Having lost 4st in 2017... I'm looking at target by Valentine's Day if possible.

Look forward to welcoming everyone back and welcome to those embarking on their journey x

@Groovee @latedecember1963 Thank you ladies for your ideas. My problem is am rushing in the morning so don't have time to cook breakfast. I will try the cereals and yogurts mentioned. Am disheartened because I have been on it for almost 8 was and weight loss is only 3lbs. I will never get to my target in time. It really disheartens me. Each week I hope its dropped 2lbs but no joy !

Groovee · 09/02/2018 08:01

@znmke I often make egg muffins and pop them in the fridge. They're great for grabbing on the go and have protein and can be packed full of speed foods too.

Oh sorry Groove, I was just encouraging those who don’t seem to eat very much on SW to eat more if they want to as you can still lose. I hope your reflux improves, must be awful

Oly5 · 09/02/2018 08:56

Znmke, can u ask if you’re eating a lot of carbs with each meal? I know SW is not low carb but I found the week I didn’t lose was when I’d been stuffing myself with potatoes and pasta. When I cut back on these a bit and filled up more on veg, eggs, meat, big meals like curries etc, the weight cane off quicker. Just a thought

Groovee · 09/02/2018 10:20

No worries @Oly5. My friend said my portions would have her starving until she saw me eating and saw how badly it could affect me. Still can't eat peppers 😭 I love them but I'm so ill with them.

@znmke what do you eat for your evening meals? Just wondering if we can try and help you x

Made toad in the hole today, only 4.5 syns for the whole thing using milk as HEA and SW sausages from Iceland. Was lovely! Will definitely be making it again.

B - nothing (woke up late)
L - SW ham, spinach and tomato quiche with salad
D - toad in the hole, roast carrots and parsnips, mushy peas and syn free onion gravy (2 syns)

I’ve just come on to recommend M&S skinny beef burgers for when you need something quick. They are free as they are low fat.. and delicious!
We also love the skinny sausages they do (1 syn each)

Testarossa1 · 10/02/2018 09:27

The only carb I've cut back on is bread. Completely cut it out. I have ryvita crackerbreads instead. (1syn each) I still eat potatoes, pasta, rice etc. Couldn't do without those. I do occasionally swap out white potatoes for sweet ones if it works with whatever we're having. Today I'm having
B-bran flakes with natural yoghurt and a bit of honey
L- 2 eggs with crackerbreads and salad
D- SW lasagne lots of speed veg

Snacks, fruit or a hifi bar. I've lost 9.5lbs so far and think I've lost another 1lb this week. I very rarely feel hungry and don't feel like I've had to cut back too much, apart from bread and the obvious junk food crap. I did miss bread to start with, but not so much now.

latedecember1963 · 10/02/2018 11:29

Ooh, that toad in the hole looks delicious! Is the recipe on the SW website?
DS1 is coming to us for lunch tomorrow and would be very happy if I made him a blast from the past of his childhood.

MumInTheCity · 10/02/2018 12:00

latedecember - the recipe is from the pinch of nom website. It was delicious, can highly recommend!

Oly5 · 10/02/2018 14:35

Testa, that day plan looks fine to me. If it’s coming off, it’s coming off!

latedecember1963 · 10/02/2018 16:25

Thank you, Muminthecity. I've printed the recipe off. Going to make a separate gluten free version for DH so he doesn't feel left out.

Tweetypie30 · 10/02/2018 17:00

Why is it that some days all I can think of is all the naughty food that I want to eat and other days I'm not bothered at all.

I'm about to start making tea soon, veggie curry using the sw tikka masala sauce. I hope it tastes nice.

MumInTheCity · 10/02/2018 21:00

You're welcome latedecember Smile

tweetypie I have days like that too, I just try to keep busy and distract myself until the thoughts pass.

Today's food:
B - banana
L - SW quiche with leftover roast veg
D - WW wrap pizza with chips and salad (HEA and B)
S - quarter of a tub of halo top salted caramel ice cream (4 syns)

Testarossa1 · 11/02/2018 09:59

Oly5 thanks. That's roughly what most days look like, cereal with yoghurt/fruit, a light-ish lunch and a proper dinner. I'll snack when I'm hungry, not just because I'm having a cuppa and feel I should have something with it. I don't buy biscuits, crisps, chocolate etc, if it's not in the house, I can't eat it. It's obviously working, as you said, it's coming off!

MumInTheCity · 11/02/2018 18:41

How's everyone's weekend been? Mines been a bit rubbish as I have a rotten cold and cough and feel dreadful. Managed to stay on plan though-
B - nothing (wasn't hungry)
L - slice of SW quiche and spoonful of beans
D - pizza topped chicken breast with chips and veg
S - 2 hifi bars (HEB)

backinaminute · 12/02/2018 06:43

Hi, can I join you guys please?

I started at the start of Jan and lost 11lbs (super chuffed) and I'm determined to stick at it this time.

At the start I had pretty much exactly 5 stone to loose, so lots. I'm determined to take it steady though and not flake out when the loosing slows down or I have a bad week.

Sounds like you are all doing really well.

PositiveAttitude · 12/02/2018 06:51

Welcome onboard backinaminute

I have struggled this weekend, but I am hoping to have done enough to get my 5.5 stone award tomorrow night. I am certainly feeling as if more weight has gone these last few weeks after being "stuck" for so long.

Good luck to everyone weighing in today.

MyGuideJools · 12/02/2018 07:06

good luck today everyone. it's my first weigh in🤞
I've pretty much stayed on plan except for one bowl of chips at the pub!
some good recipe ideas on here. thanks!

Flutterby81 · 12/02/2018 08:17

Good luck for wi MyGuideJools Smile
No loss for me today but happy with that as had dinner out Friday then chips Saturday and also drinks out so pleased with sts. Also no exercise at all this week as haven’t felt well. Overall Iv done terribly since I started again in jan but 5months until my holiday so I need to get my head down and start some serious losing Grin hope everyone has a good day.

Groovee · 12/02/2018 08:38

Had my mum's birthday lunch. It was lovely as it was tapas.

Food wise I have been fine but I just never know what will happen on the scales.

MumInTheCity · 12/02/2018 10:39

Good luck MyGuideJools - I have my WI tonight as well. Hoping all the cough sweets and lemsips I've been living off haven't done too much damage!

latedecember1963 · 12/02/2018 11:42

Welcome, Backinaminute.
Made the toad in the hole and it lived up to the hype! Made a GF version for DH and that worked well too.

I've put 1lb on today but, like Flutterby, I've eaten out this week so not too disappointed.
Going to enjoy pancakes tomorrow and then give up biscuits for Lent from Wednesday.
Hope everyone has a good week.

Tweetypie30 · 12/02/2018 12:14

Hi backinaminute. It sounds like we're in a similar position. I re joined again in January and have so far lost 11lbs. I've got about 4/5 stone to loose. I'm determined to keep going this time. This is about the point that I would normally give up. I'm so determined not to do it this time. Good luck.

backinaminute · 12/02/2018 13:41

Thank you. I go to a group on a Wednesday night for WI.

Tweety - Sounds just the same. I just keep thinking if I can loose a pound a week that I will be nearly there by Xmas.

I'm out for the day with kids and dp. So soup in a flask for lunch but stopping for dinner on the way home at a brewers fayre. I'm thinking steak or gammon with a baked potato and salad. Just sounds so depressingly dry.

I am determined though. I don't really struggle at home but do when out and about but need to get my head in the mindset of making good choices rather than avoiding eating out otherwise, it's just not sustainable. I tend to just avoid stuff because I know I'm not very good at having 'just a little bit' but I need to train myself.

I'm so cross with myself. I lost 5 stone after my youngest was born - 5 years ago and have put it all back on again. That was with WW. I did it really quickly and was breastfeeding at the same time which really helped. That's why I need this to be a permanent change this time.

You all sound very lovely and also realistic about this, I think as much support as possible is only a good thing.
