New thread to see in 2018. Everyone welcome.

Having lost 4st in 2017... I'm looking at target by Valentine's Day if possible.

Look forward to welcoming everyone back and welcome to those embarking on their journey x

Tweetypie30 · 16/01/2018 18:48

Well done caremummy and thanks for sharing the recipe.

caremummy · 16/01/2018 19:03

your welcome and thanks xx

Petaldrops · 16/01/2018 19:04

2lbs off for me this week.
@TinyDoom could it be star week ? I find that it can make a difference to the scales

latedecember1963 · 16/01/2018 19:45

Marmite, I'm a slow loser too. My niece is a GP and reckons it's better health-wise to lose weight steadily and it's more likely to be sustainable in the long term.

Tinydoom, you've done brilliantly since September so keep going. When I did SW years ago I sometimes felt a bit ignored by the consultant at times when I felt that some moral support was needed. You've paid your £4.95 so you're well within your rights to ask to be called by the correct name too!

Tweetypie, your casserole idea inspired me to use up some of the veg in my fridge as an antidote to the hailstorms raging outside.

Groovee, hope work goes ok tomorrow.

TinyDoom · 16/01/2018 20:04

Thank you so much for all of the supportive messages.

@redpony1, I do have her number, and will try texting her later this week once I'm feeling like a reasonably human again. I feel for her because it honestly takes an hour to go around to everyone at group, which doesn't leave much time to talk about much else.

@00alwaysbusymum, was actually doing an SP week and was expecting a pretty significant loss, which I think is one of the reasons I have got so upset. I have eaten courgetti and cauliflower rice and extra spinach under everything until it was coming out my ears this week.

@petaldrops, I have the mirena coil and my periods have stopped, so I don't actually know! Blush I may mark this down in my calendar and see if it happens again in four to five weeks and that may solve the mystery.

@latedecember1963 it is mildly frustrating that she keeps confusing me with the other member (she even chased me down to give me the other member's food diary at the end of class once). We did join the same week and both have dark hair, but she's at least 10 years younger and two stone lighter, so perhaps I should be flattered?

I had baked salmon, courgetti, and broccoli for dinner. Keeping on it and will just look at this as the start of an exciting new week.

Oly5 · 16/01/2018 20:14

Argh, just weighed in for week 2 and have put half a pound on! I have started having pudding (meringue, muller light and grapes) every evening so maybe that’s it.. plus I’ve forgotten to measure out my milk.
Am massively disappointed as hve definitely only eaten slimming works foods and have stuck to my syns.. but clearly I didn’t do something right so need to knuckle down. Think I’ll up the SP foods! I’m breastfeeding so am told to have four healthy extra a choices (the milk category) and two healthy b choices every day. I seem to be eating a lot of cheese!

Oly5 · 16/01/2018 20:19

Ps does anybody weigh themselves at home on between classes? I was thinking I wouldn’t but now think maybe I should to ensure I am losing!

Oly5 · 16/01/2018 20:20

Sorry for typos btw

calzone · 16/01/2018 20:49

B. Melon

L.....leftover spicy chicken rice
Grapes

D...turkey meatballs with tagliatelle and cucumber
Jelly 1/2 syn with muller light and blueberries and 1 syn cream

Another good day on plan

Marcine · 16/01/2018 20:55

Oly - I'm breastfeeding too but can't stomach 4 portions of dairy a day, its most than I was eating while not dieting! I'm doing 2x a and aiming for 2x b but sometimes I feel like I am eating a slice of bread for the sake of it.

Oly5 · 16/01/2018 21:59

Thanks Marvin, I agree. I’m eating 60g of cheese a day - I never had cheese before as considered it fattening. I might skip it a few days and have lean meat instead. I’ve eaten loads this week and actually, I could have happily eaten less. I’m desperate to lose this 3st!

Oly5 · 16/01/2018 22:00

Marcine, my silly phone!

Groovee · 16/01/2018 22:15

Lost half a pound this week. I am disappointed as was hoping my good week would pay off.

Wondering if any of you slimming world gurus may be able to help me... I have just prepared my gammon etc for the pulled gammon recipe for me to slow cook tomorrow whilst at work and there doesn't seem to me like there's enough liquid... has anyone else tried it and thought the same, cooked it and it was ok? I just don't want it to be dry.

caremummy · 16/01/2018 22:52

and a 1.5 syn alpro go on. Finishing the day on 11.5 syns and quite good meals.

top up shop done. Got lots of speed and asparagus ofc.

this week should be a gd week (I hope)

OwlinaTree · 16/01/2018 22:55

Hi all, some good losses on here, well done for getting back into the groove guys. Tiny try not to let the gain get to you, sometimes we have a gain for no reason, it sucks. Keep at it, hopefully you'll have a good loss next week.

Well I finally managed to get back to class and I've gained 5lb. So I've got to lose 2lb this week or I'll have to pay!! I've got one night out planned for Saturday, supposed to be having pizza. Wondering whether to bring a load of sushi for myself instead? Or a load of salad and just have one slice of pizza? I'll definitely have a drink though!

Tweetypie30 · 16/01/2018 22:58

Yeah, I'm glad I've inspired someone latedecember. I had half of my stew last night with mashed potato and broccoli and the rest tonight with cous cous.

It was my first weigh in tonight and I lost 4.5lbs. I'm so pleased with myself and I'm aiming for my half stone award next week.

Even more pleased with myself for not coming home and eating loads of rubbish food to celebrate.

caremummy · 16/01/2018 23:33

Well done on the losses everyone. 0.5 lb less of fat is better than a maintain or gain.
It can be so annoying though. The losses will catch up eventually though 🙂

raisedbyguineapigs · 17/01/2018 02:46

Is it the campfire stew? There doesn't seem to be much liquid then there seemed too much liquid but it does come together in the end! It was lovely too!

FirstTimeMummy25 · 17/01/2018 07:09

@raisedbyguineapigs no it's slow cooked pulled gammon, I'm going to put it on and see what happens.
Campfire stew does look lovely, I've heard from others that it is too. Something I can try for next week.

TinyDoom · 17/01/2018 10:53

I made campfire stew last week and it was so lovely. I had to do it in the oven as I forgot to put it on early enough for the slow cooker. It was so good.

latedecember1963 · 17/01/2018 11:31

When I lose "only" half a pound, I tell myself that's the equivalent to a block of Lurpak I won't be carrying around anymore.

caremummy · 17/01/2018 11:59

B: not really breakfast but choc almond milk (a) and 10 cal jelly (0.5) enough to fill me slightly before lunch

Oly5 · 17/01/2018 12:21

Latedecember, that’s a great way of looking at it!!
