Pound and a half off, so got my stone award. I've completed my 12 free weeks, and can't decide whether to go it alone, or switch to online membership.
I don't think I benefit from being weighed, as I weigh myself more than once a day at home! I get a little from the class if I stay, but never enough to outweigh the feeling that I've just lost 2 hours of my life.

I have another 2 stone to go, but I'd rather lose it slowly. I'd like to be a stone lighter by Easter.

Any opinions on how well going it alone works?

HoldingPatterns · 04/10/2023 19:48

Well done Pelagra. I’ve never been to a group so can’t compare but I get on fine online. Another loss this week taking my total to 18.5 lbs since end of July, I’ve gone off piste a lot 😂.

I’ve struggled this week and so did a pre-weigh in weigh in, I reckon I’ve put 2lbs on 😱 not great for only my 3rd weigh in 🤦‍♀️ I’ve eaten the wrong things this week, didn’t rein myself back in after the weekend, and I’ve also been retaining water, I can feel myself all puffy and my rings are tight. I also didn’t eat nearly enough superfree food, I can see looking back at my diary that there’s loads of free but not enough veg, and not enough water. Lesson learned! I’ve also had the last 4 weekends with social plans, this weekend is my last one and then I will be off the social events for a while, and I think I’m going to try to do a month off drinking to give my health/sleep/weight loss a boost.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/10/2023 09:02

@thenewaveragebear1983 tbh I rarely drink on sw as begrudge losing syns on it

I Havnt eaten much superfree foods this week either

But stayed in my syns and eaten a lot of free food so hope for a loss tomorrow

thenewaveragebear1983 · 05/10/2023 09:05

@Blondeshavemorefun yes it’s very costly on the Syns isn’t it? I only really drink wine as well, I do like g&t but can’t drink it on a night out as it is too sweet and keeps me awake. Wine is 35syns a bottle 😱 unfortunately my previous weeks have been unavoidable food/drink fests and my aim had been to limit the damage as much as possible, I feel like I can start properly now the calendar is clearer.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/10/2023 09:23

Fingers crossed

I like gin but think a shot of it is 4 syns

I prefer a bag of crisps 😂

LeftyLou · 05/10/2023 13:34

Hi everyone again! 😀

It seems to be a long time since I posted. Can't find when the last time I did. I just have not been focusing on loosing weight at all. But I've been loosing money though as still been going to group and I had a loss of half a lbs this week. My first loss in at least 4 months. To make it worse those times haven't been maintained but a steady gain each week.

Anyway. This is it! I am determined to do it this time. I feel its now or never. Two weeks a go when it was 13 weigh ins til Christmas I made a challenge to lose a stone I now have 13.5 to go in 11 weeks. Think that is doable.

My starting weight was 13 stone 1.
Yesterday after weigh in it was 13 stone 4.5🙈 so I am using that as my starting weight for on here.

Starting 13 stone 4.5
Interim 12 stone
Target 9 stone

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/10/2023 14:14

Waves to @LeftyLou we are all coming back

Yes a stone Bt Xmas hopefully is doable for us all

PieonaBarm · 05/10/2023 16:59

I want a stone before Christmas too, before the 17th really as I go away for a few days then! But it's my birthday this week and I am drinking gin!!

LeftyLou · 05/10/2023 17:33

@Blondeshavemorefun thankyou 😊

@PieonaBarm happy birthday for this week 🥳

thenewaveragebear1983 · 05/10/2023 19:14

Put on 1.5lbs, totally deserved. It’s out of my control til Sunday morning but after Sunday I’m on it super-charged!!

Ralphiesaurus · 05/10/2023 19:54

Surprise 1lb gain this evening, but as I've lost 7.5lb in the past two weeks (which I don't completely believe) I'm ok with that. I know I haven't "cheated" so it will all even out. Is probably water after I had a very salty dinner last night and leftovers for lunch today!

pelagra · 05/10/2023 21:22

Sympathy to everyone who had a gain this week. Even when I know it's coming I don't like that feeling.

See if you can guess what we harvested this week

B Shreddies, almond milk. A pear
L Jacket potato, cottage cheese, home-made coleslaw with cabbage, carrot gherkins, celery. A pear
D Leek and ham cottage pie, pear and chocolate pudding (8 syns)
Snacks Pear, Greek yoghurt

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/10/2023 21:43

Sorry for gains. Hopefully next week will be better for all

B fruit and yog
L pitta b chicken salad sc 1.5 cheese a
T lamb burger 4.5 sw chips veg

A crisps 5

thenewaveragebear1983 · 05/10/2023 22:12

I knew my gain was coming. I really wanted to bunk off and miss group but I think it was a sign of my new attitude that I went along to face the music and draw a line.

Rainsdropskeepfalling · 05/10/2023 22:19

@thenewaveragebear1983 that's a good way of putting it. I did the same a few weeks ago - knew I was going to have a gain but also knew if I skipped the weigh in I'd not take the next week seriously....

I lost this week but have eaten anything and everything today so currently not feeling good!

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/10/2023 23:47

Well done for still going

Next week will be a loss I'm sure

BelandtheDragon · 06/10/2023 07:54

Hi everyone, lost one pound yesterday. Pleased with that as I’ve not been too bad but could have done better. If I lost 1 pound per week over next couple of months, that would be fine. I used to think that a pound was nothing but realising more that it counts so happy with it. I’m finding myself snacking more in evenings. Nothing very drastic but it all adds up. I’ve ran 20km this week and hoping to run more at weekend so feeling this is helping but I’ve learned a valuable lesson previously that I can’t eat back exercise calories so avoiding that.
My BMI is now around 25.9 so very happy with that. I think I was about 31 or so when I started. Next big milestone for me is to lose 1.5pounds to take me to 11 stone. 2 pounds would be my 2.5 stone award. Nothing planned yet for today but going to try and not resort to too many treats today because it’s the weekend. I think if I can get through the weekend without sabotaging myself, I’ll be well set up for next week.
Good luck to everyone for weekend and week ahead!

BelandtheDragon · 06/10/2023 08:00

Just wanted to add a comment about going to group if you’re able, I’d really recommend it. While I sometimes roll my eyes a bit, overall I feel it helps and makes me feel more set up for the week either to keep going if you’ve had a loss or to draw a line under it and a new start if you’ve had a gain. My group is very small but I find it very worthwhile. I need that accountability and I’ve certainly felt at times that I won’t go but always gone since I started in May and only missed due to holidays. I buy 6 week blocks at a time.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 06/10/2023 08:01

Well done @BelandtheDragon , sounds like you’re in your groove now. I agree about the 1lbs, it does add up and it will make a difference. Those days of losing 5lbs a week are a distant memory!

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/10/2023 08:53

Well done @BelandtheDragon

Yes a lb doesn't seem much but it's slow and steady and after a year that's just under 4 stone !!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/10/2023 08:53

2lbs off this week. Whoop. That's 11 lbs

Does happy dance

BelandtheDragon · 06/10/2023 08:55

Well done @Blondeshavemorefun !! You’re nearly at 1 stone. It’s a great feeling.

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/10/2023 08:55

Yes. I have been really good

I know it works if I stick at it x
