@dexterslockedintheshedagain well done! A loss is a loss. And i love yoga with adriene..i might give the 30 day challenge a go too. My dogs love it although sometimes i have to stop and move / cuddle them.

Didn't do any yoga today or baking worked til 6pm catching up on this week 👎👎👎

Interesting about the meat. I often don't eat meat for days (see what I've eaten today) but I find without protein I get hungry and often overeat my carbs. Are you trying to figure out how to eat more?

@magnarocks that is amazing!!! Well done 🥳🥂💃 i hope you are feeling encouraged for the week ahead. I'd often have a cheat meal after weigh in especially if I'd been good!

@troppibambini that made me laugh! I'm glad you had such an awesome night out, that sounds super fun and you probably needed it. I hope you're home relaxing and your eyeballs have stopped bleeding. Hair of the dog?! 🐶🍸

Looks great @blondes if you cba i will tell you my super easy tomato sauce recipe which we live on. Dh only cooks it for as long as you cook the pasta.

Curry is cooking and smells lush. Have snacked on peanuts without measuring and had a bit of bread with lunch so been a bit off plan today. Might try and add some random syns just so i log it.

I've wondered if you could just count 1 slice of white bread as HEB. If it's about another way of limiting calories that would work, right?

JBFletcherismyaunt · 02/11/2019 20:28

For 2 people - double as appropriate

1/2 jar passata (i get the cheapest from ocado something like 67p each) or 1 tin chopped tomatoes
1-2 garlic cloves, peeled and cut in half
1 tbsp olive oil
Basil leaves

Heat olive oil in saucepan and fry garlic cloves until golden, turning as necessary, then throw garlic away. Do not let it burn. My DH skips this step or you could use garlic flavoured oil

Add passata, plus a dash of water, bring to boil, add a few basil leaves, simmer for 10-20 mins until the sauce looks thick. You will need a lid half-covering the pan as it bloops. If you want to cook for an hour use double the passata/tomatoes for the same number of people.

Add a few more torn up basil leaves just before eating. Serve with parmesan

That's it. This is DH's mum's recipe - she liked things super simple but honestly it's really comforting. You don't need onions / sugar / other herbs at all. You can add one small dried chilli at the beginning if you want it spicy.

For pasta bake use a whole jar of passata, cook for 20 mins as above. Mix with 500g pasta cooked for 2 mins less than on the pack, put in dish, top with 2 x 125g balls of light mozzarella chopped up and lashings of parmesan (we buy the ready grated stuff). 6 servings. Lasts 3-4 days in the fridge and better the day after making.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/11/2019 08:57

So a jar of sauce and basil leaves

I find if I don’t use sweetner it’s tart

I add onions for extra veg

OP posts:
Pinkarsedfly · 03/11/2019 09:21

I fry some frozen soffrito and garlic, then add a tin of toms or passata basil and oregano, salt and pepper, and a dash of balsamic.

If I want a chunky vegetable sauce I’ll fry some peppers, mushrooms and courgettes up with the soffrito.

Pinkarsedfly · 03/11/2019 09:21

Sorry, meant to say I use garlic frylight.

troppibambini · 03/11/2019 09:32

Morning! I'm back in the land of the living, yesterday was like an endurance testGrin
Pasta sauce is a funny thing everyone does it so differently even in Italy, it's a bit like grandparents arguing over who's gravy is best for Xmas dinner except the Nonna's argue over who's sauce recipe is best!

Mine is half and onion
Two tins of tomatoes
A tin of tomato purée
A tin of water
Dried Italian herbs

Fry onion in a spray olive oil add everything else simmer for a couple,e of hours til it's reduced by half.
Obviously mines the bestWink

I freeze mine in portions then add different things as and when. Bacon and chilli is nice.

B-raspberries and yogurt
L-baked potato beans and bacon
D-not sure maybe a roast

troppibambini · 03/11/2019 09:32

Sorry missed off the salt and pepper

troppibambini · 03/11/2019 09:33

@magnarocks sorry forgot to say well done!!! That's a fantastic loss.

magnarocks · 03/11/2019 14:28

@Blondeshavemorefun @troppibambini @JBFletcherismyaunt @TigerJoy @FiveNightsAtMummys @dexterslockedintheshedagain

Thanks all. Was pretty chuffed. Here's to another good week on plan.

Glad to see you survived Troppi.

I’m tired today (thanks to unsettled night with toddler) and got a cold. Making campfire stew for dinner this eve.

TigerJoy · 03/11/2019 15:48

@troppibambini you are bang on! I have about 5 different versions but this is the simplest. Personally i still think it's delicious and it's cheap and easy. If it's not for you, @blondes, fair enough

I probably have an italian version of Stockholm syndrome though cos I learned to cook DH's mum's recipes and everyone know the person who cooked it best was your mum

magnarocks · 03/11/2019 17:47

Today's food:

B: oat pancakes with 1 tbsp of golden syrup(HexB & 3) blueberries, apple and banana

Sn: small Lotus biscuit (2.5) chicken Goujon x 2 - at a kids party (5)

L: homemade veg soup with sliced chicken breast, pickled onions and 40g reduced cheese (HexA)

D: campfire stew, baked potato and mangetout

Just enough syns for something sweet later 😋

magnarocks · 03/11/2019 19:56

Made this today. It's delish! Totally like a normal cake, isn't like flavoured egg or omelettey in the slightest and works out at 6 syns per slice (if cut into 9).
