Well done sunshineNdaisies

I've lost 1.5lb this week. A bit more would have been nice but it's a loss so I'll take it.

NewMeStartsHere · 11/11/2018 09:20

Can I join you? I rejoined SW on Tuesday. Previously lost 1.5 stone on the plan but that back on plus a few pounds Blush starting point is 11st 3lb and current target is 9st 10lb.

Feel like I'm back in the zone and had a good week so far. Hoping for 2lb off this week but then I tend to lose 0.5-1lb a week so hopefully 1/2 stone for Xmas.

I'm a grazer so I really struggle in the evenings. Crisps and sweet stuff are my downfall! Trying to up the exercise.

Why is it so easy to put on and so hard to lose? Grin

Jezzballs2000 · 11/11/2018 11:59

New me, I’m totally with you. I put on half a pound and have not been particularly ‘good’ since the Thursday weigh in. Makes me think if gained last week when I was pretty on the ball how am I going to lose ever again. I’ve snacked a lot on sweets my husband had from Halloween. He got non-fat free yogurts and I’ve been eating those. He got non-diet tonic water and I’ve been drinking that (with gin!). We live apart during the week because of work hence all the temptations! I’ve realised I need to make sure I have the right versions of things (and that means buying myself I think) and I’ve also realised I should have a break from booze to try and jump start things. Plus start doing body magic.

Anyway! Thanks for letting me work things out here xx

Tobermory · 11/11/2018 17:46

newme I too love snacking on an evening. My new favourite snacks are gerkins and cucumber, babybel light ( I don’t drink tea or coffee so no milk so can have these x3 as my HEA), and hifi bars (HeB) for when I need sweet.

Groovee · 11/11/2018 19:04

Ended up going to Tesco for mincemeat. As in mince pies and made baked oats with it! So yummy

Mincemeat Baked Oats. Yum yum

40g oats
100g natural yoghurt
1 egg
vanilla essence
half a teaspoon of baking powder.
Put a little mixture in each one then topped with a tea spoon of mincemeat at 1/2 a syn per tsp. Then topped with the rest. Put mixed spice on the top of my ones and all the way through d’s. Will put it all the way through next time. So 3 are a HE and 1.5 syns x

I miss HiFi bars. I don’t have time to go to group but I did like having the caramel and chocolate bars in for a sweet treat. They are so expensive on eBay!

Groovee - I still haven’t tried the baked oats. I made the oats waffle things which I think are similar and it was just too eggy for me. Is there a knack to making them?

Tobermory · 11/11/2018 20:46

Oooooo mince pies! I’ve not even daredthink about how I might get through Christmas. Love mince pies...amongst other yummy Christmas stuff.
But SW mince pies! Love this idea!!

Tobermory · 11/11/2018 20:46

Thanks Groovee!

Groovee · 11/11/2018 20:48

What was your recipe? @Tailrunner

OP posts:
Tailrunner · 11/11/2018 20:54

It was this recipe on PoN. 40g oats whizzed in blender and mixed with 2 eggs, 175g yogurt and a bit of sweetner then baked in a silicon mould. It was okay but had the texture and taste of a quiche. I was maybe expecting too much since it was called a waffle!

Tailrunner · 11/11/2018 20:57

I might try again with one egg and a bit less yogurt so it's closer to your recipe. I really wanted to try the baked oats with fruit I see people posting about but the thought of a fruity quiche is urgh

Groovee · 11/11/2018 21:53

My recipe for waffles is 40g oats, 3/4 of a tsp of baking powder, 60g Greek natural yoghurt( it's thicker), 1 egg, 1/2 a tsp of vanilla essence and 1/2 a tap of sweetener. Then I pop in my waffle maker for 3/4 minutes.

Groovee · 11/11/2018 21:55

Oh and I blitz the oats too.

Lots of changes coming in January. Beans and peas no longer Protein and an extra A choice daily.

Cherrypi · 12/11/2018 14:02

Bring on the cheese and the milk soaking Weetabix! Might even go back to whole milk. SlimmingWorld seem to be getting closer to low carb/ Michael Moseley type diet each update.

Groovee · 12/11/2018 15:10

In 2005 they introduced 2 A choices which I loved and found I lost better with extra calcium. But then they removed them again.

ALemonyPea · 12/11/2018 16:12

Still here, plodding along but not having much luck.

Those cauli patties look lovely, think I'll have to give them a go.

Anyone seen the update for what's happening after Christmas? Two A choices, but they're removing philly from A choice list.

ALemonyPea · 12/11/2018 16:13

Oh and duly syns will be 10 instead of 15.

Groovee · 12/11/2018 16:42

Syns are reduced to 10 for SP @ALemonyPea

Ah that's not too bad then

NewMeStartsHere · 12/11/2018 18:18

I'm not sure I can live on 10 syns! I always hit 15... I actively make sure of it Wink
Extra HEA doesn't really interest me... if I lose weight up to xmas on the current plan, I'll probably stick to it. If it ain't broken...

First weigh in tomorrow. Hoping to have lost around 18lb... Hmm

FoofFighter · 12/11/2018 20:51

Very annoyed about the unsweetened almond milk reduction Angry

OwlinaTree · 12/11/2018 22:57

Exciting times with an extra hex a! Cheese on everything!!

Does that mean breast feeding women will have to eat twice as many? You get 6 hex when bfeeding!

I went to class last Tues, half off so pleased with that. Still in the target range. I can't go tomorrow, got to do the shopping. I've got a quiet weekend coming up so hoping to stay fully on plan and make the following week weigh in.

The cauliflower patties look nice, I might give them a try.
