All welcome Smile I joined Slimming World in November and so far lost 9.5lb, a bit of a gain over Christmas but getting there - I have around 3 stone to lose and I am looking forward to fitting into clothes not worn for a long time and have a big family wedding coming up. I would like to look like the slim, glamourous Aunt in the photos (without upstaging the bride!) Grin

Not had breakfast yet I am doing poached eggs, beans, roasted tomatoes, mushrooms and toast.

Well done everyone. That sounds delicious @GettinTrimmer, I had multigrain hoops, not in the same league!
Just back from weigh in, had holiday last week as away for weekend. 1lb off which makes a stone since I started on 9 Oct, so slow and steady!

Discussion was about breakfasts and lunch. Banana pancakes were mentioned and there was some discussion about whether you had to count the banana or not.

Duck legs and stir fry tonight so will be a few syns in them but it is Saturday after all!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 15/01/2022 13:50

@GettinTrimmer thanks. Hopefully you'll crack it next week. Yes, my knees are very pleased I'm losing weight. IIRC a stone lost, is 3 stone less on your knees effectively.

GettinTrimmer · 15/01/2022 17:03

Ordering Papa John's pizza with a butternut squash base! 2 slices for me with a large salad. I am investigating the syns which is the wrong way round I know

Wilma well done on your 1 lb and your stone. That will be me next week!
Confused
SpongeBobJudgeyPants 3 stone less on the knees? No wonder I'm lighter on my feet!

OP posts:
GettinTrimmer · 15/01/2022 17:05

Excuse the Confused it went in the wrong place was supposed to be after going on about not investigating syns first!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 15/01/2022 18:06

Lol. What are the syns btw? Don't reply if it's all a bit.... Have just bought the M & S bar things that are like a naked bar, but probs not as big. They're 6.5 syns each, which I thought was quite high.

Wilma55 · 15/01/2022 19:55

Here are the syns....

Dry January to Decadent December: Slimming World Support Thread 2022
GettinTrimmer · 16/01/2022 09:09

Oops....had a few slices!

Thanks Wilma for the syns. Have gone very over 15 yesterday. The syns system and tracking has stopped me from having too many biscuits with coffee in the evening and at least I am aware.

I am also thinking about unlimited rice, pasta & potatoes. Slimming World says 1/3 of the plate. It seems to me they mean an unlimited amount to fit on 1/3 of plate pile as high as you want, not 2 massive jacket potatoes which is the whole plate. Nor cooking a batch of slimming World chips in-between meals, should go for speed free or use syns

I have taken myself off for a walk and having skimmed milk cappuccino in Costa 4.5 syns. A bit of destressing dealing with DM's flat purchase and being made to jump through hoops.

The pre Slimming World me would have bought a caramel shortbread with it, but not worth the syns if I am to have stuffing and gravy with Sunday dinner!

Have a good day all.o

I made a big pan of soup yesterday and currently enjoying with a ham salad pitta. Snacking on fruit. Not sure what to do for tea tonight as DH on a later so didn’t get anything out to defrost. Maybe tuna pasta with speed veggies

Wilma55 · 16/01/2022 14:28

Went off the rails yesterday evening. Duck legs were 9 syns each, had with stir fry and hoi sin sauce. 2 glasses of wine. OH made a lemon meringue pie which I had about 1/4 and didn't count. Then I had about 4 Roses and 3 Ferrero rocher!
Lamb shanks Moroccan style today in slow cooker but forgot to cut the fat off! On the plus side did go for a walk but not a good weekend. How's everyone cope with weekends?

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 16/01/2022 16:52

I think it's more difficult when there is more time to sit about. I've bought some of the Skinny Dream Rocky Road bars. They are 3 S, or 2 counts as a HB which helps stretch my S allowance. I've bought a couple of packs as I'm on a short break next week, and tend to snack more as there is part of my brain saying "You're on your hollies". Grin

ListenLinda · 16/01/2022 20:15

Currently enjoying a options hot choc, as I wanted something sweet, but nothing to eat. Have Options changed their recipe since the last time I did slimming world? It’s delicious and actually tastes like it should!

To a PP, I cope with weekends by planning. And making sure there is something ready to grab. When I went food shopping yesterday, I was hungry. A week ago I would of opened one of the packs of biscuits, but opened the apples instead. Go me Grin If i had opened the biscuits, the day would have been writen off, then the weekend too. I just have to stick to the plan I make about the food i’m going to eat.

GettinTrimmer · 18/01/2022 09:24

Very frosty this morning where I am. Very pleased I don't have to go anywhere and de-ice the car. How are you all doing?

ListenLinda well done on avoiding the biscuits that's dedication. I like Options hot chocolate too, had a few over Christmas with lower fat squirty cream and marshmallows inspired by the talk before Christmas about alternatives to syn busting coffee shops!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants enjoy your break

Wilma My butternut squash pizza was more syns at the weekend. I wouldn't recommend it, I was disappointed with it.

OP posts:
Wilma55 · 18/01/2022 11:04

@GettinTrimmer shame about the pizza, maybe something we have to live without. Someone at group rated the Lodough base, other reviews say like cardboard! Don't think I could just have a slice (1/6th?)

Frosty here too. While OH went for a swim I put my jigging around the sitting room playing on! Did it most days in first lockdown but it's somehow got forgotten. Only 20 minutes but better than nothing.

Think I'm back under control now after high syn weekend.
I checked back 9n Mfp this morning and am still a couple of pounds over what I was at start of first lockdown and had just come back from a cruise then!

ListenLinda · 18/01/2022 19:36

Diet cola chicken was on the menu tonight - was lovely. Had to stop myself picking at the leftovers as I was full and comfortably so. Think that’s something I’m still learning.

Got a cracking headache tonight though, work became really hectic in the afternoon so didn’t deink enough water. Snaffled a two finger kit kat when eldest was dropped off after school - was within syns though. Still plenty for my nightly hot chocolate! I’m finding that its a great way for me to satisfy my sweet tooth when I don’t want to actually eat anything.

LeftyLou · 20/01/2022 11:12

Lost 1.5 this week, so after last weeks gain I am 1 stone 1 lbs off altogether.

My weekends can he hard going too sometimes @Wilma55. I try and plan my syns out as best I can so I am not missing out. But I tend to go far over them. I need to get it into my head that I don't need to do that and I am not missing out.

I am away for my partner's birthday next weekend so I won't be on plan then. My aim is to have a good loss this week and hopefully maintain the week after.

The diet cola chicken is very nice I have made it with Pepsi before. Glad you liked it @ListenLinda Smile I am going to make the orange chicken on Monday.

After weigh in last night I went to the shop and got a 4 pack of twirls, salt and vinegar pringles and some chicken Kiev bites. I ate it all!!! Is TOTM but I need to stop this! As I know this is where I won't see the results I want.

LittleDoritt · 20/01/2022 15:12

0.5 off for me this week but my head is in a good place which is worth more to me than what the scales say. My eating is 100% better and I reckon it'll translate onto the scales at some point.

Going to have a catch up with the thread now and see what you've all been up to.

ListenLinda · 20/01/2022 19:50

First weigh in, 5.5lb off for me. Having a beige tea and it’s been a mega rush, was told last night back to office and had no time to prep. Been on plan all day so far though.
I will sit and write next weeks meals later on too.

Wilma55 · 20/01/2022 20:37

That's a great result @ListenLinda. They didn't give you much notice re returning to office. Do you find it easier being on plan when in the office? I'm retired but am better out of the house, away from temptation!

Yorkshireteaalwayswins · 20/01/2022 20:53

1.5 off for me this week which is good but I was hoping for a bit more. Annoyed tonight as I just went to a Zumba class and pulled my hamstring. So no more classes for me for a while 😞 Very frustrating!
Congratulations @ListenLinda what a great first weigh in! I definitely find meal planning helps me so I’m not just grabbing whatever I can.
@Wilma55 I agree, I’m definitely better when I’m out of the house or working in the office!

LittleDoritt · 20/01/2022 21:02

Well done Linda. Brilliant first weigh in!

Congrats Lefty and Yorkshire. The loses are adding up nicely.

ListenLinda · 21/01/2022 05:49

@Wilma55 if i had more notice, It would have been fine. As it was, I tried to pick the healthiest option when I went to Tesco to buy something.

When i’m in the office I take my own lunch and I would take fruit, but I didn’t have anything that I could pre prepare yesterday.
At home, i’m up and down to the kettle and the biscuits are there… last week was okay because I had all my fruit. I think it’s about being prepared for me.

GettinTrimmer · 21/01/2022 19:59

Hi all, I've had a bad week. I'll find out the damage tomorrow. I've not been tracking but hopefully it wont be a disaster.

ListenLinda I know what you mean about prep. It makes a big difference. Well done great loss.

LittleDorrit nice to see you and well done that is going in the right direction

LeftyLou well done on your 1.5lb

Yorkshireteaalwayswins great result 1.5lb too!

Hopefully you all won't need to commiserate too much with me tomorrow.

GettinTrimmer · 22/01/2022 09:11

Morning all, lost 3lb Smile I think due to having a lot going on causing me stress, not kept track very well!

How are you all doing?

OP posts:
SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 22/01/2022 12:49

Hi All. Just back from the Isle of Man early hours, so a bit zombified still. Well done on all the losses everyone. @GettinTrimmer that's a good loss, though I'm sure you could have done without the stress. I've not counted much while I was away, but I've walked with the dogs, and had a very nice walk along Douglas prom yesterday, so I'm hoping there was some damage limitation... Either way, I need to be back on plan pronto, and not let it slip into extra days, rather like Christmas can. I think I have a problem with that sod it, I'm on my holidays. Would be ok, but we tend to have a few short breaks, when we go to see DD etc, so they add up unfortunately!
