All welcome Smile I joined Slimming World in November and so far lost 9.5lb, a bit of a gain over Christmas but getting there - I have around 3 stone to lose and I am looking forward to fitting into clothes not worn for a long time and have a big family wedding coming up. I would like to look like the slim, glamourous Aunt in the photos (without upstaging the bride!) Grin

Sorry. Double post! Just seen your NSV @Wilma55. That is so brilliant.

LittleDoritt · 01/02/2022 12:49

2.5lbs off for me today so finally got that stone award!

GettinTrimmer · 01/02/2022 15:04

Fabulous news LittleDorrit Daffodil

LeftyLou yes everything was fresh and exciting at 17! Good luck with next weigh in. I seem to be doing better this week had 2 ryvitas, Hexa babybel lights and fruit for lunch. Chinese takeaway for dinner. Not going mad as much as I would like chips and curry sauce!

Wilma55 · 01/02/2022 15:12

Well done @LittleDoritt!

I had lunch out at pizza express. Usually have Leggera pizza with salad in the middle but lowest is 17 syns for margarita. Looked at Italian in the guide and went for spaghetti bol which is 9 syns (presumably as pasta is free?)
On the Pizzexpress website there are 482 cals in that pizza and 674 in the spag bol. So did I do the right thing? Another 9 for 175ml of red wine. Enjoyed it and won't want much else to eat today.

LittleDoritt · 01/02/2022 21:30

Thank you! I'm chuffed, January was so hard - it took me forever to get going again after Christmas, but have managed five pounds in the last two weeks which is much more like it.

Predictably this week is a really busy one for me so it's going to be so hard to keep the momentum going. Had a carvery lunch today and no idea how to even start synning that. I was going to have some Covent Garden tomato and basil soup for dinner but its 5 syns so I had a hifi bar and some watermelon instead for 3. Not a great choice but I'm too tired to cook something "proper". It's that kind of thinking that annoys me about Slimming World, so I totally get where you are coming from with your Pizza Express lunch Wilma.

Hope your daughter had a lovely birthday Trimmer!

Where has @SpongeBobJudgeyPants got to?

Wilma55 · 02/02/2022 08:10

@LittleDoritt if you want to syn your carvery, the Toby Carvery is on the app which is a starting point.

I ended up with a banana and skinny crunch bar for my tea.

Yorkshireteaalwayswins · 02/02/2022 17:32

Hi everyone apologies for the silence, I had Covid and missed last weeks weigh in. I'm really confused though because despite not tracking and eating anything that tasted good because I was miserable, I've lost 2lbs! How has that happened? I was dreading tonight and yet it's good news. Flummoxed.
Well done to everyone who posted since my last post, there are some amazing successes going on!

Wilma55 · 03/02/2022 07:01

@Yorkshireteaalwayswins I hope you are feeling OK now?
Well done on your loss. Although "they" says its just calories in v calories out, weight loss seems to be less scientific than that! You probably ate less than you think but whatever happened its at least something good to come out of covid.

LeftyLou · 03/02/2022 17:57

2 lbs on for me this week! That is okay with a time away. I am thinking of getting the 12 week countdown next week.

There is some great losses this week Smile

I have a question about sweetner. As it is free for 1 teaspoon is every other one then synned? For example if I was to have weetabix with a tsp sweetner and then later on in the day for a snack I had strawberries with a tsp sweetner would I have to syn that one? Hope this makes sense.

Wilma55 · 03/02/2022 19:10

@LeftyLou Looking at sucralose for example, I tsp is free, 1 tbs is 1/2syn. Not sure what you do if you have them at separate times.

GettinTrimmer · 05/02/2022 09:48

Morning everyone, weighed in at group, and I lost 3lb; also won Slimmer of the Week. I am very pleased.

I went over my syns (up to about 17/20 syns 3 days) the stress of getting my DM settled may have added to the weight loss.

I have a blood test coming up soon to check blood sugar. It will be amazing if I am no longer pre-diabetic. Also my blood pressure (I have a monitor that tells me) has dropped from having moderate hypertension to mild hypertension.

How are you all doing?

Wilma55 · 05/02/2022 10:54

@GettinTrimmer you are living up to your name, that's a fantastic loss.

My WI wasn't as good but this week the wavering scales hovered from a sts to a 1/2 lb loss and stuck on the loss. Hurrah that's my 10%. Lots of new members at group who'd lost between 5 and 7.5 lbs!

Did you know if you stay at your 10% loss weight or less, for 10 weeks you get a free week?

GettinTrimmer · 05/02/2022 16:29

Good to know Wilma55 I have 1lb to go for Club 10. If I lose 2lb it will be a double whammy of 1.5 stone and Club 10 🤞

Hi all, been absent for a few days, just been hectic. 0.5lb on which im okay about after the brunch last weekend.
Reigning it in this week, got a chicken in the oven, roasties on the go and going to prep my speed veg soon.
Hows everyones weekends going?

Wilma55 · 09/02/2022 08:45

Weekend was OK thanks, had a Saturday night sw iceland meal fest! Korean beef & Salt n pepper chow mein. Partner had spare ribs too. It was last chance to use the sw voucher! Enjoyed it and no syns.
Made the St Clements cakes from the mag too. Quite nice but take ages to beat the eggs and sugar together.
Had a few glasses of wine too!

GettinTrimmer · 09/02/2022 13:21

I like the look of those cakes Wilma55 I have made recipes beating eggs and sugar I agree. What sugar did you use?

Went for a walk into town 12,000 steps but I had a slice of Cafe Nero cappuccino cake. 22.5 syns....oops!

OP posts:
Wilma55 · 09/02/2022 16:26

@GettinTrimmer just granulated as per the recipe. I used some ready made icing I had in. I've just been to a reading group, had a small bit of cake - would have been rude not to! Well done on the walk.

Yorkshireteaalwayswins · 09/02/2022 19:06

Well done @GettinTrimmer those are some good steps! I need to get to Iceland to get some SW meals. Are there any in particular you like @wilma55? I definitely want to get the colcannon mash.
Weigh in tonight was good, 1lb off so that’s 7.5 in total and my first half stone is gone! Very happy but I’m away this weekend so I need to keep control.

LeftyLou · 09/02/2022 19:53

2.5 off this week so a 0.5 loss for the month so far. 1 stone 2 altogether.

Well done on half a stone @Yorkshireteaalwayswins

Thanks Wilma Smile think I'll keep it as free.

GettinTrimmer · 10/02/2022 10:19

"LeftyLou* well done on your 2.5lb

Yorkshireteaalwayswins half stone, that's great! I had the Iceland mushy pea curry. It was OK but I prefer the cauliflower daal. I like the chip shop curry sauce.

I have rashly signed up to do a Clubbercise class but not until 22nd February. Before that I can go for swift walks in to try and get a little fitter. 90s style club music, very energetic....Hmm I did it 2 years ago before lockdown. I feel lighter on my feet and hoping I will have a semblance of keeping up!!

For food, I have planned half of my Hexb 2 ryvita with cheese salad for early lunch before going on a walk, and SW chips, beans and free veggie sausages for dinner, followed by fruit salad. Cutting syns today to compensate for the cake yesterday!

Blondeshavemorefun!!!! Brilliant to see you Smile very well done on your stone Blondes.

I am also going to join your thread! Will help keep me even more on the.straight and narrow. Will post after tea this evening.

Yesterday evening watching TV with DH he got himself a bag of crisps. My downfall, I had a bag of plain baked crisps, then ryvitas with low fat cream cheese. Crisps just set me off. Just been for a fast walk uphill so hoping for a loss tomorrow, as if it will make up for extra calories consumed 🤞

How are you all doing?

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/02/2022 14:31
