Dry January to Decadent December: Slimming World Support Thread 2022

All welcome Smile I joined Slimming World in November and so far lost 9.5lb, a bit of a gain over Christmas but getting there - I have around 3 stone to lose and I am looking forward to fitting into clothes not worn for a long time and have a big family wedding coming up. I would like to look like the slim, glamourous Aunt in the photos (without upstaging the bride!) Grin

I was just previewing and hit post instead of edit!

Wilma55 · 08/11/2022 11:17

Did you prep the All bran the night before with the yogurt @LightandAiry ?ight try mixing some Allbran with another hexb cereal. Good for other issues too! 💩

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/11/2022 12:17

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 08/11/2022 14:45

Rice pudding with diet lemonade. Good suggestion @Blondeshavemorefun Hope you are ok after your jabs @LightandAiry

LightandAiry · 08/11/2022 15:14

@Wilma55 no would make it soggy?

LightandAiry · 08/11/2022 15:16

Thanks @SpongeBobJudgeyPants I have a lot to do but went to sleep on the sofa! Hopefully I'll be OK for work tomorrow - working from home.

LightandAiry · 08/11/2022 15:24

I find porridge doesn't fill me up DahliasRule I do like it though

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 08/11/2022 15:33

Porridge would fill me up, if it was about three times the size of the HexB allowance!

Dahliasrule · 09/11/2022 12:52

Did not get to WI yesterday as I had a dreadful migraine, That gives me a week to get back to following plan properly.

LeftyLou · 09/11/2022 20:41

How is everyone doing? I had a 2 lbs loss this week so definitely on the way to getting the gain off 😀 thankyou everyone for your kind words.

I am going to try the rice pudding with soda cream. That sounds very interesting.

Hope you're feeling better @Dahliasrule

Apparently they are getting rid of a lot of the ready meals at Iceland til January to make room for Christmas ones.

Dahliasrule · 09/11/2022 20:52

Well done, LeftyLou! Yes, better today thank you, except for that post migraine tiredness. Will be fighting fit tomorrow, hopefully.
Perhaps that’s why the freezers were so empty at Iceland last week. Usually go on a Tuesday but migraine messed that up as well yesterday.

LeftyLou · 11/11/2022 12:26

I have seen Pinch Of Nom do a tomato soup which sounds quite nice so going to try that along with a pitta and melted cheese for lunch.

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/11/2022 13:58

Well done @LeftyLou

i gained a lb. Not suprised

LightandAiry · 12/11/2022 08:03

Just weighed in, very pleased to say lost the 1.5lb I gained last week. I've decided to reward myself every time I lose 1.5lb but not with food!

I don't enjoy my group any more, a few people have left. Does anyone have any experience of online? @Blondeshavemorefun I think you do online?

@LeftyLou how was the soup?well done on that 2lb loss.

@Dahliasrule sorry to hear you were unwell. Migraines are horrid.

I woke at 3am with tension headache and ache right side of my neck and up my face. Sitting badly all day working I think.

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants I'm with you on the oats front. I'm off to Wetherspoons for breakfast in a while though, I'd like to lose 2lb next week so will try and make wise choices!

Carpediem15 · 12/11/2022 12:23

Just got back from weigh in - don't know what is happening. + 1.5 last week and now - 2.5 this morning. Never lost 2.5 in a week in my life. Ate almost the same food both weeks to see if I had another gain this week.
Half a stone to go for target, moved it down today a little as I want my clothes comfy not a bit stretched and hopefully have time before my pre booked classes run out then I can go for free.😆

LeftyLou · 12/11/2022 18:56

@Carpediem15 half a stone to target that's brilliant! Also well done on your 2.5 lbs loss 😁

@LightandAiry the soup was very nice thankyou. I had to swap and change a few ingredients depending on what was in the cupboard.
Well done on the loss. How are you rewarding yourself?

@Blondeshavemorefun sorry about the gain. You'll have that back off in no time.

Wilma55 · 13/11/2022 10:39

Well done @Carpediem15 and @LightandAiry. I sts at wi yesterday, was a bit disappointed. Only 5 weeks to cruise and I need to shift 6lbs to get into some of my 👗 dresses! Been linedancing twice a week but it doesn't seem to be helping.

Dahliasrule · 13/11/2022 11:44

Yes, well done Carpediem15 and LightandAiry. I have been totally off plan this week. I keep telling myself I’ll be better tomorrow. Dreading scales on Tuesday. Think I should stay to class to get some motivation.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 13/11/2022 13:07

Well done to losers, comiserations to gainers. At least we're carrying on. Apparently at my class, consultant has had a few peeps saying they won't be back until January. Dread to think how much damage I could do in that time. I lost a pound. I'm making soup again today, from a couple of squashes and various sundry veg. Never the same soup twice in ChezSponge! @LightandAiry what will your reward that you mentioned upthread?

LightandAiry · 13/11/2022 14:52

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants My reward....I've booked a 1 - 1 yoga session tomorrow training to do some more energetic stuff like Salute to the Sun (if anyone does yoga...) & after I've done chores, cup of tea & a good book!

The fact we're carrying on is brilliant - I've felt like chucking it in.

I had a text from my GPs surgery to ask if I'd like to do a course learning to prevent type 2 diabetes; my risk is moderate, but as it's free I thought I'd give it a go, shame it's not 12 weeks free at SW!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 13/11/2022 15:16

One to one session sounds fab @LightandAiry . I do yoga, and salute to the sun! Would be good to have someone correct my positions/breathing sometimes, as I suspect I don't always get it right. I keep intending to do more at home, but there isn't a good room to do it in with enough room, without heating it specially! I could do more than I actually do though, and even sitting cross legged for a bit would help me I suspect, and yoga teacher says she does cobra and stuff in bed, when she's reading.

LightandAiry · 15/11/2022 16:08

Hi @SpongeBobJudgeyPants yoga went well, practicing child pose, into cobra then downward facing dog. Practiced that at home. Hope you're doing OK.

How is everyone else doing? I have had an unfocused 3 days, delayed roast dinner this evening.

Dahliasrule · 15/11/2022 19:39

Weigh in tonight and I was very surprised to have lost a lb! That makes the half stone. I am thrilled.
LightandAiry, I was given a voucher for a 12 week SW course because I was pre diabetic. I am very grateful as it was the kick I needed. They did phone me and ask me several questions including had I been to SW recently.
LightandAiry, and SpongeBobJudgeyPants, I think yoga is great exercise. I feel too overweight to do it at the moment and also seem to have lost my sense of balance since my last bout of Covid.
Anyway, have a good week everyone.

LeftyLou · 16/11/2022 22:23

A maintain this week. Wasn't the best so feel quite lucky with that. Will do better next week.

Dahliasrule · 16/11/2022 22:57

LeftyLou, that’s the spirit!
