B - fruit and yoghurt

L - duck thai curry and 2 pints cider in the pub 😳 40 syns according to the app

D - homecooked roast beef with baked potato, carrots, Brussels and broccoli (no yorkshires!)

S - 30g peanuts (heb)

Had a massive shop delivered, planning my meals for this week now!

FiveNightsAtMummys · 29/12/2019 23:30

Lost 1 and 3/4lb (weighed at home) since 17th dec. I've been trying to balance unhealthy foods by having smaller portions. This hasn't always worked and some days I've over eaten but then other days I've just had cereal for lunch. Massivly overate xmas day to the point I was bent over toilet not sure if I was going to pass out or throw up (thankfully neither). I definitely bought WAY to much food for xmas, I feel totally overwhelmed by it all esp all the chocolate I still have left. Dh has put a stone on in just over a week!

TigerJoy · 30/12/2019 09:57

Ahhh @fivenightsatmummies I'm sorry, that sounds a bit miserable on christmas day! Are you still trying not to lose anymore and just maintain?

Have you tried having a week or two without any unhealthy food and just having 3 meals a day? I find things like sugar and chocolate really addictive but if I give them up completely after a while I stop wanting them and then I can reintroduce in smaller amounts.

I know you don't want to lose anymore but it sounds like you're still finding it hard to have a balance 💐

FiveNightsAtMummys · 30/12/2019 10:47

I am finding it hard tiger. My meals are usually healthy but obviously over Christmas its been things like buffet foods, pizza and crackers. I have had other things like salmon and veg and grilled chicken in tortilla. I think I'm going to give up on chocolate when my stuffs gone or maybe just have dark chocolate when I fancy some but only buy it when I want it rather than having it in just incase. I've ordered some flatbread crackers and dips/ cottage cheeses. I thought they would make a healthy snack and more filling than a bar of chocolate. How you don't mind me posting! I've not been to group for a while and I've not heard a peep out of my consultant which tbh I expected a message, just a "hi" or something. Just goes to show what her priorities are.

TigerJoy · 30/12/2019 12:03

I think we've all been at the buffet over christmas!

It sounds like you're finding this tough and I'm sorry. Is there anything I can do to help? I'm sorry as well you're consultant is being rubbish.

You have massively changed your eating habits to lose so much weight so the good news is you can change them again if they are not working for you xxx

I've lost 4lbs of the christmas weight already.

B - Greek yoghurt, fruit

L- roast beef sandwiches on gluten free bread with beetroot as a side

D - baked haddock, lots of green veg, maybe a potato

Also does anyone here have the sw curry club book? There's a recipe I'd really like out of it but I don't have it and can't see how to buy it

troppibambini · 30/12/2019 14:50

Is it this one tiger?
Sorry your finding things hard @FiveNightsAtMummys Thanks

Daily menu 2 - please come and write what you eat
troppibambini · 30/12/2019 15:02

Ah just googled and it's not the right book, sometimes they repeat recipes which one is it? It might be in here?

FiveNightsAtMummys · 30/12/2019 17:00

Thanks guys sorry I didn't mean to be doom and gloom!!

TigerJoy · 30/12/2019 18:25

Don't worry @fivenightsatmummies if you can't vent here where can you?

Thanks @troppibambini but someone else has sent it to me from my former group

I've buggered up today by having double the bread and 3 bendicks bittermints 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

In my defence the bread slices were TINY but I shouldn't have had more and I have to learn to have smaller portions, clearly!

FiveNightsAtMummys · 30/12/2019 20:00

Today I've had
Special k for breakfast (one of the small mini boxes)

Lunch was pickles, 3 crackers with 1 cheese triangle, 3 pieces of chicken and 3 pieces of chocolate orange and a mini pack of skittles. With a caramel latte.

Tea was chicken in WM pitta with bbq sauce.

After tea I was still really hungry so I had 1 shortbread biscuit, 1x 2 finger kitkat, 1 piece of chocolate orange, 2 crackers with cheese and branston.

Starving but feel disgusting like I've over eaten. Done 35 mins on my walker and been out for a 40 min walk. Going to do another 30 mins on my walker I think as i feel so guilty for eating but I don't have the energy. Binned a box of chocolate a friend got me and several bars of chocolate dh got me. So feel bad about that too. I have 1/2 a choc orange left, 2 little kitkats, 2 rondoir, 1 small bar of dairy milk and lots of mini toblerone. Going to try and bin some pieces of chocolate orange when dh isn't looking as thats my favourite.

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/12/2019 20:42

@TigerJoy is right @FiveNightsAtMummys. You do seem up and down. Don’t feel bad for eating chocolate if in your syns

Last Day TOM of eating bad and back on it in 2020

TigerJoy · 30/12/2019 20:55

@FiveNightsAtMummys if you don't mind me saying, no wonder you're hungry when you're eating so little at meals! It seems like you're starving yourself then eating loads of sugar and feeling bad about it.

I think the number one thing you need to do is stop feeling bad about what you're eating. There are all kinds of reasons why we eat things, and they're often not logical. I know I comfort eat and I also eat to "treat" myself. I've really had to work hard to realise that it's not a "treat" to make myself fat in the end, because I've been eating loads of delicious, mostly healthy food, but covered in fat and far too much of it.

I know you've said before that you're often not really hungry but have you tried eating larger meals? You could have had a big plate of pasta with a nice sw sauce for lunch and you probably wouldn't have felt like chocolate afterwards.

With your dinner you could have had some chips made in an actifry or a baked potato and you would have felt more satisfied. I generally eat less chocolate / crap when I'm satisfied after a meal, and sw encourages that.

I've also found it helpful to have a yoghurt first whenever I crave sweet things (which is at least 4 times a day!). A yoghurt and some fruit and THEN if I still want chocolate I am allowed one portion. That way you still have a treat but you're eating less chocolate.

This is just what works for me - you have to find what works for you which might well be completely different. But you can definitely have one full-sized chocolate bar or piece of cake each day and I suggest you do so.

Remember how well you've done. You have lost LOADS of weight and changed your life! Well done! And please don't feel bad about eating chocolate. It is a great pleasure in life...

TigerJoy · 30/12/2019 20:56

Please also remember whenever I offer advice I rarely follow it myself...that's why I've only lost a stone in 6 months......!

FiveNightsAtMummys · 30/12/2019 21:43

Thank you both. I had been eating more, so i'd maybe of had a jacket potato or rice and veg with tea and for lunch I'd have maybe omlette with beans and cheese and like u say I'd not want as much sugary things after so your 100% spot on with that. I had been having 2 biscuits and a horlicks before bed or a mince pie and options hot choc in the run up to xmas and that satisfied the sugar cravings. BUT because I got given so much chocolate as gifts I feel overwhelmed like I need to eat it to get rid of it. I binned some chocolates earlier, I just want it gone as it's so many calories for hardly anything! But I feel so bad bining it all as dh got me some and the kids so I keep telling myself it's ok I don't have to eat it now I can save it for another time...but then then other side of me says eat it all then it's gone!
I'm suppose to be having some treats tomorrow for Nye and a drink and wed is nyd roast dinner and xmas pudding followed by cream. I'm going to try and enjoy the next 2 days food wise, maybe eat some of the chocolate to get rid (guilt free or at least fake guilt free) and xmas pud and thursday can be reset day. Does that sound ok? Or should I not eat it and bin it? Sorry I don't know why but I feel a bit distressed and lost by it all tonight

TigerJoy · 30/12/2019 22:00

I would say try and enjoy the next few days and eat what sound like lovely meals. Eat some chocolate if you feel like it. You can afford to put on a few pounds and it will not signal the start of a downward spiral.

Lots of skinny people put on a few pounds over christmas and holiday then just cut back after. It's a totally normal thing to do.

Can you manage with not binning it and eating the chocolate later, over time? Or will it stress you out being in the house?

FiveNightsAtMummys · 30/12/2019 23:23

Thank you, I know I'm seeking reassurance (anxiety). I'm gonna enjoy next 2 days. Chocolate wise I just have a few pieces of choc orange, 2 x 2 finger kitkats, 2 truffles, 1 small bar of dairy milk and then I have tiny toblerones (quite a few but I think I'll be ok with them). I've got a few boxes of biscuits but there for us all so I think I should be ok with them too. Thank you again, I'm going to have some soreen or toast before bed as I'm hungry and try to relax.

TigerJoy · 30/12/2019 23:29

That's ok, it's a tough journey. Big hugs 💐

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/12/2019 08:37

@FiveNightsAtMummys you shouldn’t be starving on sw

And looking what you eat I’m not surprised. Doesnt sound filling

And you then seem to binge on sweet stuff after

Which fills a hole then vanished and hungry again

You have done so well.

Just did official weigh in on app and officially 4.5lbs gain which is at least 4lbs less than the reality! Back on it properly and feeling really positive.

I'm going to a party tonight and will have some alcohol but after this back on the wagon properly I think. I hope to eat mostly to plan as I am bringing some healthy salad stuff and some lean meat so will fill up on that.

What is everyone else doing tonight?

roiseandjim · 31/12/2019 09:46

I lost 2 stone for a holiday in October- was so happy and have now fallen off the wagon. Starting again 6th jan as I'm away this weekend and I can't bloody wait!

troppibambini · 31/12/2019 11:05

Grrrrr I'm trying to be good but keep getting sabotagedGrin
Yesterday the kids went to grandads and returned home with a huge box of m and s biscuits. Naice biscuits are my absolute nemesis so I wasn't brilliant yesterday.
Feeling really low at the moment and I know it's all connected to my out of control eating.
We are out for dinner tonight (arghh more food!!) and then rather randomly going bowling!!
Then home to see in the new year.
Hope everyone has a happy new yearSmile

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/12/2019 15:08

In with a takeaway and gin

Have dad over tomorrow for a meal as Havnt send him over Xmas

Think I need to wi Friday then start then

FiveNightsAtMummys · 31/12/2019 17:22

I hope everyone had a great evening!! And don't feel guilty if you go off plan, as they always say it's what you eat between new year and Christmas that matters not what you eat between Christmas and new year. I know I need to take my own advice! I'm having some buffet foods for tea and snacks with the family and games night later. Oh and a glass of prosecco.

FiveNightsAtMummys · 31/12/2019 21:09

Today's food.

Breakfast - 1x shredded wheat with skimmed milk. Small Costa skinny latte.

Lunch - John West Mediterranean pasta, 1 biscuit and 1 finger of kitkat.

Tea - 2 x crackers with cheese & branston, selection of pickles, cucumber, 3 x prawn toast, 1 spring roll, 2 prawn money bags, 2 pigs in blankets, 3 ryvita flat crackers and salsa.

Snacks - 2 pieces of malt loaf with clover lighter, 2 pieces of chocolate orange, 1 finger of kitkat, 3 tiny toblerones, 3 haribo sweets, 1 rondoir, 1 after eight and 1 small tub of pringles.

Over ate snacks but only a tiny bit. Trying not to feel guilty like I posted earlier. I don't count calories anymore but a quick tot up of today is approx 2050 calories. I've done 30 mins hooping and 30 mins air walker, I've been out to town so got some steps in and done some housework. I just have mini toblerones left and 1 individual size bar of dairy milk now so I feel good about that.

Big roast tomorrow. Looking forward to having less chocolate and bigger meal's altho I dont feel hunrgy tonight. I now have the ryvita flat breads, salsa and cottage cheese with chive for dips on an evening instead and I've ordered some hummus and I also have primula which is good for using as a dip. Fruit bowl is full again too. Obv I have some chocolate left just incase but I'm going to try and go aslong as possible without. That might be days or it might be hrs lol.

Bought some size 6 skinny Jean's today from primark. Not sure it counts as a nsv with the stress I've felt about it all.

TigerJoy · 01/01/2020 06:55

Happy New Year everyone! I ate way too many peanuts and drank too much fizz but that was yesterday...and my food was good and synfree. Here's to a healthy and happy 2020
