Today I'm restarting slimming world, been doing it on line and would love a buddy or support.

Weighed this morning at 12st 7.5lbs and really want to be back to 11 stone in time for school holidays partly to get back into my summer clothes !

Struggling with motivation and can't exercise as hurt my leg 😥

Anyone want to join in x
Hoping my target is doable x

Way to go Twinkle! Enjoy your success and your days off!

Blimey it's hot. I was at a local conference today and knew that lunch was provided. I took some fruit and ham hoping I could add it to some salad, but it was just wraps and bread rolls. Tried to make the best choice....but I'm trying not to loose the plot. You can't control every single thing, every single day!

I'm swimming tomorrow so will add a bit extra.

Well done always ! Maybe get those heck sausages on the barbie!

😀

Mulch · 17/06/2017 22:41

Had a few treats today but not gone on a crazy binge and felt like chuck it all in the fuck bucket pass me the ice scream. Actually had a bit of self control which felt good.

Morning Porridge, peanut butter and honey, mango.

Lunch grilled chicken, aldi paleo bars x2, carrot cake

Dinner steak, grilled veg

Got a christening followed by a meal, plan to thoroughly enjoy myself without eating to the point of feeling guilty and ashamed

SharkSkinThing · 18/06/2017 06:34

Mulch well done on resisting temptation! And enjoy what sounds like a lovely day today.

I am making Cornish pasties and a carrot cake for DP for Father's Day but will be OK resisting both of those. Today will be:

BF: Eggs and bacon
LU: Ham salad
DI: Vegies, Dahl and rice

Usual snacks and HEX's.

Taking DS to lido this morn, then I'll swim tonight.

Happy Sunday everyone.

Artofnoise1 · 18/06/2017 08:50

Lost 1.5 lb when I weighed in Friday. Total of 4.5 in two weeks. Happy with that as had a night out with wine.

Completely off plan last night as went to .zizzis and had a pizza and shared a dessert with DH. Also had a couple of picky bits during the day.

Back on it today.

Hoping for a 1.5 again next Friday.

We are going away for the weekend then. Eeek..
Will make sensible choices when I can but would be happy to maintain.

Well done to everyone. Keep going.

Yukbuck · 18/06/2017 11:16

Hi, sorry to jump on this thread and hope it's okay! I'm just about to start slimming world. Going to start online but am hoping to go to a meeting too but want someone on board to come with me because I hate going to new places on my own! It's silly really. I tried weight watchers a while ago and it was good but I felt like I wasn't always eating the best as it was all based on points. I feel with slimming world that it teaches you more about healthy eating.
I have a question though ... I think it was shark who cooked a veggie Dahl lots?! I wondered if you could share your recipe please? As Google brought up loads. Also is it freezable?! It sounds delicious and would love to make one tonight! Thanks in advance. And hoping to get on board if it isn't too late!

twinkle183 · 18/06/2017 12:15

Afternoon everyone....

Welcome Yukbuck! It's never too late!

Well done on resisting temptation i know how hard it can be....! Having a good day so far and looking forward to weigh-in in on tuesday... I usually dread it. Hmm

Had couscous chicken last night with sweet potato fries and that was lovely!!! I forgot how nice it was..... thinking of doing lasagne or something today.... or maybe even risotto.... Hmm the choices....!

I wouldn't worry about having a day off.. just make sure you jump straight back on and don't feel guilty for enjoying yourself! And just try and make sensible choices... if you can't cos of a dictated meal then just enjoy it!!!

Lots of washing and house work to do today - oh the joys!!!!! x

Have a good day ladies!!!

Yukbuck · 18/06/2017 12:17

Thanks twinkle!! I have just started a thread on this board to see if anyone is wanting to start this week but actually I might be better sticking here.... maybe if I get any responses I will send them here! This thread seems great. I read a few pages late last night and that's basically what gave me the kick start.

I think I will start tomorrow as I still need to go shopping and am travelling today.
But I weigh 11 stone 2 1/2 as of today!

Good luck all :)

SharkSkinThing · 18/06/2017 20:15

Sounds like a sensible approach, art. As twinkle has wisely said, be sensible and stick to the plan for the main part. This is a long term thing, after all.

Hello Yuk, the more the merrier! I love dahl, and could eat it forever. I use this recipe:

www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/tarkadal_90055

and adapt it by using Frylight not oil, and I also use those lazy jars of chili/garlic/ginger as life is too short to peel ginger (meaning I am too hungry).

I also chuck in whatever veg I have - cauliflower works well, as does spinach. If it's a bit wet then I cook some rice and then stir it all in, and leave overnight to really let all the flavours mingle. It freezes beautifully, too.

Hope everyone is keeping cool. I swam twice, once at the lido with DS and then again in the sea, though both times more bobbing than swimming!

Only managed 10,500 steps as man, it's hot. I did avoid ice creams at the pool AND temptation when we went for a coffee afterwards. And the carrot cake I made for DP for Father's Day. Honestly...I had better be at target on Tuesday!

SharkSkinThing · 19/06/2017 05:44

Morning all, good luck to those weighing today.

BF: Fruit and yoghurt
LU: Veggie Dahl
DI: Ham omelette and salad

Will aim for 13,000 steps and have 90 mins yoga class which I will cycle to.

It's already hot.....😵

Yukbuck · 19/06/2017 06:53

Thanks for the recipe shark

So I signed up to the website yesterday. It's so addictive! I stayed up until midnight searching the website. I'm still getting my head around it all!

I may have to half start today as still haven't been food shopping. But will try to make good choices today and will look up stuff as much as I can.

I got a fair few people wanting to join my other thread to start this week so will probably use that one more but I do love this thread and you lot inspired me. So I will keep popping back on here too :)
Good luck all!

00alwaysbusymum · 19/06/2017 07:40

Morning everyone

Well today was weigh in .... and I lost 2.5lbs a total of 6lbs.

I have to confess we had a BBQ last night and although I ate less than I normally do and I ate no bread, I did have a couple of sausages and a pork belly and possibly 2 eton messes, but no alcohol!

But I'm taking the attitude I would rather enjoy 1 meal a week and be good the rest of the week if it means losing a little less. At least it makes it more doable.

Did everyone else have a good weekend ?

So breakfast today is a yogurt and banana
Lunch chicken salad & fruit
Dinner: left over tandoori chicken & rice & salad

Hope you all have a good day. Thanks for your support x

I turned down cake twice 😂

twinkle183 · 19/06/2017 09:17

Morning ladies.... Smile

00alwaysbusymum well done on your weight loss thats brilliant!!!
Grovee well done on resisting cake... fabulous...

So have woken in an awful mood this morning and am completely lacking in motivation - but I think that is because I am tired. I am gonna have some breakfast and see if i can shake it and then head to the gym for midday! Sometimes a good old sauna works......

For breakfast is banana - Alpen (hxb) and a cup of tea!!!
Not sure for lunch but dinner is gonna be beef chow mein! Yum yum....

Have a good day ladies - hoping the weather starts to brighten up. Wink

Groovee · 19/06/2017 09:56

I'm making burger in a bowl for dinner, but no ideas for lunch. Want to use a HEB if possible!

SharkSkinThing · 19/06/2017 11:02

Laughs at possibly two Etom messes! Brilliant loss, well done!

Sounds like we have all done the best we could with what was on the table this weekend, so we all deserve a big cheer.

Don't despair, Twinkle, you can keep on this. And even if you do have a small wobble due to tiredness, then that's life. Just don't implode and sabotage too much, but I know how hard it can be when tiredness takes over. Be kind to yourself.

Weigh in for me tomorrow, but time of the month and feel quite bloated. We'll see.

twinkle183 · 19/06/2017 17:58

Thanks for the support ladies.... Managed to sort myself out...! Its amazing how a little reflective time can make you refocus on the job in hand!!

Has anyone else discovered Quark!! Omg.... I had some this morning with a little sprinkle of sweetener and strawberries and it was a taste sensation! I have an awful sweet tooth and have been looking for low syn sweet stuff.... Wink Smile Sometimes a diet coke just doesn't cut it!!

Hope everyone is having a good day!....

Groovee · 19/06/2017 18:56

I love quark!

SharkSkinThing · 19/06/2017 22:02

Another vote for Quark here! I like it with bananas and strawberries and a tablespoon of sunflower seeds. Also good stirred into risotto and through pasta. Or with as teaspoon of marmite!

SharkSkinThing · 20/06/2017 06:22

Morning all.

2 off for me this week, so making steady progress.

Today's plan:

BF: Cottage cheese and crudites
LU: Potato salad
DI: Chicken and tofu stir fry with noodles

Usual HEX's and snacks.

Tuesday is my day off so need to water the allotment, swim and aim for 15,000 steps. Once DS asleep tonight will sea swim too.

Going to be incredibly hot, though!

Happy Tuesday all.

00alwaysbusymum · 20/06/2017 07:41

Fantastic shark! Your day sounds nice, better than be stuck in the office like me Confused

It was so so hot yesterday in the office. My daughter went to bed at 7.45, but finally fell asleep at 9 ! Woke up again as 12, & 1 and 4am at 4.30 I ended up going to sleep in her toddler bed. So feeling hot and shattered and annoyed I don't fit into my summer clothes !
Today's plan
Breakfast: yogurt & strawberries
Lunch chicken salad, & fruit salad
Dinner cold roast beef & vege & salad

OP posts:
SharkSkinThing · 20/06/2017 08:06

Oh always. 💐💐💐💐 for you. DS firmly on the 4.30am wake up at the moment and it's hell. I really, really sympathise with you.

I put some of those lunch box ice packs in a pillow case and laid them along DS's bed half an hour before bedtime, just to help cool it down a little. We can't leave the windows open cos the seagulls are so bloody loud.

Fingers crossed you have a better night. Lots of coffee today and cold, cold yoghurt!

twinkle183 · 20/06/2017 09:10

Morning all!!!

So 5lbs off for my first week... am so chuffed!!!! I know that will go down to either 1 or 2lbs a week and i am happy with that.

Just a banana Halo for my breakfast... another beautiful day and like you 00alwaysbusymum NONE of my summer clothes fit.... so if it gets too hot i am just gonna sit my pants in the garden Wink

So sure what I am gonna have for the rest of the day... oh and exercise is out as my stupid dog... pulled me down a curb and i have now hurt my hip my i sound like an old lady

Well done on the losses... keep going ladies we can do this.....
