We are all hiding in here, away from the hot cross buns and Easter eggs.

Welcome all, old and new.

@ALemonyPea it was amazing. Actually not hurting too bad today at all. I still feel on a high!

@Anewleaf so sorry about your dad. Go easy on yourself. If you can manage, try planning your meals and getting just those things in with some prechopped fruit etc to make things less stressful for you xxx

loveslipstick · 12/04/2017 10:49

Hello! 👋🏻

I've not posted much as have been manic busy with work and ill kids 😷 however an update.....

I have hit my 10% 🙌🏻🙌🏻 and also have hit 2.5 stone loss while I have been gone too.
Still such a long way to go....I am 11 weeks in and still have a BMI above 40 😱😱🙈😭 but I am pleased with the progress I have made so far and how easy it has actually been when I think about it!

I've stopped recording what I eat now because I rarely use syns in the week and then at the weekend I make good choices but do allow myself things I am stricter with during the week and it seems to be working for me. If I find it slowing down I will start tracking again but in general I am making better choices e.g If I go out for a curry I will have a biryiani or tikka and boiled rice rather than something like pasanda, I avoid sparkling wine and stick to vodka with diet coke as it's lower and if I do eat out it's starter OR dessert not both.

How is everyone?!

Groovester · 12/04/2017 11:23

Tinks It's understandable that you're struggling just now after the stress and upset of losing your dad. From personal experience I think you just have to be kind to yourself. You've done amazingly well to get where you are already. Perhaps some of the ready meals might help you (I've not tried any of them mind) or even pre-cut fruit and veg to make cooking/snacking easier. But hey, at the end of the day if all you fancy is toast then eat the toast. Flowers

Groovester · 12/04/2017 11:25

And hi lipstick - congratulations on your progress. I had a high BMI too. Was overjoyed when I moved from being morbidly obese to just obese. Grin We will both get there!

Groovee · 12/04/2017 11:34

Well done @loveslipstick

FaithAgain · 12/04/2017 11:36

Welcome anewleaf, that's a great start!

lipstick it's tough but look what you've accomplished already! Have a look at what a difference the 10% makes to your health and then congratulate yourself on making that difference in 11 weeks!

Tinks be kind to yourself Flowers

loveslipstick · 12/04/2017 11:41

Haha @Groovester I didn't think of that but yes once I get below 40 bmi and am no longer morbidly obese that will be my next celebration 🎉

@Tinks reading back, sorry to hear about the loss of your father, I know how hard it is to just think "fuck it" when you are grieving because nothing else matters.

Anewleaf · 12/04/2017 12:57

HI TinksFlowers Sorry to hear about what you're going through. Do you SW by yourself?

Thanks faithagain I feel great!
My club is full of such lovely people to chat to. I don't tend to get out as much as I like with a newborn so SW is MY time
I'm keeping my syns mainly for a couple high bars at night at the moment.

I got a leaflet about extra healthy extras due to breast feeding but I'm combination feeding so not entirely sure if it applies to me..
What has everyone lost and how long have you been at it?
loveslipstick that sounds amazing. I have a really high bmi too and a picture of me eating chocolate cake was the turning point.
I'm tall 6'1 and I've always been tall so just ate what I wanted but after 2 kids I realised I was just tired all the time, no energy and made the leap.
Have had a full English brunch( porridge never keeps me going) sw style and a veg stew with rice and chicken for later. Will try to get a short walk in somewhere too.

What sorts of exercise are people doing? xx

loveslipstick · 12/04/2017 13:15

I do hardly any exercise 🙈 but I do alway use the stairs at work and not the lift and I also take my son out on his bike most evenings for a walk - all things I didn't do before. My iphone says I done about 1500 steps a day before and now I do about 8000 most days (at work I don't have it on me so it is under as it doesn't include any general walking around I do the rest of the time)

SideOrderofSprouts · 12/04/2017 13:52

Lunch today is a hodgepodge. Carrot sticks for snacking and a he b roll with ham, egg fried in fry light and cooked mushroom. I have to say it was amazing

BasinHaircut · 12/04/2017 14:02

tink just do what you can for now. Flowers sorry about your dad.

loves sounds like you have it sorted! You are in the right frame of mind acknowledging that you might have to get stricter as time goes on but for now doing what works is all good as you are less likely to give up if you don't feel totally restricted.

I flit between exercise types at the moment. I did run but stopped in Jan due to injury, I like the gym classes but the don't fit in at this point in my life. I did a boot camp thing last week which was ok but isn't on this week (and I seem to have picked up a hip strain or something so can't do anything right now) and I've also got copies of some Joe Wickes stuff which I tried on Saturday and I think is the main contender for the summer as it's simple, I've got all the kit at home and they only take about 30 mins.

Am working from home today which is usually tricky as I get bored and snack, but I've been so busy this morning that I've only just had lunch! Usually I eat at 12:01!

Food plan today is:
B: weetabix and milk
Sn: strawberries, coffee and sugar (2syns)
L: leftover veg curry, rice and cauliflower (3syns for curry sauce)
D: salmon, roasted sweet potatoes and veg with hot sauce (1syn), probably some mayo which I will need to syn.
Might have another coffee now (2syns).

ALemonyPea · 12/04/2017 14:38

Welcome newbies

Tink, don't be so hard on yourself, take a few days/weeks to get your had in the right place, and forget about the diet. You can do it, you know you can, so get back on it a meal at a time when you're ready.

Been swimming with the DC today, my first exercise I. Weeks, and my legs are aching. I'm starving now, could easily eat a McDonald's burger.

I joined in October and have lost 4 stone 2lb I don't do any structured exercise but do walk more now. I certainly feel better and still want to lose another stone.

Groovee · 12/04/2017 20:23

Well done @Ledehe

@Anewleaf last June I was told to get down from a BMI off 44 to as close to 35. Started myself and had lost 10lb but joined SW in January and in 14 weeks have lost 1st 13.5lb. Going for the 2 stone award next week.

Wee NSV for me! Just bought a size 12 top for my holiday.

whereareyousleep · 12/04/2017 20:44

My starting BMI was 38.7 I'm on week 13 and have lost 1 stone 8 1/2 pounds so far BMI dropped under 35 this week so although still some way to go I'm happy. My aim is for BMI to be under 30 by year end (hopefully under 25) ready for more fertility treatment next year.

Been totally off plan all day today as been out for day. Back on it tomorrow that's the first day off I've had since I started still feel guilty though.

LavenderRains · 12/04/2017 20:56

For anyone who likes coffee I can recommend the new mocha hifi bars. Very yummySmile

ALemonyPea · 12/04/2017 20:57

Welcome newbies.

I started as morbidly obese this time last year, my BMI is now 27.5. Stick with it, you can do it, take the rough with the smooth, one meal at a time.

Hi Newbies, looks like you've all had great starts!
Burlesque sounds fun Groovee! I do Bellydance and it's amazing how much more comfortable I feel in my own skin. All the ladies are so accepting and even celebratory about us all coming in different shapes and sizes, young and old! Exercise wise I also do a mix of gym classes, zumba and running.

Sorry about your Dad TinkFlowers . I'd agree with just doing what you can at the moment, and buying easy no prep options. If friends ask if they can do anything to help maybe ask for a healthy meal to be dropped off.

Today's food
B eggs and beans with dry fried courgette.
Grapes + coffee 1 syn
L avocado 4 syns, salad, halloumi heA, avocado oil 2 syns, slice roast pork

Yogurt and heB nuts, choc shot 0.5 syn

D Tuna steak, stirfried pepper, onion, courgette, green beans, oyster sauce
Biscuit 2 syns, coffee 1 syn

calzone · 12/04/2017 22:20

Hit me with food planning please.

What's on your menus?

I'm now on Day 23 of HEAVY BLEEDING so feeling mightily fed up and this can be the only reason I'm not losing weight.
Ringing the clinic tomorrow.

Trying to get the fridge and freezer empty so I can restock next week.

Groovee · 12/04/2017 22:23

@maygirl I would love to try belly dancing.

@calzone I hear you. I was put on the mini pill and bled from early January to end of March. And they wonder why I have no iron! Go and get seen to be on the safe side. X
