Today I'm restarting slimming world, been doing it on line and would love a buddy or support.

Weighed this morning at 12st 7.5lbs and really want to be back to 11 stone in time for school holidays partly to get back into my summer clothes !

Struggling with motivation and can't exercise as hurt my leg 😥

Anyone want to join in x
Hoping my target is doable x

Good morning @Artofnoise1, I use my HEs too.... Cheese is one of those (my second biggest weakness, only wine being the first), and bread (although I am trying to avoid that).

Today's menu is:

Snack of a large banana before my work out
Breakfast: Overnight oats, with apricot, strawberry and blueberries
Lunch: Minted split pea salad (1 Syn for the olive oil in the dressing) with boiled eggs.
Dinner: Heck sausages, with SW chips, egg and mushy peas. 7 syns

I made the mistake in thinking all Heck sausages were low in Syn value, and these need using up....

Groovee · 10/06/2017 06:56

I use my healthy extras. I don't always post them as I may not have decided what to have yet. I also try to vary them. So one day may be cheese as a recipe and the next milk for a hot chocolate. For my B choice, I vary between, sugar puffs, Raspberry wheats, porridge oats, crispbreads, bread, hifi bars or alpen light or benefit light bars. I might use them for breakfast, or I may use them at supper time.

Artofnoise1 · 10/06/2017 08:08

Thanks for that groovee I also use most of my 15 syns every day. as I lose weight, I'll probably reduce them.

SharkSkinThing · 10/06/2017 08:28

Hello art - great loss, amazing!

Yes, I use my HE's - normally it's 30g cheese and a tablespoon of sunflower seeds on my yogurt.

This is my first week, and I used my syns last night on wine - a bottle is 26 syns, and I had 1.5 bottles. So that's me done for another week on drinking and syns!

:)

Artofnoise1 · 10/06/2017 08:37

Do people split their HE's? For instance yesterday I used half allowance of almond milk and then half of cheese, later on with dinner.

I've also done the same with the b choice. Yesterday, I had one Aldi benefit bar, and 2 crispbreads instead of four.
Is this ok?

Artofnoise1 · 10/06/2017 08:46

Thanks margot and sharkI have 3.5 stone to lose. Hoping to get a stone off before our holiday in July.

Hope you enjoyed your wine sharkSmile I have a night out on Thursday, - something that' s been planned for ages. I will make sensible choices where possible, but i will have a couple of glasses of wine.

Bad timing really, as i weigh on Friday morning, but hey ho. Hopefully, one meal is not going to affect weight loss.

Good luck all. I really want to smash this..

Mulch · 10/06/2017 08:57

Stuck to the walk and exercise but went really over on cheat meal and feel sick gross and bloated. Had a kitkat chunky, snack bar, half a family bag of sweet and salty popcorn, cheesy chicken and wings. Necked two litres of water. Think my body isn't used to that kind of food after eating so clean.

Todays a new day and all

1.5hr fasted power walk

Breakfast strawberries, pineapple, egg whites

Lunch chicken and mahoosive veg stir fry

Dinner left over chicken stir fry

Snacks oranges cottage cheese sliced ham

Groovee · 10/06/2017 14:39

I sometimes split my HE's. 40g of porridge is too much for me, so I may have 20g then have a hifi bar or a slice of bread. Other times I have 1 slice of cheese on maybe a burger or 20g bar of cathedral city in an Omelette then have 125ml of milk in a cuppa. It's getting the balance right.

00alwaysbusymum · 10/06/2017 16:38

I often don't use my HE. If we have spag Bol I may have cheese and sometimes have bread, but usually find I lose more if I don't eat any.....

Today been good
Stressful day running around
So had coffee for breakfast and a nectarine
Lunch chicken egg salad
Snacks apples
Not sure year but will def be syn free !

I love SlimmingWorld and find once you lose the weight it wasn't too hard maintaining if I stuck to it most days and then had a day off during the weekend. But I find socialising really really hard, as you can't control the syns. My friends invited us to Sunday dinner tomorrow, and I feel so panicky at the amount of syns Confused. I've been so good all week I hate that it might all go out the window in one meal. Bless my friend she's even making me my favourite Cauliflower cheese and apple pie and cream !!😖

I need my carbs TBH. Not a chance i Would stick to any diet where I couldn't eat carbs.
I'd rather lose more slowly and still have my bread and pasta.Smile

SharkSkinThing · 10/06/2017 20:37

Art, I'd say that whatever you are doing is clearly working, so keep doing it! Can you weigh a day earlier this week or are you at a group? Don't worry what happens, think of the bigger picture regarding how much you have lost.

I feel for you always. We visited family today and I knew they were planning take away fish and chips (dread to think of the syns there). I brought my salad with me and just braved it out, said I was on a diet and left it at that. Quite proud of myself for that as I'm a bit of a people pleaser, and would have eaten the take away out of politeness!

I'm sure if you have a quiet word with your lovely sounding friend she will understand. There is plenty of time for apple pie in the future! Let us know how it goes, hand holding available!

I managed 15,000 steps today. Think 20,000 would take some serious dedication!

Catch you in the morn, hope everyone else doing OK today. 🍎

SharkSkinThing · 11/06/2017 07:46

Sorry posted before I finished writing!

Sorry to hear about your early wake up and lack of sleep Shark my full sympathies Flowers

That eat everything on Sunday as I'm starting on Monday was def my problem too in the past. So really good your just back on track straight away, and even better to see a change in your measurements!

I bought some shorts last year which I want to get into so they are going to be my weekly measure of success Smilelast time I couldn't do the button up. But I bought them when I was about 11st 5 so about a 1 stone lighter !!

Cut yourself some slack, Mulch, these things happen. As always said, great to be on track the next day. I too would turn one bad day into two weeks!

Hope the meal is great, always. Good thinking to not drink. And an item of clothing you are trying on each week is brilliant.

Only managed 7,000 steps today, but had a full on hour in the lido with three 7 year olds, lifting them on and off a giant inflatable. If I get a second wind after dinner I may nip out for a quick walk.

00alwaysbusymum · 12/06/2017 07:35

Hi, Can I join please!

I need to get motivation back, lost around 30lbs with SW from November to around April this year but have fallen off the wagon so to speak and all old habits are back.

I start again most Mondays, by Tuesday evening I'm beginning to slip! I've put half a stone back on, needs to stop. I'm 12st 5lb, my target was 11 st, and I'd like to reignite the SW fires and start seeing the scales go the right way!

Have a good Monday everyone! x

Groovee · 12/06/2017 07:59

Great loss @00alwaysbusymum!

@justabowlofsteamformeplease go back to basics and plan plan plan x

Mulch · 12/06/2017 08:45

That's great Always, getting results always motivates me to keep going. I'm good during week but need to be more tactical when it comes to weekend treats

SharkSkinThing · 12/06/2017 09:08

always that is amazing - well done! You must be thrilled. You are so inspirational! And goes to show you can have an unplanned meal and still be ok. Congratulations!

Welcome, steam.

I managed to get my steps up to 10,000 yesterday by dancing around the living room with DS. The things we do...

Today:

BF: Quark with banana and tbl sunflower seeds (HEXB)
LU: Dahl with lots of veggies
DI: Tofu curry and rice

Snacks: Strawberries and muller. HEXA will be 30g cheese.

Exercise will be 15,000 steps, plus I have 90 mins of yoga tonight.

Happy Monday everyone else.

Weigh in for me tomorrow.

justabowlofsteamformeplease · 12/06/2017 10:37

Thanks Shark, Griove, you're so right. Been on bike this morning, fit bit says 50 mins and a little over 400 cals, felt like should have been 1500 for effort 😂. Branflakes and fruit breakfast, going to keep busy today and keep away from biscuit barrel. I'm ok when I'm in work but when I'm home in the evening the will power goes out the window!.

SharkSkinThing · 12/06/2017 11:20

Some bastard kind soul has left a delivery of freshly baked bread AND rolls AND chocolates in the staff kitchen.

I have had to eat my lunch now to stop me rampaging.

00alwaysbusymum · 12/06/2017 12:47

Welcome steam, we've got the same target so let's do this ! I was 15 stone in Nov 2015 and did get to 11 stone by may 2016 and maintained until October when we went on holiday for 2 weeks followed by winter and Christmas and too much bread / chocolate/ biscuits. Determined to get back to at least 11.5 by July and ideally 11 and then will try and get to 10 by xmas!

You already know it works so just keep restarting and go back to basics !
