Well done on all the weight losses. Smile

Sadly I am doing this alone as there are no groups where I live, so using this thread for support and Google resources. I managed to buy the books second hand from eBay.

Bit disappointed I dont get any certificates or stickers though... Sad

Getting into my skinny jeans will have to be its own reward Grin

Yesterday I took bulgar wheat with tomatoes, peppers, spring onion, celery, fresh chives, parsley, rosemary, a twist of salt & pepper and a squeeze of lemon juice. Quick to prepare and you can use whatever you happen to have in.

Another member brought sausage rolls where she'd used a lean pork filling wrapped in WW wraps, brushed with egg & baked in the oven. I don't eat meat but lots of people said they were delicious.

Hello!

Just joined SW today on a whim really and hope it's ok for me to join this thread :) I have 3 stone to lose.

Will likely have to start doing it properly from next week as have done all my meal prep and shopping for this week and while I eat a lot of fruit and veg already I also eat a lot of full fat dairy as I really cannot STAND low fat yoghurt, cheese etc - bleugh. Anyone else do this plan and not eat low fat or fat free dairy?

Daffodil397 · 30/01/2018 19:26

Hello! I re-joined sw on Monday after trying last year and not getting my head round it. I’ve got quite a lot to lose now so I’m going to try and focus on it properly!
bakedapple full fat dairy is ok, you just have to have less of it.
I’ve started getting soya stuff in for my dd and am finding that soya yoghurt is quite nice and I don’t think there are that many sweeteners in it- might work for you?
Cheese- I don’t think there’s any way round that one though!!

MumInTheCity · 30/01/2018 19:44

B - Satsuma and grapes
L - jacket potato, prawns, Marie Rose sauce and salad (4 syns)
D - Rosemary and goats cheese pasta with asparagus and baby corn (4 syns)
S - oat cookies (HEB)

bakedappleflavour · 30/01/2018 19:58

It's more the milk and yoghurt, I can cope without cheese, or less of it anyway :)

Oldowl · 30/01/2018 20:11

2lb off tonight. Really pleased after 1lb and 0.5lb losses for a while.

Well done Muminthecity. x

Kez100 · 30/01/2018 20:12

3.5 lb off tonight (week 1) thanks to those who encouraged me to join last week.

Groovee · 30/01/2018 21:03

Lost 1lb this week. Only 5lb to target. This is scary!

I made vegetable Jambalaya. Used the chicken Jambalaya but with veg stock. Lots of positive comments.

Hi
Joined SW yesterday so today was my first day - looking to lose 2 stone. Just struggling with the concept really as it's quite alien to me.
Today I've eaten:
B: 2 eggs,tomatoes, mushrooms (all fried in fry-light)
L: homemade SW recipe tomato and basil soup with two small slices whole meal bread
D: 3 reduced fat pork sausages, sweet potato SW chips and baked beans
Snacks: loads of fruit, fat free natural yoghurt
Also 250ml semi milk in tea and coffee
Having eaten all of the above, does that mean I still haven't had any Syns? I'm actually pretty full - can't get my head round eating so much will make me lose weight? I usually calorie count (around 1200) per day when I want to lose weight and I'm sure I must've eaten that amount already?

Groovee · 30/01/2018 21:32

SW don't count calories. So don't worry about that. As long as you feel full x

Scaredofthegym · 30/01/2018 21:39

Thanks groovee - I know I've got to change my "how many calories" mindset. It's ingrained (I have a mum who recites the calories of practicallgy everything you put in your mouth) Grin

znmke · 30/01/2018 21:46

Had my weigh in today and have lost only 0.5 lb. it's so depressing. After two spin classes over weekend and a body strengthening class yesterday I would have hope to have lost at least 2lbs but no such luck. Overall over 9 weeks my weight loss has been only 3lbs in total. I am not sure what am doing wrong. Can someone please advise.

Oldowl · 30/01/2018 22:08

Scaredofthegym, I have been doing SW since Sept and always felt full. I have never eaten so much good stuff. I eat loads, but it is mostly free food.

Znmke, when I did loads of exercise I hardly lost. You are building muscle and that is heavier than fat. Muscle needs more calories so you will lose eventually. Weight loss mainly happens in the kitchen not the gym. Moving more helps but does not lead to huge losses. Eating less is key.

Tweetypie30 · 30/01/2018 22:19

3lb off for me tonight and I got my half stone award. Really pleased with myself.

Groovee · 30/01/2018 22:24

Well done @Tweetypie30

@znmke you could be retaining water while your muscle tries to repair itself post exercise. Lots of water and protein post exercise is good for repairing them.

Today was my first day..

B - porridge oats with almond milk and banana

L - 2 boiled eggs, 5 slices of peppered deli pork (no visible fat)

D - prawn tikka madam with rice (recipe from the slimming world website)

S - mullerlight and Starbucks tall skimmed cappuccino

Sound ok to you? I am full!

Pipsqueak11 · 30/01/2018 23:28

znmke have you measured yourself as i found when i was doing a lot of exercise that i didnt always lose lbs but did lose inches - i guess to do with the relative weight of muscle v fat > dont give up ... if you had not been doing sw you perhaps would have put on weight over the same period and you are at least heading in the right direction .

Pipsqueak11 · 30/01/2018 23:47

got it thanks latedecember
v useful thanks

Vintage62 · 31/01/2018 00:05

Well, after the first week I have only lost half a pound. However, before joining last week I had been on a (stupid) crash diet for 10 days, losing (according to my inefficient bathroom scales) about 5 pounds. I hope that my body is adjusting to a regular intake of healthy food, and that next week I will be on track. I have been very good with meal plans, and made an enormous vat of veggie chilli, and even weighed the roast potatoes my DH cooked on Sunday. For various reasons lunch during the week is always a sandwich, but you can get a lot of salad in 2 small slices of wholemeal bread! I don't drink alcohol, and am not fond of chocolate, so my sins are reserved for roast potatoes, Walkers French Fries and Parmesan cheese.

znmke · 31/01/2018 01:58

Thank you ladies. I am so down with the weight loss am tempted to doing Herballife in combo with SW yet I don't agree with shake diets.
I exercise for mental sanity so can't really stop but it's not as much. Am keeping a diary will post my food intake here too.

znmke · 31/01/2018 02:05

Pipsqeauk11 I have lost inches as clothes feel much loser

Kez100 · 31/01/2018 03:56

Zmnke are you far from target?
