@dexterslockedintheshedagain I know! I've had some really nice meals since I started slimming world but it just takes time to think and plan things.
@Blondeshavemorefun I tried the aldi chicken saag last week (syn free) and it was nice enough for when you can't be bothered to cook. I've got the chicken tikka one in the freezer for Friday which is also syn free but I haven't tried it yet.

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 31/07/2019 20:28

Yes, I agree it takes some planning, but I find it helps save time (and my diet!) in the long run. I dread to think how much money I've wasted buying food thinking I'll make such and such, yet never doing it any having to throw it out because it's gone off. Makes me feel quite ashamed, tbh.

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/07/2019 20:45

@Dexterslockedintheshedagain sure I read somewhere all Aldi are free but they couldn’t put Syn Free on them as then copying sw

@earlybirdhasanap I may try the meals TOM or fri as working and need to leave by 7pm

I'm not massively keen on the ready meals but they are definitely handy to have in case of emergency.
So so true it's all about the planning!

I always find this time of night hard I'm always craving something sweet.
I've just made an eaten this!
Banana pancakes with fruit, merengue, chocolate fibre one cake bar and chocolate sauce. Came in at six syns was delicious and really hit the spot.

troppibambini · 31/07/2019 21:56

It actually doesn't look that appetising there but it was good I promiseGrinGrin

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 31/07/2019 22:14

It looks delicious. Are the pancakes made with just egg and banana? I fancy trying them

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/07/2019 22:21

Banana pancakes. With mashed banana. Syn it lol
BT fine to chew a banana. Never make sense to me

Yes if eating 20 bananas but surely fine to mash one with an egg

Might do that tomorow for breakie

OP posts:
troppibambini · 31/07/2019 22:30

Yes it's just one mashed banana and two eggs, I did worry it would taste like sweet omelette but they really are good.
I refuse to syn the one mashed bananaGrin

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/07/2019 22:42

Too right @troppibambini. It’s a silly thing to Syn

I love bananas and I read about freezing them

They are yummy and taste like banana ice cream

Those pancakes look good. Do you have a recipe? My DP likes pancakes so could make it as a treat for him. Have never frozen a banana - might have to try that one though my prob is the savoury not the sweet.

My weigh in was 1.5 lb. bleugh - I know that’s good as it’s downwards but I do feel defeated today. Hoping this post will keep me positive over the next week to go even harder at it.

(I’m losing weight to hopefully aid with TTC- another friend told me about their pregnancy today - she got pregnant in 2 months; I’ve been over a year now so am feeling flat)

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/08/2019 07:33

@Ofpalestsilver. It’s a loss tho. :)

Thinking about it. The banana pancakes would be free. Wonder if could do them as a snack /pudding with some ff yog and fruit

B cous cous ff yog and fruit
L roast. Beef pots 3 carrots cauliflower sweet corn beans
T

Tea as working so early will either be
Aldi meal

  • jacket and salad with cheese a -
or pitta bread b chicken and salad

Depending what mood I am in for cooking /prep

It is a loss. I have gotten over myself today!

troppibambini · 01/08/2019 08:18

Yes the actual pancakes are free, you literally mash a banana whisk two eggs together and mix.
Get the pan hot spray with fry light/ oil then but about half a ladle at a time in.
Fruit and yogurt is lovely for breakfast.
I like mini marshmallows on them too (10 for 1 syn) if you put them in between they melt and go gooey.

troppibambini · 01/08/2019 08:18

Oh a well done @Ofpalestsilver!

Worrisomewart · 01/08/2019 08:27

Following this thread, desperately need some meal plan inspiration.

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 01/08/2019 08:31

@Ofpalestsilver
Yay!!

Ofpalestsilver · 01/08/2019 14:07

Thanks all!

My menu today is main courtesy of the cafe in work so...

B: Poached egg, beans and one piece of toast (HeB) - a miracle in itself that I managed to only have ONE piece of toast - & iced black americano

L: 2 x baked potato (they were kinda small but it was excessive) with grated carrot, sweetcorn, blanched broccoli, tuna with mayo (estimating 5 syns)

D: Spaghetti with prawns & courgettes - will make a sauce from plum tomatoes with garlic, chilli & smoked paprika, put rocket and parmesan (HeA) on top

Feels quite carb heavy. I should probably cut down on the double baked potato but it stops me from snacking and I've got the gym tonight so hopefully will keep me going til dinner time. Do any of you find yourself wanting snacks at work?

Youwanapizzame · 01/08/2019 14:39

HI everyone - Just dipping my toe back in, getting a bit of inspo from here and getting up to date with the rules. Are all flavoured yogurts now sinned? Including the fat free greek style ones? How do you have your plain yogurt in that case? With just fruit mixed in? Thanks dull but essential planning question :) :D

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 01/08/2019 15:30

Where I work we have no canteen, but there's always biscuits, cakes, all manner of things. Thing is, I work shifts and for some reason chocolate digestives taste sooooo much better at 3am....

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 01/08/2019 15:32

@Youwanapizzame
Hello!
I think pretty much all flavoured yoghurts have some or other syn value. I tend to mix fat free Greek yoghurt with sweetener, and then add what I want to it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/08/2019 15:44

welcome @worra and @you

i use fat free yog and sweetner

boo at mullier lights being synned now

Hello can I join!

I've been doing SW for a while and lost 2 stone, got another 2 to go.

I'm stuck in a bit of a rut with meals so would love to join and get some new ideas.

littlepooch · 01/08/2019 15:52

Oh and my tip for the Iceland ready meals is to cook them for longer than the packaging states - otherwise the sauce is a bit thin and it doesn't thicken. Just my personal preference but I find they are nicer like that 😊

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 01/08/2019 19:12

Today

B - boiled eggs and soldiers (HEB & 2.5syns for spread) made me feel young again;

L - pasta & cheese (HEA)

D -gnocchi, tomato sauce made with passata, home grown basil and balsamic vinegar with a sprinkle of sweetener to counteract the tartness, bacon and mushroom (free apart from gnocchi which I’m giving a 7)

So 9.5 so far!

Why is it I can go for days at home without snacking, but as soon as I set foot into work all I want to do is stuff my face??!!!

Ofpalestsilver · 01/08/2019 19:43

Oh god @Dexterslockedintheshedagain I feel your pain. My work is very busy and hectic but I still reckon it’s boredom! Something delicious to make time go quicker! You’ve made me crave gnocchi now.
