New thread to see in 2018. Everyone welcome.

Having lost 4st in 2017... I'm looking at target by Valentine's Day if possible.

Look forward to welcoming everyone back and welcome to those embarking on their journey x

I do think hummus needs the tahini which is the synned part.

Went to friends tonight for an Indian takeaway and I took an Aldi chicken tikka masala and had boiled rice.

Full English for breakfast.

dancemom · 14/01/2018 09:07

First official weigh in of the New Year! Put on 10lbs over December so started back on in and lost 3lbs this week - hurrah!

Have also discovered Broghies this week - love them!

00alwaysbusymum · 14/01/2018 09:34

Morning - caved a bit last night and had some Xmas tobolorone - ekkk but was really good the rest of the day having just a banana for breakfast, omelette for lunch and steak & rice & Veg for dinner.

Does anyone have any good slimming world recipes for beef brisket?

Thanks x

00alwaysbusymum · 14/01/2018 09:45

Well done dancemom on your loss !

raisedbyguineapigs · 14/01/2018 09:46

I've got the campfire stew on the go in the slow cooker. A beef brisket might taste nice in it instead of gammon?

Groovee · 14/01/2018 09:50

Well done @dancemom

Burlesque today. Doing burger in a bowl for tea.

Thanks Groovee and 00

Really want to get this 10lb back off and maybe a few more.

Good luck to everyone else!

Marcine · 14/01/2018 10:37

I've just joined - I have a couple of stone to lose (well more really, but I would be happy with two!). Lost 4lbs at first WI so really pleased.

caremummy · 14/01/2018 12:21

Brunch : veg sausage sandwich w/rocket and spinach (2.5) (B)
Gym again at 2
4 meals til weigh in

Flutterby81 · 14/01/2018 13:15

Well done dance mom. And welcome Marcine. Good day here today.
There’s a recipe on pinch of nom called Cuban beef that would work well I think with brisket similar to campfire stew type thing.

caremummy · 14/01/2018 17:11

Post gym snack: 1.5 syns on alpro go on (best dairy free yoghurt I've found) and hexA of dark chocolate almond milk

caremummy · 14/01/2018 17:25

Tea: syn free butterbean houmous (not 100% but much better than my chickpea attempts), rocket, carrot, cucumber, LM rosemary sausages and sweet potato chips

emwithme · 14/01/2018 18:49

Spent all day yesterday feeling sorry for myself on the sofa (got this evil virus thing). Hardly ate at all, just an apple, a pear, three satsumas, a SW ready meal (the chicken noodle one...it wasn't very nice) and two HiFi bars.

Feeling a bit better today, having slept for almost 13 hours. Have cooked a cottage pie for Monday/Tuesday evenings so don't have to think after long days at work.

Today's food:

Brunch: SW fry up (bacon medallions, mushrooms, fried eggs, baked beans, plum tomatoes)
Dinner: Roast beef, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, carrots, cabbage, broccoli (and proper gravy).
HEA: milk
HEB: HiFi bars.

Testarossa1 · 14/01/2018 19:25

Had Spanish chicken and rice tonight, nice but needs loads more paprika than the recipe says! My other half made sugar free waffles for pudding. I was good, only had half (I reckon about 3yns) mixed berries and a tsp of honey. But gosh was so yummy!!

First weigh in tomorrow, I'll be happy with a pound off, anything else will be a bonus!

DwangelaForever · 14/01/2018 19:27

I lost 3lbs my first week (I weigh in on Thursday nights) which I'm delighted with, but I've had a bad weekend!! It's so hard staying on plan when I'm in the house all day. So much easier at work!

KinkyDoritowithsparkleson · 14/01/2018 19:51

Day 2 went okay. Exercise is still limited atm, but food was fine:
Porridge, almond milk, tsp honey
Linguine with a tuna and caper sauce thing
Left over chilli and rice
An apple

Tesco order came so finally have berries to make my breakfast speed friendly.

I haven't told DH I've joined up again. I think he would roll his eyes at me as I've had so many failed attempts in the past few years. He keeps offering me goodies from the Christmas leftover stash. I don't think I want anyone to know I'm doing it, I want it just to be about me. I'm in charge of shopping and I work evenings now so often have a separate meal when I get in. I think it will go unnoticed. Saying that, I do get very arsey on diets!! Grin

KinkyDoritowithsparkleson · 14/01/2018 19:52

Some really great losses on this thread. I'm hypothyroid so hoping my first weigh in will be kind in spite of shocking metabolism.

Pipsqueak11 · 14/01/2018 20:20

kinky - me too re hypothyroidism . i have not found that it has affected weightloss though so far so hope that is the same for you. i have a lot to lose but have got off to agreat start and lost 18.5 lbs since end of November so feeling super pleased with that. good luck!

PositiveAttitude · 14/01/2018 20:48

Kinky I didn't tell anyone when I started. I managed to keep it quiet for a number of weeks. DD4 found out and then tried to cover for me when DH asked her where I was one evening. She is rubbish at lying (for which I am very grateful) and what she told DH made it sound as if I was having a raging affair, so I reasoned it was better to own up to doing SW rather than have DH thinking I was up to all sorts!! Grin

Had quite a good weekend, although I feel I was a bit carb heavy yesterday. I know you are supposed to be able to have as much carb as you want, but I have found that too many carbs and my weightloss is affected. Any loss this week would be good.

Groovee · 14/01/2018 20:57

Lol at your DH thinking you were having an affair.

@emwithme hope you are on the mend.

Am ending today on 5 syns. Haven't wanted them and didn't see the point in forcing myself just for the sake of it.

calzone · 14/01/2018 21:08

A whole weekend on plan and no alcohol.

B....LM sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes and poached eggs
Apple

D....roast chicken, frozen roasted potatoes (3) peas and broccoli, sprouts and carrots, gravy (3)
Jelly 0.5
Squirty cream 2

caremummy · 14/01/2018 21:30

WI at 530 tomorrow Sad
It used to be at 730, at least means I can have my tea after WI

I've got my massive love of fruit and veg back, I've always eaten a lot, but now i'm going to them first Grin

This not full 15 syns is doing me good

Had a lemon cheesecake 10 cal jelly (0.5), a nectarine and an orange.

Once I've done some more tidying I'll go for some more, probably some veggies.

I think I'm finishing the day on 4.5 syns

calzone · 14/01/2018 21:42
