Hi @LeftyLou . Do you remember After 8's being 1 syn, or just a couple of us, lol?!

Just weighed, 4.5lb off!! I've not been perfect but I'm extremely pleased and so glad I joined last week now. I was going to treat myself to chicken fried rice from the chippy on the way home but instead I'm going to go to Tesco and make it myself after that!!

@PieonaBarm that is amazing!!! Well done 😊

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants I think I've always remembered 2syns. How far back you thinking?

2lbs off for me. Happy with that.

Can I join you please?

I've just started, 5 weeks on and I've lost just over a stone, can't quite believe it! Loving the plan so far,so much easier than the old WW which I did years ago.

Well done on your losses, everyone!

I've been less on plan than I could have been. But lunch yesterday was with a friend I only see about once a year. I didn't eat in the evening- didn't need to! So hopefully not too damaging.

It will be veg soup for lunch today, so another opportunity to claw back some progress!

I've started to see things that way now- meal by meal rather than on plan or off plan. Each meal is an opportunity to eat lots of speed and protein, and avoid syns. Every meal that's like that is a success. Around the edges are some treats and occasional off plan meals.

Can I jump in, started again in September with aim of 1.5 stone by Christmas, ended up 1lb off 2 stone so really happy with that. Won’t be able to weigh on this week at group but will do at home… hoping to minimise damage over next couple of weeks and then jump back on board post Christmas! After 8s being 1 syn would be ace! They are my favourite Christmas treat (hence buying dh some for his stocking!)

Can I just ask - does anyone know if I can go to a visiting group without my card?

I'm away for Xmas and realised I've left my card at home! Shock

@LeftyLou about a year I think? Damn, wishful thinking on my part Xmas Grin Hi @MrsPelligrinoPetrichor @Holly60 I have been to group without my card, but it was my local group, who knew me, so I don't know about ID? Is it worth ringing SW head office maybe?

Report
SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 22/12/2022 08:32

Sorry @Dontsparethehorses definitely 2 syns! I made the SW ferrero roches (sp) they come out at about 1.5 syns, but less if you use your bread/B healthy extra. They were actually pretty good though. But for half a syn more, probs not worth messing about with, unless for a buffet or something.

Report
Dontsparethehorses · 22/12/2022 10:36

Yeah at this time of year I have no capacity for baking right now @SpongeBobJudgeyPants but good to know . Ponders chocolate orange slices but sadly just checked and they are also 2 syns. 7 in one sitting sounds do able - just need to be syn free the rest of the day 😂

PieonaBarm · 22/12/2022 10:39

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants my leader was dishing after eights out in group last night 😂 she said "they're 2.5 syns - if you're counting" and this is why I love her and should never have cheated on her by going to a slightly closer group!

Checking in! I lost five stone over a couple of years, but over the last year 2 have crept back on as I have lacked discipline. I know I can do it again, and I need to as i barely have any clothes that fit me now, and I cannot afford another new wardrobe! I am getting Christmas out of the way, then starting proper on 2nd January!

Channeling my inner SW group leader, @DeltaAlphaDelta79 - do you want to start 2023 2lb lighter, or 2 lb heavier?!

You know the plan- major on speed, and make sure you really actually want any syns that cross your path!

I'm all in favour of really enjoying every syn- just don't eat any absentmindedly, or just because!

Hi @DeltaAlphaDelta79 . @PieonaBarm I think it's worth going to a good class, even if you have to pass a not so good one. I changed cos Clare's Slinky Slimmers wasn't motivating me! A few of us have done the same. I could go nearer, but the morning class nearest to me is run by someone I did WW with years ago, and I don't like her much! It has to be the right person for me,otherwise I have no chance of it working long term. How are you doing @LightandAiry

Thank you @picklemewalnuts I do get it, and of course I dont want to start 2023 2lb heavier....but....I am so far now from where I want to be, it really doesn't matter. I know where I want to be, and I know how to get there. I am not going mad mad over christmas, but I wont be counting syns. I have drawn my line, and thats it! Promise 😃

Hello! Yes a good class makes all the difference. My group leader is great, although I must confess I do prefer not to stay for the chat after, I just go for the accountability for the weigh in.

Yes, if I didn't at least weigh in, I would be the size of small house in no time at all! DH feels the same, often just weighs in, doesn't stay for the Happy Clappy part!

Yes I find all the clapping and cheering a little odd if I am honest!

Yes thats what mine said too! I have just cancelled tomorrow's weigh in, as its been a crap week and I am away next week anyway, so a good excuse to just crack on with xmas, and start NY as planned 😁

Hi @LightandAiry can I join please?
I've done SW in the past with good results buta combination of ill health and stress made me gain weight.

However I'm now better and ready to get healthier. Don't want to be too strict with myself, want to be gentle but also need to lose some weight.

I'll be doing it at home, still got all the books etc. Starting once DC go back to school.

So here's me...

Starting weight...
5 foot tall, weighing 14.1. BMI 38.6 I think.

Welcome to all new people :) there has been some great losses recently.

@Holly60 I forgot my card once and they had to give me a new one.

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants
Would you be able to share the Ferrero rocher recipe please?

Agree with going to a group that might be further away but better. Since moving house I still go to the same one because I think the consultant is so lovely and the people too. It used to be 5 mins away now it's about 40 mins.

When is something a tweak? In the new magazine there is a section on soup and at the bottom it gives ideas for extras. One is using a pitta bread to make pitta chips / croutons. Would this be a tweak?

Hi @Decafflatteplease of course you can join, stress is hard on weight, but I try and think of it as something I can control and it's good to at least start planning before Christmas. It's good you're feeling better.

That Ferrero Rocher sounds genius @SpongeBobJudgeyPants but can't get my head round it! I suppose it's a variation on fruity ryvita. I am wondering whether to leave SW now I have my app.

@LeftyLou I suppose that would be a tweak with the pitta croutons. My SIL has done pitta chips before, they were lovely

Welcome to everyone new, thanks for joining us :)

Hi All. This is the recipe, but I prefer Ryvita. Hope it explains. Just mash and mix essentially.
