I've just been out to do a fun 5 mile yuletide trail run - I'm covered in mud and soaked to the skin but it was a lot of fun. The run may help me reach my goal of losing a stone by Christmas, the fabulous cakes at the finish plus the selection box and candy canes in our goody bags were not so good!

sunshineNdaisies · 01/12/2018 18:37

not been a good week for staying on plan. I think I'll be lucky to lose. Tomorrow is WI

I need some packed lunch ideas please ladies - next week I have a lot of driving about for work with no access to a microwave, not enough time to buy something on the go and I dont really want to have a sandwich as I use my HEb for my morning wheetabix. I also don't like pasta.

I need some ideas please

FiveNightsAtMummys · 01/12/2018 19:56

Sunshine I just picked up some veg sushi from Aldi, it's 2.5 syns which I think isn't bad. Chop some fruit to snack on, cucumber and carrot sticks. Soup in a flask? Tuna pasta or any type of pasta salad.

Tobermory · 01/12/2018 22:18

I really want to sit here and eat loads of chocolate!!

The rationale part of my brain is saying... stop! feeling really good about weight loss. Bought a 12/14 top today which is not at all right . Tried on a T-shirt which I couldn’t get on at end of August and now has lots of space in it. I had to make a new hole in my belt this week.

So why am I sitting here forcing myself not to get the bar of chocolate that I know is in the kitchen?!

Tobermory · 01/12/2018 22:27

New top ... not at all tight!

Tailrunner · 01/12/2018 22:55

Tobermory - when I feel like that it’s usually boredom (which is why I struggle not to eat the complete contents of fridge when I’m marking exam papers). Can you find something to do to distract you? I can’t even imagine fitting into a size 12/14, you’re doing great so step away from the chocolate.

Tobermory · 01/12/2018 23:06

Tailrunner, thanks.
Boredom maybe.
I typed that message half an hour ago, the worst is past and I’m not eating anything else... going to bed instead.
The 12/14 top was a stretchy jumper... but still counts right? I’ve always always reached for the L, this was a M. Made my day!!

I’ve got my running stuff out for the morning.

Groovee · 01/12/2018 23:56

I like egg muffins for on the go.

Had my first Christmas night out. Lots of fun and god knows how many syns. But hey ho.

Microwave rice cooked with salad and meat for a lunch idea.
I’m not sure SlimmingWorld is dealing with my underlying issues with food.

Tailrunner · 02/12/2018 09:05

I've been making soup and taking bags of chopped fruit and having poppadoms as a treat. I love the coriander and lime ones and a small bag from the multipack is only 3 syns.

Weighed in this morning at 13st 1.5lb so only a lb off this week but happy with a loss, especially as a sneaky check midweek showed I'd put weight on. That's 11.5lb so far. I'm not sure I'll get my first stone off by Xmas - I have a couple of meals out before then so I won't be totally on plan. I'll just do what I can.

Tobermory · 02/12/2018 10:29

Sensations popadoms, only 3 syns. Wow, great tip @tailrunner. I’ve been eating the sweet chill snack from Aldi but they’re 4 or 5 so these would be a great alternative.

@groovvee how’s yours head this morning?

Just got been for a run. Did 10k, took me an hour and ten, so not mega quick by any means but I’ve done my 10, 000 steps for the day and I reckon I’ve burnt off last nights tea ( salad at tgi fridays) and a cheeky chocolate biscuit or two.

Tailrunner · 02/12/2018 11:10

I love the poppadoms and 3 syns is good for a snack. I just need to make sure I stick to 1 pack rather than finishing the multipack!

Well done on the run Tobermory. My 10k times have been getting slower all year because I don't train enough but at least I'm still getting out. Hoping I can find more time to run regularly next year.

Groovee · 02/12/2018 12:23

Head is fine thanks @Tailrunner. It's the tiredness I struggle with.

lost 2lbs this week so that was a surprise but a nice one. I was not 100% on plan last week.

I have bought lots of fruit and cooked meats to make packed lunches with for next week, also some muller yoghurts.

Tobermory · 02/12/2018 13:31

I normally buy Aldi yogurts but can’t get there today. Does anyone know low syn/free yogs that I could grab from the coop?

Tailrunner · 03/12/2018 22:24

Sorry Tobermory, I just grab mullerlights as our co-op is tiny and doesn't have much there. Did you find something?

I've set myself a challenge of doing at least 30 min of exercise every day until xmas. I've been either running, walking or swimming so far and I've also started Yoga with Adriene 30 days of yoga on youtube. I feel really good but also really hungry so I'm desperately trying not to ruin my efforts by snacking constantly. I'm not exercising enough to need more food - I think it's the cold weather plus all the lovely xmas treats appearing.

Tobermory · 03/12/2018 22:32

Good for you... a great goal @tailrunner. I’m struggling to find extra time right now. My children clubs have suddenly multiplied with extra practises in ten run up to Christmas, so there’s more running around after them. Oh and we’re moving house in two weeks so it’s all kinda crazy. My period arrived today, I would’ve given anything to pop open the box of quality streetsthat I’ve bought for DDs high school staff room!

And no to yoghurts, I’ve just managed without!!

Tailrunner · 03/12/2018 22:42

@Tobermory we've had weeks like that and you just have to survive them. There's just no way to get anything else done. Luckily we are going the other way and some of the DC's clubs are finishing this week. Swimming carries on so I've been going for a swim while they have their lessons. I'm not a big swimming fan and I'm pretty rubbish but it must be better than sitting in the cafe with a piece of cake! I have a couple of xmas meals booked over the next 2 weeks and I'm scared of putting weight on and giving up so I'm hoping this keeps me going.

Tobermory · 03/12/2018 23:08

I’m going for my WI while DD swims tomorrow, no free time otherwise! Then back to school to run a stall at the Christmas fayre and DH is out till 10.
Maybe I’ll try and squeeze something in on Wednesday ... in between packing boxes!!

JaceLancs · 04/12/2018 08:43

Still struggling along here!
Got my 5 stone award mid Sept then put 0.5 back on (2 week holiday) lost some then got scuppered by my Dad being taken seriously ill - read comfort eating and drinking
So still 3.5 away from getting back to 5 stone loss - really wanted 6 stone for Xmas!
Lots of Xmas dos coming up and a weekend away at Xmas markets
Any suggestions welcome

HazelnutRaspberryRoulade · 04/12/2018 14:22

Hi all! Mind if I hop onboard? I’ve been following this thread for months and months - thought it was time I joined in!

I’ve been doing slimming world from home for nearly two years now with the help of some friends who are members. At one point I’d lost about a stone and a half and was nearly at my target of 9 stone (I’m only 5.2) but some of it has crept back on after my wedding and honeymoon this summer.

I know it’s nearly Christmas but I’ve had a rush of motivation so going with it while I can! I’d love to lose 4 pounds before then.

Groovee · 04/12/2018 19:33

Welcome @HazelnutRaspberryRoulade

@JaceLancs I find going back to basics helps me.

I lost 1.5lb. So 2.5lb below target. Happy with that. So can enjoy dh's Birthday, my birthday and my dads before the 18th and my next weigh in x

Pound on. Really struggling. Starting to resent it. Argh.

Was that from the mince pies? @Cherrypi

1.5lb off this week, got slimmer of the week too! 1st 2.5lb in 4 weeks, slimmest I've been this year! A few things happening this week so not sure how it will go.
