@troppibambini - that sounds like a right pain! We're all allowed a choco wine day!

@Blondeshavemorefun whoo congrats that's brilliant.

My menu today is:

B: 2 x poached eggs, beans and toast - 2 slices so 4 syns for the extra

Went out for a work lunch and had:
L: Bavette steak (wasn't very nice!), jersey royals (no butter) and picked beetroot & radish (maybe 1 syn for whatever the dressing was?) and a glass of white wine (7 syns)

D: fakeaway chicken chow mein - my friend is cooking but I assume it doesn't have any syns??? Not sure - let's say 2.

For dessert I'll make a huge fruit salad with ff yoghurt.

14 syns!

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 02/08/2019 16:22

Lol@Youwanapizzame !!
I made it home and all day have been harangued by DD (12) to make cake pops/ explain the contents of the medical cabinet to herConfused/dress the dog up.
I wished I'd stayed at the gym....

B: raspberry wheaties with tiny splash skimmed milk (hex b and part of hex a)

S: mixed berries

L: salad of chilli and lime chicken, lettuce, pickles onions, cucumber, tomato and balsamic

S: 10 syn bag (I make 7 per week containing 10 syns of treats, this week has been 1x hifi bar, 1x Oreo thin, 1x pink n white, 2x toblerone tinys)

If I’m still struggling I will have a 10 cal jelly for 0.5 syns. Key for me is 0 syns until after evening meal or at least back home

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 02/08/2019 20:56

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/08/2019 21:42

Some lovely menu choices. Thank you all so much

How long have you all been doing sw and how much have you lost

I would like to prob lose 4stone ideally - But be happy with 2

I have a wedding dress to fit in to

Well I have to find the dress first 😂😂😂

OP posts:
dexterslockedintheshedagain · 03/08/2019 13:12

I've been doing SW in and off for about 13 years now. First did it online after my DD was born to lose the baby weight and managed to lose 2.5 stone. Took me about 6 mths, but I was fanatical about it.
Left it alone for years then rejoined after a holiday to Egypt, but didn't take it seriously really and then left.
This last bout was after a few photos from a holiday in Lanzarote told me some home truths about how big I was getting. I lost 2 stone, this was about 3yrs ago. I've since put half a stone back on, so ideally I'd like to lose that plus another stone.
Got weighed this morning, and another lb has gone! Yay!
Wine is my downfall. I just cannot have one glass, if there's a bottle open it's as good as gone. But I knew I had to do something as both my mum and eldest sister were obese, and in my sisters case it contributed to her death. Sad

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 03/08/2019 13:14

And congratulations on your wedding! I love this group. So many good ideas, and no judgements.
Together, we'll all get there!
Ps if you wanted a recycled wedding dress, I've got three you could try ...🤣🤣

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/08/2019 14:11

@Dexterslockedintheshedagain sorry about your sister :(

Well done for the weight you have lost

lol at 3 spare wedding dresses

I have one , tho now wouldn’t get a thigh into it :(

Ofpalestsilver · 03/08/2019 14:17

Thanks @troppibambini I made your pancakes this morning!

B: banana pancakes with strawberries and maple syrup (mind was blown when I discovered maple syrup is only 0.5 syn for a level tsp which is loads!!)

S: seafood sticks!

L: okra stew (made it with diced tomatoes, asofoetida [i use to replace onions which can make me sick], garlic, chilli powder) with spelt and bacon medallions.

It’s a friends 40th so saving my syns for a few beers as we’re going to a brewery. Or else vodka sodas as you get a bit more for your money/ syns!

I joined Slimming World as I have a load of health problems and have put on a lot of weight because of them. My partner and I are TTC but my weight is a barrier to any fertility treatment (one of my health issues makes it harder to conceive anyway). I need to lose weight so I’ll be taken seriously! Grin

Am also getting married next year so I guess it’ll work quite well for that but being overweight on my wedding day doesn’t affect me much. I’m on a baby mission!!

Thanks everyone for being so positive and encouraging. It’s nice to have someone to come and share recipes etc.! And it’s lovely to understand the reasons behind everyone’s weight loss. We’re all going to smash it!

Ofpalestsilver · 03/08/2019 14:18

@Blondeshavemorefun when’s the wedding? :)

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/08/2019 14:28

End of May. When is yours

And sorry to hear about your infertility probelms. Totally understand. Took 10yrs ttc and 5 private ivf to get one whiff of a bfp

Dd is now 2

Feel free to ask /messsge me if you want to know anything about ivf. Not ouch I don’t know - unless things have changed bmi needs to be under 30 for nhs. Private they aren’t fussy 30/35/40

Great to hear the pancake love

This is a lovely thread,

@dexterslockedintheshedagain I'm sorry about your sister
Lovely to hear about weddings people are looking forward too!
@Ofpalestsilver I'm sorry to hear of your (and @Blondeshavemorefun) fertility struggles there is not many harder things to deal with imo. I had three mcs while trying to conceive and it nearly broke me.
I was so fortunate that I did eventually go on to have four dc.

Not sure what to have for dinner tonight. Maybe something with chicken and noodles...

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 03/08/2019 17:31

I tried the pancakes, but they just ended up an eggy mess! I whizzed up a banana and two eggs. Is that right?!

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/08/2019 17:37

I beat eggs with a fork. Then added mashed banana

OP posts:
troppibambini · 03/08/2019 17:45

Yes blonde is right mash the banana and add eggs. It will look lumpy but they turn out fine.
I changed my mind and made roasted pepper and mushroom risotto was really nice.
I tried to artfully put basil leaves on the top but they looked like I'd put garden rubbish onGrinGrin
Oh well it tasted ok which is the main thing!

Daily menu - please come and write what you eat
dexterslockedintheshedagain · 03/08/2019 20:39

Aha! I put the eggs and nana in the nutribullet - that explains that then Confused!

Today
B - branflakes & milk HEA & HEB
L - boiled ham salad with tbsp 70% reduced fat salad cream 0.5 syn
D - chicken curry (onions, garlic, ginger, passata, spices - all free) reduced fat coconut milk 3 syns
Pudding - black/rasp/blueberries, ff Greek yoghurt with sweetener, 1 meringue nest 2.5 Syns.
Total 6 syns. So far!

I've made a panacotta type thing for tomorrow's pud. Needs quite a while to set. I've never made anything with gelatine in it before, so this should be interesting!

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 03/08/2019 20:40

@troppibambini
That risotto looks lush. I love a risotto.

Twigletgirl27 · 03/08/2019 21:47

@Dexterslockedintheshedagain if you like risotto look at the two chubby cubs list of recipes. Their Italian sausage and chicken risotto is to die for!
