Thanks oldowl. You should still lose on free foods but not as quick. Is that right ? Ive lost 9lb at 1lb a week apart from last week which was 2lb. Its not a lot I know but each week it adds up Smile. Im trying to get my confidence up to loo good on my hols in June Wine

Oldowl · 15/02/2018 09:54

Losing at that rate, you are likely to keep it off. Huge losses go back on just as quick once you are off plan. For me this is a life style change, so I am delighted with 0.5lb off or maintaining now I am at target.

Oldowl · 15/02/2018 09:59

As an aside, I watched Trust Me, I'm a Doctor a few weeks back.

They explained that two apples have as much sugar in them as a can of coke!!

However, if you eat an apple the body has to break down the fibre. Your body uses up almost all the sugar in the energy needed to do this. However, if you squeeze the juice out of two apples you are having the sugar in a pure form without the fibre, so the body will store it as fat as it needs no energy to break it down.

Moral: Stay off the fruit juice and eat your fruit whole!

Hi I'm really struggling with snacking the evening, it's always something sweet I'm after like a pudding or cereal. I don't like Muller yogs or jelly; and vegetables and a dip are not going to satisfy these cravings.
Has anyone got a recipe I can try or any ideas?
Help me please! Confused

twizzr · 15/02/2018 10:06

First, Please let me apologise for not requesting to join the group, So may I,?
Second I live in on a yacht Greece and am unable to join a class, all that I have is a book S/W love food, the way I read it was if I only eat Free foods I would lose weight, So I cut out all alcohol, bread and Potatoes from my diet, only eat very lean meat with a very large amount of vegetables on the free food list, tomatoes, cucumbers onions.
I don't eat pastries or any other syns listed on the pages. I have found this easy to achieve, just thought I would have lost more weight.
thanks

Groovee · 15/02/2018 10:12

Northern what about baked oats? Or waffles? You use your HEB 40g Oats for this.

Are you having your Healthy Extra's @twizzr?

You can have wholemeal bread and potatoes on the food optimising.

Are you having syns?

The food optimising plan is balanced to allow your Free/Speed foods, healthy extras and syns.

twizzr · 15/02/2018 11:58

No, I am only eating what`s listed on Free food.Fruit, vegetables, fish, meat and poultry.
I find I am happy without syns and stick to S, P, F, C. Use some stock cubes and spices, semi-skimmed milk in unsweetened coffee about 10cc max, about 2 eggs pd

twizzr · 15/02/2018 12:00

Cannot have bread on the boat as if its there I will eat it all

northernlites · 15/02/2018 14:26

Groove thanks I could try that
I do eat waffles for breakfast sometimes but I could use them for evenings,
It's my worst time, complete falling off the wagon time

boats16 · 15/02/2018 15:17

Im sorry, I have been chatting for a while as well. I didnt realise either that you had to request to join. Apologies Michelle

Groovee · 15/02/2018 15:26

No one has to request to join. Everyone is welcome.

@twizzr The plan is designed as a balanced nutrition. So you should use the syns. It sound ridiculous but I lose better when I have 10 syns a day. I lost 4 stone in 11 months last year by having my syns and healthy extras.

The healthy extras are designed to ensure you are getting your fibre and calcium intake so you should look at having them and there is a fair list for both.

@northernlites have added my waffle recipe above. They are very scrummy. Might make some tonight.

northernlites · 15/02/2018 16:04

Thanks @Groovee I will try that.
Any other ideas for indulgent snacks greatly received too!
Need to trick my body that it's had something naughty! Grin

Groovee · 15/02/2018 16:21

Baked oats are good. I use the skinny syrups instead of sweetener and blitz the oats. You could pop some jam or choc spread in the middle too.

Hey losers! Sorry I’ve not been around, have had shit and stuff going on. I’m still out of range, could kick myself. I’m nearly there though, so forward thinking.

Eeyore, you’ve done amazing! Well done! I lost 7 stone to get to my target. The last stone was a killer. I decided on a number, it isn’t in the healthy BMI, just slightly over. I felt I wanted a weight I wanted to be comfortable at and not to struggle keeping it at a lower amount. I’m a size 10/12.

Twizzlr, you really need some fibre and dairy in there, and some treats. You’ll get fed up eating your current way otherwise. Here is a list of A and B choices, you should have one A and one B choice a day.

boats16 · 15/02/2018 19:01

groovee Did you hit your target by Valentines ?

Groovee · 15/02/2018 19:11

Boats No... it's just not moving. I lost 4lb in January, so changed it to the end of Feb but I need to lose 5lb and I'm not a big loser. Also completely unable to exercise as my fibro flared up and have now twanged my back. If I get there by Easter it will be a miracle.

boats16 · 15/02/2018 19:49

Dont look at it like that. Think that of what youve acheived already Wink

Groovee · 15/02/2018 19:54

I know! It's just one of those frustrating things that since my surgery it's been so slow losing.

OP posts:
MumInTheCity · 15/02/2018 20:10

Eeyore - congrats! You look incredible!

Groovee - it's so frustrating when you hit a wall like that but you've done so well

I've been good today. Going out for a 3 course brunch with bottomless cocktails on Saturday so trying not to use many syns before that!

B - cherries
L - jacket potato with cheese (HEA), beans and salad
D - Pepsi max chicken with rice
S - mango and more cherries

Haven't had a HEB yet so will probably have a couple of hifis soon.

twizzr · 15/02/2018 21:03

Fruit& Fibre bought ...dare not get a loaf of bread though could never stop at two slices....

raisedbyguineapigs · 15/02/2018 21:19

I was looking for a book with some hiit exercises in it and ended up buying Dr Ranjan Chaterjees book initially just for the exercises but found the rest of it really interesting. Some of the things I was going to try re: diet was not eating food with more than 5 ingredients and to do a sugar detox. I can do that on SW quite easily, but the only thing I was wondering about was fat. I have filled an empty fry light bottle with olive oil. I was thinking of using real oil and synning it. Does anyone use up all their syns on real oil and full fat stuff like mayonnaise ( which has less than 5 ingredients, but not the light mayo)? I really like the book and want to do it in tandem. If I'm cutting out sugar, then I won't be using up my syns anyway, as I mostly use them on sweet things.

Groovee · 15/02/2018 21:27

I got the Tesco spray virgin oil... forgot until I used it that I have no gall bladder and have issues with oil 🤦🏻‍♀️. My friend uses it all the time. Think it's 0.5 syns for 5 sprays. I don't like mayo.

OP posts:
raisedbyguineapigs · 15/02/2018 21:37

Is it literally oil in a spray bottle? If yes, I could just count the same I suppose. I tried spraying into a teaspoon but it didn't really work!
