We are all hiding in here, away from the hot cross buns and Easter eggs.

Welcome all, old and new.

Well done on the loss and the assessment em.

First night out tonight with dh since baby was born! I will be drinking wine and having whatever I fancy off the menu. A couple of months ago I couldn't get any of my nice dresses on. Suddenly tonight I have a choice! Put on one of my favourites from summer 2015, delighted that it fits!

So nice to see the difference that 9.5lb had made!

maygirl · 14/04/2017 20:04

Have a lovely night out Owl

Nice to hear things are more stable, Maygirl

Groove that looks bloody gorgeous. I need to get out of my food rut and cook some different things.

LavenderRains · 14/04/2017 21:35

Good news may hopes she's soon home.

owlina sounds lovely. I love it when old clothes fit! Enjoy your night.

I'm surrounded by bloody food! Got a huge apple pie (thanks mum!) & a ton of hot x buns in the kitchen. I had one bun today and was feeling hungry earlier so I had some ham, gherkins and grapes.Halo
Could have eaten all the buns tho!!

Big buffet on Sunday, I'm eating whatever I want thenGrin

Can I join in please? I've been lurking on a few of these threads, or rather I recently found one from last year and just kept clicking the "next thread" until I ended up at the end of this one. Reading them gave me the encouragement to join up to a group, so I felt the least I could do was delurk.
Starting weight of 14st4.5. I would like to say it was due to pregnancy etc (son is five months old), but the reality is that I took "eat what you like breastfeeding" a teeny weeny bit too literally, especially as what I like is chocolate in stupendous quantities. Also very large takeaway pizza. And curries. And buttery toast. You get the picture. Anyhoo...my starting weight is therefore heavier than when I was 42 weeks pregnant.Blush
I had my first weigh in last week, and today I've lost 4.5lbs. I have a final target of 9 1/2 stone, which I don't think I've weighed since I was 17, but my first target is to get below 13 stone so I have a hope in hell of fitting into my work trousers for my return to work mid June.
Hoping to shave 2 1/2lbs off between today and next week so I can get my first half stone sticker.
This thread has had one unfortunate downside. All the talk of hot cross buns had me add them to my tesco shop. They're for my in-laws who will be visiting on Sunday, honest

calzone · 14/04/2017 23:03

Still bleeding heavily so not expecting any loss on Monday.
Not really sure what to do.

OwlinaTree · 14/04/2017 23:13

Thanks for all your kind messages. We are indeed having a fab evening, I am deffo reasonably drunk!

OwlinaTree · 14/04/2017 23:14

calzone do you have a coil?

BasinHaircut · 14/04/2017 23:46

notlost welcome!

I was also out for dinner tonight. Had one Corona and then steak, sweet potato fries and onion rings for dinner. No starter or dessert. So not on plan but not hideous.

Going to be on plan tomorrow and then see what happens on Sunday - roast dinner at the parents - no chocolate though, I've already decided that. Might go to a dessert parlour on Monday so I'm going to save myself for that sweet-wise.

OwlinaTree · 15/04/2017 01:11

Most awesome night out with dh! Mucho wine!

OrianaBanana · 15/04/2017 08:41

Welcome notlost! I have a four month old but to be honest a lot of the weight went on after DS was born (5 years ago) - in the same way you describe! I lost 1.5 stone eventually (I started when he was 4) then got pregnant again. So here I am again! I'm aiming for 10 initially but then maybe 9.5 as it's in the middle of my 'normal' BMI. Can't ever remember being that weight though, my lowest memorable weight was 10lb 4 (when I thought I was fat).

Sorry calzone, have you been seen by anyone?

Brilliant willpower by people on this thread, and even food optimising when out for meals! WineHalo

Groovee · 15/04/2017 10:17

DH has bought me a tool so he can have dippy fried eggs 😂

Notlostjustexploring · 15/04/2017 10:29

Oriana Yes! If I could go back in time to my 10 stone, 20 year old self who thought she was fat, I would give her a good shake and tell her to wear shorter skirts!

Groovee · 15/04/2017 10:53

Lol Not I would say the same!

Trying scan bran choc cake.

TheLegendOfBeans · 15/04/2017 16:25

Hello! Just sticking my head in here.

Started SW on Thursday; am 13 weeks pregnant and never lost the baby weight from DD so I didn't want to gain 4st over two children!

I've read NotLosts post above and that's the exact same story as me. Even down to the foods consumed mmmm curry-

Two questions;

  1. I drink plenty water but am getting big fat headaches. Sugar withdrawal? It can't be caffeine...
  1. Tomorrow is Easter; literally how am I going to cope with so much choccy in the house?! I know I've got 15 syns in a day but ohhhhhhh, chocolate eggs.... 😍
LavenderRains · 15/04/2017 16:43

Welcome legend there are some very brave people here starting just before easterGrin
I can't help with the chocolate question! Tomorrow I'm having a day off plan and going to enjoy a nice buffet and a bit of chocolate. Will probably stick to curly wurly (6 syns) or mini eggs (1 syn each) but am going to enjoy some cheese and wine!

With regards to headaches, I had awful ones for a couple of weeks when I started. I put it down to sugar withdrawal.
Good luckFlowers

Missushb · 15/04/2017 17:08

Right, I joined online last night. Really need to sort myself out, had a little girl 11 weeks ago, have lost a bit watching myself, now really need to get focussed. I have the books from going before, and online seems to be good for motivation and checking syns etc, my mum has lost a stone so far with sw classes and my aunts going too so lots of sw chat!

OrianaBanana · 15/04/2017 17:53

You could try portioning your egg into manageable portions syn-wise and freezing them? This is my intention although I fully expect I will just eat it all tomorrow in the end (that's probably the problem).

Groovee · 15/04/2017 18:16

Welcome to everyone who has joined us.

FizzySmile · 15/04/2017 18:35

Was dreading my WI this morning as this is the first week I've had several meals out. Tried to stick to SW-friendly choices as far as possible, but as there was alcohol involved, some delicious cocktails in fact, I was resigned to either maintaining or gaining slightly. I had been on plan the remainder of the week but still...

So, very relieved to have lost 2lbs!! Yay!
Proving that you can have a wee splurge every now and then, and still lose if on track for most week.
So impressed with Slimming World, love it!

Well done to all you other Losers, and welcome newcomers! If I can do it, you can do it ! 👍

ALemonyPea · 15/04/2017 19:32

Welcome newbies, and well done Fizzy.

Ive been to York today, went to lots of clothes places, tried on but didn't buy anything as it is all too short. Where sells nice long lined tops?

I ate well, didn't eat off plan, then got home and ate almost a whole loaf of cheese and marmite bread I'd bought there Blush. I'm going to pay for it later, not had bread in months and it doesn't always agree with me. I'm so pathetic, zero will power when it comes to my favourite foods. So glad I'm not a huge chocolate lover.

leopard101x · 15/04/2017 20:11

Hi all, I joined slimming world last week, if I'd have realised it was Easter and I wouldn't be able to have chocolate in copious amounts I probably would have waited a week!

I also have a baby who's 10 weeks old so trying to shift the baby weight and a bit extra.

My group leader said a good thing to do with any Easter eggs you get is to weight it into set amounts that you can sin for, melt it down and coat strawberrys and other fruit with it.

X

BasinHaircut · 16/04/2017 09:15

Morning all, how are we coping with Easter?

Had a nibble on DS'se Easter egg this morning but I'm not having any more.

Had a bacon sandwich on wholemeal bread, wasn't syn free bacon but avoided the sausages and white bread so I'm counting that as food optimising!

Yesterday was on plan apart from a few buffet items at a kids party. This weekend was always going to be tough, all 4 days of it, but I'm doing what I can.

Seeing as I lost 2lbs and got my club 10 this week I'm just trying not to gain. Weighing in on Thursday again instead of tomorrow for this week and next to try and counter the days I know I'll be naughty.

I've also decided to change by target so I'm only 1.5lbs off, with my original target now being the lower end of my target range. I'm not sure I need to lose the extra 3lbs and since we are TTC I want to get to target before I'm pregnant so I don't have to pay Blush plus it doesn't really make any difference if my target is a few pounds higher as I'm going to gain weight back anyway if (fingers crossed) we manage to conceive.
