New thread to see in 2018. Everyone welcome.

Having lost 4st in 2017... I'm looking at target by Valentine's Day if possible.

Look forward to welcoming everyone back and welcome to those embarking on their journey x

thanks Groovee I better lay off the canteen sarnies at work for a bit!
I'm starting proper todayShock cannot believe how much weight I've put on!!
I'm feeling positive and have started with yogurt and blueberries this morning.
Off to do a shop for some lovely veg!

1haudyerwheesht · 05/02/2018 09:34

It's my first weigh in this afternoon. If I'm being honest, anything less than 2lbs and I'll be disappointed. We shall see!

Groovee · 05/02/2018 09:41

Good luck @1haudyerwheesht

I don’t understand the thin about shop bought sandwiches either.. especially if they are wholemeal. I’ve just been making my own tbh.
I’m slowly losing I think though feel like I’ve been stuffing my face in the last week, weigh in tomorrow night

Testarossa1 · 05/02/2018 10:46

Soup is the way forward! Just been weighed and have lost 3lb this week! Super Pleased makes a 9.5lb overall loss. Grin

boo1507 · 05/02/2018 11:05

Week 3 weigh in at 1. Really nervous.

Been sooooo good this week - I really, really want a decent loss.

Cross your fingers for me.

latedecember1963 · 05/02/2018 11:49

Well done, Testarossa! I find soup is good for weight loss. A few years ago there was a TV programme that compared the weight loss between 2sets of people. The set that ate homemade soup had more success than those who only ate soup occasionally. I think it was something to do with your body feeling more full after soup so you're less likely to want to snack.

I've lost 11/2 this morning so I feel happier than last Monday. I've started knitting DS2 a jumper for his birthday to limit my nibbling in the evenings.

Hope everyone has a good week.

Pipsqueak11 · 05/02/2018 11:50

Thanks Grovee and my guide

Good tip re water flushing - will give it a go . Motivation is so easy to de rail . I probably just need to accept there will be ups and downs and each up is not a failure if the overall trend is down . Hard though!!!

Flutterby81 · 05/02/2018 12:20

Well done on all the losses Smile
I fell right off the wagon again this week and just kept rolling lol
3lb gain but well expected need to stay focused and on plan I downloaded an app that calculates your goal and I need to lose 1.6lb a week if I want to hit my goal for my holiday on July I don’t want that I go up as il never achieve it so need to stay focused and lose each week, if I can just stop sabotaging myself that is!!

Jennywallpaper · 05/02/2018 13:13

Can someone help me... in regards to the 20cals = 1syn rule, do you round up or down etc. So for example 15 cals.. would it be half a syn or round up to 1 syn. Tia Smile

MumInTheCity · 05/02/2018 13:49

Well done losers!

Jenny - I'd always round up just to be on the safe side

I'm weighing in tonight, really hoping for 2.5lb off as that will make it a stone in 2 weeks. Fingers crossed!

boo1507 · 05/02/2018 14:01

3.5lb off. Feeling chuffed

MyGuideJools · 05/02/2018 14:44

with regards to water drinking, I always find it easier to have a mug of hot water in this weather. just seems more comforting.

1haudyerwheesht · 05/02/2018 16:12

Flutterby81 · 05/02/2018 16:19

Groovee · 05/02/2018 17:28

Well done on the losses.

Syn free Mince and Tatties for tea. Dragged myself in for a part day at work. So knackered now. As DH and Ds are going out and Dd is out, I will maybe have a bath and bed x

Groovee, your meals always look so lovely. Thai chicken noodles from the October magazine for me tonight.

Are you on track for target next week?

MumInTheCity · 05/02/2018 20:19

4lb off and got my stone award! 1 stone 1.5lb in 2 weeks.

MyGuideJools · 05/02/2018 21:21

well done mum that's amazing Star

Groovee · 05/02/2018 21:23

Unless I have a massive loss target feels like Easter. Have 5lbs to lose but it's just not shifting!

Well done that’s a brilliant loss Smile

Groovee · 05/02/2018 21:24

@Oldowl I always think everyone else food looks better than mine. 😂

I hope I am phrasing this politely, but do people usually lose more a week if they have quite a way to go? Well done to everyone who has lost anything, but I am amazed by some of the amounts lost over a couple of weeks. I am expecting my target 2 stone loss to come off slowly.
