I have put 2.5 lbs on this week due to a city break and eating like a total pig. Need to get back on it this week.

Tobermory · 05/11/2018 20:48

I’m weighing in tomorrow, a bit nervous about it. We were away for a week, I was mostly ‘on it’. I drunk too much booze but did lots more excercise than normal. O and one day I had a stinking cold and ate jelly babies and crisps! Confused
So not sure how it’s going to pan out.

Having had jelly babies and a couple of chocolate biscuits seemed to have awakened my sweet tooth a little. Finding it hard to resist. And I’ve run out of hi-fi bars!

Tailrunner · 06/11/2018 06:51

Good luck for your weigh in today Tobermory.

Megsmcgoo · 06/11/2018 12:40

Well done Tailrunner!

Hope your weigh in goes well today Tobermory, I’ve got mine tomorrow, fingers crossed!

Tobermory · 06/11/2018 18:53

Wow. 3lb down. How did that happen?!
Pleased with the loss. Actually bloody pleased with it. I guess the extra excercise balanced out the vodka and jelly babies! Grin

Just thinking about a pre - Christmas goal. What are yours?
I’ve 3.5 more until I reach my 2 stone loss. I reckon I can do that in two weeks. Then maybe another 3 or 4 lb before Christmas?

Megsmcgoo · 06/11/2018 19:38

Well done Tobermory!

I’d like to have got a stone and half by Christmas, ambitious but i’m 8.5 in already Smile

Tailrunner · 06/11/2018 20:06

That's fantastic Tobermory.

I'd like to get down to 13st (or ideally under 13st) by Xmas. That means I have 9.5lb to lose. I think that should be possible.

Groovee · 06/11/2018 21:04

Well done @Tobermory

I lost half a pound so bang on target.

Having a few health issues. Getting bloods done on Thursday as part of my referral to a specialist. Anxiety is through the roof but trying hard to maintain my weight.

Hello I’m about six weeks in and half a stone down. I started at 14.5. I’m new to Mumsnet but lurked a lot over the years. This group seems lovely and may help!

In other news I discovered Halo Top (with some frozen fruit to help make it go a bit further.) Delicious!

Tobermory · 06/11/2018 23:10

Hi jezz, I consider myself a SW newby-ish. 10 weeks in but really loving the plan. Lots of great advice and support from people here.

Tobermory · 06/11/2018 23:11

Halo top, just googled it! (And wished I hadn’t!) Grin

Jezzballs2000 · 07/11/2018 08:18

Sorry to provide temptation! It’s low enough that you could over eat and still be in manageable excess. It’s really striking how many syns things have that I previously thought weren’t ‘that bad’. I am feeling really good about the general SW ethos, I’ve done practically every diet going over the years. It’s nice to stop demonising (sweet, beautiful) carbs though as someone said above, it’s still calories in calories out so trying not to go overboard just because I ‘can’.

lovesugarfreejelly63 · 07/11/2018 17:52

Grovee - hope all goes well for you.

Megsmcgoo · 07/11/2018 19:58

4lbs off this week so 12.5 on three weeks woo! 1.5 to target but I’m thinking of lowering by half a stone

The next two weeks however are going to be hard going, my sisters staying this weekend so food and drink will be consumed Cake and then the weekend after off to stay at a friends for the weekend who is having their kitchen renovated so every meal will be out Envy i’ll 100% stick to plan on the days I can and try and make good choices where possible but I also want to enjoy myself

Jezzballs2000 · 07/11/2018 21:02

Megs that’s sounds like the best you can do, and still have fun with your sister.

I’ve been using the app to log syns and just realised I’m about 35 SYNs over the maximum amount. I can see that any kind of eating out (inc buying lunch while I’m at work) really sabotages things. Plus all drinking of booze!

I just made an aubergine mozzarella bake thing that was delicious. Need to keep cooking and prepping!!

Groovee · 07/11/2018 21:08

@lovesugarfreejelly63 thank you x

Well done @Megsmcgoo just try your best. Life is for living sometimes.

Oops @Jezzballs2000 That bake sounds good. Do you have the recipe?

OP posts:
Jezzballs2000 · 07/11/2018 21:30

I read a few recipes online but made this by slicing two aubergines into thick slices and spraying with frylight, then cooking them in oven at about 180. Whilst they were cooking I fried two cloves of garlic with two tins of chopped tomatoes, salt pepper and a big pinch of sugar. Between the two it was about 25mins of cooking time. Then I layered them and topped with 100g of grated mozzarella and cooked for 20 mins or so. I had half with lots of salad and 75g of pasta (raw weight). I’ll have the rest for lunch!

I find Pinch of Nom quite inspiring.

Groovee · 08/11/2018 07:03

Sounds lovely x

I've just joined this week. Previously lost 3 stone on the.. other.. plan but couldn't get any further. It's been a big change getting used to the things I can now eat that I couldn't before. Here's hoping the next 3 stone comes off!

Tobermory · 10/11/2018 15:49

Have been baking this afternoon with my DD and it was sooo hard not to nibble. Helped her a little bit to the lick bowl and now I just want to sit and eat sweet stuff.
Have had one of my hi fi bars but that’s not come close.
What to do?!

Groovee · 10/11/2018 16:00

Made cauliflower patties. My friend makes them and has bacon between 2 of them. Quite tasty on their own.

Ooh those look nice Groovee.

Tobermory · 10/11/2018 16:05

I’m not a big cauliflower fan, but the cauliflower there looks week disguised !
I won’t post a picture of DDs buns which are defo NOT SW friendly!

Tailrunner · 10/11/2018 16:12

Those look good groovee
museypants - I hope your week is going well so far
Tobermory - I hope you've managed to avoid the sweet stuff. I used to keep jellies, frozen fruit or funsize chocolate bars in the freezer for moments like this but then discovered that once I'd started picking I couldn't stop. Now I just go for a hot choc or warm orange squash.

I've made some butternut squash soup and butternut squash/red lentil dahl this afternoon. I got DP to pick me up a food thermos this morning so hopefully I can now have something warm at work. I keep running out of time to get to the microwave at work but I do enjoy some soup at lunchtime.

Weigh in tomorrow and I hoping for something off. Any time I've tried to diet before I haven't lost weight in the second week and it's really difficult to stay motivated so I might need a kick up the rear tomorrow Blush.

Groovee · 10/11/2018 17:28

Recipe here.
