Well done to all the losers. I joined last night and am very motivated, I lost a stone low carbing which was great but my weight loss ground to a halt 4 months ago. So I'm turning my thinking upside down with SW but am excited, especially as the losses in the class yesterday were amazing (considering you can eat BANANAS yum) and some in the room had lost many many stones. Treating myself to a slow cooker today, stew with potatoes seems a luxury! And I'm not going to weigh myself at home.... really taking myself outside of my comfort zone 😀 great to see all the motivation on here!

Groovee · 14/02/2018 08:24

On my 3rd bottle of water already. Upping the water, lots of speed foods to snack on. I will get to blinking target!

Hi. Can you eat to many vegetables, Over the last 3 weeks, I have given up Wine, Bread, Potatoes and sugar I do not take any syns that I know of.
I do eat the very lean bacon eggs tomato or beans breakfast.
Lunch usually a small tin of Mackerel in tomato sauce or spicy version.
Dinner is a large portion of vegetables, Squash, swede, lots of carrots a little parsnip, kale, cooked in the oven with a small amount of spray light, cauliflower and broccoli and celeriac. Not all at once but a large amount Or with Cabbage or spinach boiled. This can be with various meats Chicken breast, Ribeye steaks, Thick pork chop with all fat cut off or salmon.

Since starting I have only lost 6lbs. from 17 st 10lbs. If I am honest I expected more?

boats16 · 14/02/2018 13:30

Can anyone clarify this for me ? Can I use salt for seasoning when making a stew shall we say on the hob , or do i have to choose from spices ?

Groovee · 14/02/2018 16:46

You can use salt, pepper, many herbs and spices x

Five weeks in and 18lbs down eating lovely healthy meals and not scrimping on portions! I’m so pleased.
Doing five days SP now for weigh in Monday :)
If I can get 2 lbs off then I’ve been through three numbers on the scale! (In stone) Grin

Well done to everyone Grin

Oly5 · 14/02/2018 17:05

Twizzr, the diet you’re doing isn’t SW? You have no carbs or syns in there. I’d chat to your consultant for some help on the plan

Groovee · 14/02/2018 17:07

Pinch of Nom's Bacon, Mushroom and pea pasta with salad. DH and Dd tell me it's like carbonara. It's very tasty x

Thanks groovee. I use other spices but some things need a pinch of salt. Well done mollie85 ! My loss is slow , about 1lb a week but last week it was 2 so things are looking upSmile

MumInTheCity · 14/02/2018 18:57

I feel like I've eaten loads today but all on track still:
B - banana
L - bacon and mushroom pasta bake (HEA for cheese)
D - burger in a bun (HEB) with chips and loads of salad (5 syns for cheese slice and sauces)
S - punnet of cherries

MabelStark · 14/02/2018 19:19

Hiya. Can I join in please. I started SW a few weeks ago at 14.3 stone. I've set my initial target at 11.10 as this was the last time I felt ok with my weight - though is prob still a little high as I'm only 5'4!
Weight loss has been as follows
Week 1 -5.5lb
Week 2 +1lb
Week 3 -5lbs
Week 4 -3.5lb (slimmer of the week!)
Week 5 maintained

After losing a lot of weight a few years ago by low carbing that I couldn't maintain. I am rediscovering cooking and eating nice food all the time! And eating fruit by the ton as I'd forgotten how much I loved it - as even though I wasn't fully low-carbing I was sticking to some of the principles?!
Disappointed to maintain this week but I've been inactive with a heavy cold and it's 'star week'. I was hoping for my next sticker. I find them very motivating. Blush

Groovee · 14/02/2018 19:25

Welcome Mabel. Well done on your start.

Just wanting to post my progress. I lost 4lb last week and 3lb this week, I'm so pleased. Can't believe how much food I've been eating. I've felt really hungry today (not sure if it's time of the month) and eaten mountains of fruit and a huge portion of pasta.

I've managed to not give in to chocolate cravings yet but if I fancy something chocolately does anyone have any suggestions?

Also, I had a roasted pepper and goats cheese soup from EAT today for lunch, anyone know how many syns I should put down for this? (I used HEA for milk)

MyGuideJools · 14/02/2018 21:37

well done losers and welcome newbies🍏
After last week's loss of 5lb I've had a bad 2 days. Too many pancakes yesterday and dinner out today (with cake) Blush
I've got to get back onto it tomorrow.

eeyoredebbie · 14/02/2018 21:46

Hi ladies
Just to say first of all I've followed this thread for months and well done to all you losers! Unfortunately I don't get alot of time to contribute on here.

I'd like to ask about final target if i may. Have you all set one and if so is it within your recommended BMI?

So far I've lost over 13 stone and my current target is a stone away but I'd need to lose over two stone to get to healthy BMI.

My losses have really stalled right now, lost 2lb overall since new year! I've upped my exercise and cut down on syns. I'm happy where I am but would love a few more pounds to hit my target but even then won't be within BMI. But I've lost half my body weight and am just getting into size 14 clothes from bursting out of a 32! My losses have been slow and steady but I've never given up and I've vowed there is no going back for me!

eeyoredebbie · 14/02/2018 21:48

Sorry posted too soon, I wanted to say thank you for the support and encouragement you provide even to us lurkers and here's my pic x

Well Done Eeyore That is truly amazing!! My target weight is not in a healthy BMI. I will still be officially "overweight", but I know that I will be happy there and I figure that after being so large myself I have the extra skin that weighs too. If you watch the weight loss documentaries they often take of about a stone in loose skin when they remove it, so I think I will be happy about a stone above where I should be IYSWIM. That's my logic anyway!!

I finally got my 5.5 stone award last night!! Chuffed to get it at last!

eeyoredebbie · 14/02/2018 22:56

Thank you Positive 😊 I was thinking the same about loose skin, I must have at least a stone’s worth 😂

Groovee · 15/02/2018 05:55

@eeyoredebbie we talk elsewhere as you know. I will be in the overweight category if I ever lose this 5lb. It's where I feel comfy and I think that is what is important.

You've done amazingly.

Had a great day food wise yesterday. Hopefully today will be just as good.

backinaminute · 15/02/2018 07:30

Oh my life Eeyore - you look amazing. I'm so impressed with how some have you have done, it's completely inspirational.

I lost 1.5lb last night. I'm happy with that.

Can I ask those of you who have big losses 3/4lb a week..... is there something you do specific that gets you them.

I have speed with every meal, I've cut back on snacks that are free and try to only have fruit. I have been using between 5-10 syns.

I do wonder if my portion sizes are too big but my consultant keeps banging on about 'you can't eat too much free food'.

There just seems no rhyme or reason to it. I've been doing it six weeks, I write everything down and measure where I should. Last week I lost 3lb, this week 1.5lb but is the week before that only 0.5 but I can't see that I've done anything different. I've stuck to plan the whole time (with one night away at the start of jan where I went over on syns).

I'm not really moaning, I just wonder if I'm missing something. When we set the mini-targets in group and people say 'I'm going to go for 3' and everyone gets excited - I just don't understand what they are doing different than my plodding along 100% on plan.

By the by, I did a Body coach HIIT session yesterday- first proper exercise in a long time. Felt awful at the time and can hardly move today Grin

fromtheshires · 15/02/2018 07:45

I always ensure I have a big poo on weigh Day and wee just before I weigh backinaminute. Every little helps!!

Seriously though I am what you would call a big loser and on average lose 3lbs a week according to my snazzy spreadsheet. Along with the above, I have;
cut out all fizzy drinks as there are studies showing that even diet pop can stall weight loss
Keep my syns down to 5 maximum a day unless it's a Sunday where I up them for the Sunday roast
Keep my carb portions down. Yes we can have unlimited pasta, potato etc however I know carbs are bad for water retention so have smaller portions of these now which are actually normal portions for everyone else.

Lastly, the bigger losses won't last forever and I know the more I lose the more I will have smaller and smaller losses as it's only the bigger people who see losses like this week in week out in my experience.

Eeyore - amazing work. You should be so proud of yourself!

My update for this week is 3lbs off, club 10, SOTW and just 2.5lbs off my 2 stone award!!!

Flutterby81 · 15/02/2018 08:23

@eeyoredebbie wow what an amazing loss well done Smile

boats16 · 15/02/2018 08:29

Well done eeyore . Thats definitely showing it can be done. I was wondering whats the difference between speed foods and free foods ?
I thought free foods were ok ?

Oldowl · 15/02/2018 09:22

Wow! Eeyore, that is amazing- well done.

Boats16- free food are low energy density like bananas, pineapple, potatoes, lean meat.

Speed food are 'Super-low' energy density like apples, oranges, leafy veg, courgettes, etc so if you fill up on these you will lose weight quicker.

So try to fill a third of your plate with speed, even better go for half a plate.

eeyoredebbie · 15/02/2018 09:39

Thanks all 😁

Whilst it's great to aim for big losses, this plan is actually designed to see you lose 1 to 2lb a week so slow and consistent losses are great. In my experience some people getting bigger losses are either at the start or are on and off plan and lose big one week and gain it back the next.my average was 2lb a week although I've been pretty static since Christmas 🙈😁
