/2023 18:41

Joined again at group tonight. Determined to lose a first stone by Xmas. I lost a stone in two weeks the first time I did it so hopefully.

Rainsdropskeepfalling · 01/11/2023 20:50

Put on this week but I hadn't tracked and I'd eaten like a pig out of control over the weekend so it is to be expected.

Need to up my game

thenewaveragebear1983 · 01/11/2023 21:30

I’ve had an ok week, and I’m quite looking forward to weighing in tomorrow. I really want my half stone award and I only need 1/2 a pound to get it so I really hope I have done enough this week. I’ve gone over on Syns to be fair, but my meals have been good and I’ve drunk loads of water and had a lot more speed foods this week.
I’m looking forward to getting my new cook book this week, I am going to enjoy trying a few things out of there.
my weight loss is super slow, this will be my 6th week and I’ve lost 6.5lbs so far, which isn’t great. But I guess it’s sustainable and fits into normal life and I can still lose, albeit slowly.

Ralphiesaurus · 02/11/2023 12:25

1.5 on, which gets me bang on target again (I'd gone a wee bit under). I feel a bit like I've taken the stabilisers off and am wobbling all over the place... at some point I'll set my new target and then probably feel comfortable again as I knew where I was with the regular programme.

Still at least I'm sort of maintaining, even if I'm not quite sure how I'm doing it 🤣

Ralphiesaurus · 02/11/2023 12:29

Good luck @Whattodo112222 ! I've found the positivity of the group has really helped me. Before this attempt at SW I had so much negative self-talk about my weight and food. I hope you enjoy the journey!

@Rainsdropskeepfalling don't be too hard on yourself. At least you know why you gained so can do something about it. We all have off days and weeks don't we?

@thenewaveragebear1983 good luck for your weigh in today! I hear you on the slow weight loss. I started out quite fast and it got slower and slower as I got lighter. The body is a fickle thing!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 02/11/2023 18:37

Lost 2lbs this week and got my half stone sticker! Total loss 8.5lbs. If I lose 1lb next week I’ll be under 11 stone for the first time in ages (probably 2 years?!)

LeftyLou · 03/11/2023 13:26

Lost 2 lbs two weeks ago and put 1.5 back on this week. A mix of been away and time of the month. Hey ho. Getting there very slowly but surely.

I did start again. For my sins! So have lost a half lbs total.

Well done on half stone @thenewaveragebear1983 😊

Rainsdropskeepfalling · 03/11/2023 19:17

@Ralphiesaurus I've been having an off decade but yes I'm here for the long haul so really need to see the positives in that I'm half a stone lighter than when I started and most the time I'm doing ok. Just the occasional crazy blip.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/11/2023 09:54

Another sts but it's half term still so ......

BelandtheDragon · 04/11/2023 14:13

Hello everyone. Hello to new joiners and well done to everyone on the losses. For any gains, remember no shame in a gain!

Back from the sunshine and too much food but only one bottle of wine over the week. I’m not sure how much I put on as only on home scales but if based on SW scale before I went, it was 2 pounds gain. I also brought covid home along with extra pounds but was mild and well over it.

Anyway, used it as excuse not to go to group this week which was valid I suppose but gives me time to lose the extra pounds. Weighed myself this morning and am just under 11 stone (finally!!). This will be my fourth stone bracket this year.

Saw the discussions above on target weight. I think I’m going to set mine as 10-9 which is just under a BMI 25 (24.9 or so). I know maintaining this will be a challenge and a 10 stone target will be too hard and at age 48, too much weight loss from my face is making me look a bit scraggy. I can now fit into all my old clothes and I’m so happy with this. I’m not skinny but fit in to 10-12 clothes as a pear shaped 5’5.

So depending on what official SW scales say next week, I’m 4ish pounds from target! My 2.5 stone award should hopefully be given as it’s 10-13.5. My interim target was 11 stone and hadn’t reached this on club scales before holiday. Realise I might never get the 3 stone award but not essential.

The last couple of months have been hard as I haven’t been very focused and was up and down. But now comes the hardest job of keeping it off. I have become less obsessed with weighing myself but will need to keep an eye. Am going to keep going to group too as I find this keeps me accountable (and will be free as long as I keep within 3 pound up/down range). I’ve checked to see how much I’ve spent £120 on SW since 1 May so been money well spent.

Im running a marathon next year and not carrying an extra 2.5 stone will help me a great deal especially for my poor knees.😀

thenewaveragebear1983 · 04/11/2023 17:00

I’ve done some meal preps today. I made soup, I’m never really a fan of homemade soup but I know it’s good and filling so I’ve made a batch. I also made 6 potions of chocolate baked oats which i’ve cut into wedges now it’s cool and they will be 1hex b and 1 syn per piece, quick and easy for breakfasts with some fruit and yoghurt. They are really big so will be nice and filling, I’ve put some in the freezer.

TomWambsgansSwans · 04/11/2023 20:45

I felt like I'd eaten LOADS this week having lost 1.5lbs last week. We had a takeaway curry last Saturday and finished the leftovers on Sunday, I've had quite a bit of chocolate, and then there's Halloween. Somehow I lost half a pound - I'm going to be much more sensible in the run up to Christmas!!

BelandtheDragon · 04/11/2023 22:01

@thenewaveragebear1983 can you share your recipe for chocolate oats? They sound nice. I have a soup maker which I must get out and dust off.

@TomWambsgansSwans well done on the loss. I’m always surprised by my losses and do wonder are the SW scales correct!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 05/11/2023 07:02

@BelandtheDragon of course. Essentially, For every portion use: 40g oats, 1 egg, 100ml milk. That’s your base. You can make 1 individual portion or double/x4/x6 mixture. Mix together, use sweetener if you like, cinnamon etc. bake like a rice pudding, low and slow. (Or use your air fryer). Each portion is 1x b choice and I include the milk in my a choice because I only have 1 cup of tea with milk each day and I never use it all. (If I don’t do things like this with it, I measure my a choice and i count 1 every 2/3 days)

you can then modify the base. So I made 6 portions. I traded 2 x 40g oats for 4 weetabix (2 b choices). This made a much nicer texture. I added 2x tbsp cocoa but tbh it wasn’t really worth it. It looks brown but doesn’t taste chocolatey. You used to be able to have raisins as a b choice, not sure if you still can, but you could add some and syn them. Or cooked /tinned fruit, eg cooked apple. I guess you could add a b choice or 2’s worth of that and then divide the whole thing by 8.
anyway, it is something you can play around with. I need stodge sometimes and this has a nice cakey texture.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 05/11/2023 08:56

@BelandtheDragon oh and I added a tsp baking powder to lighten it a bit. Last weekend I made one with cooked apple and cinnamon and served it with custard as a pudding. It needs sweetener though!

That looks very tasty!

TomWambsgansSwans · 06/11/2023 21:51

@BelandtheDragon I was honestly cringing as I stood in the queue so to have a loss is brilliant for me!

I did an SP week a few weeks ago and it really knocked me off - I restricted too hard and can't get back into it since as I was starving for days afterwards. Really daft if me.

RedPony1 · 07/11/2023 13:14

Rejoined yesterday. Previously had a SW 4st loss i kept off for 5 years. Then covid hit and i got fat again!!

pelagra · 08/11/2023 08:53

I can't do SP, it makes me ravenously hungry and I end up eating everything in sight.

I'm four weeks into going alone. In that time I have lost 2lb, which is exactly what I wanted. I aim to be a stone lighter by Easter. Fast loss doesn't suit me, but a slow steady plod with some flexibility seems OK. I did try to switch to Online membership, mainly to keep the food lists and scanner on the App, but thee were technical difficulties so I gave up.

Welcome @RedPony1 You know you can do it, which is half the battle
