We are all hiding in here, away from the hot cross buns and Easter eggs.

Welcome all, old and new.

Morning all! Weigh in tonight for me. Not feeling very positive about it tbh. Need 1.5lb off for my next award but I don't think I've done it this week.

On a positive note I did 6 minutes non stop with the Hula hoop yesterday!

OwlinaTree · 30/05/2017 06:53

groovee wee into a big tupperware, you can pour a bit in the pot. Make sure you keep the tupperware separate!

BasinHaircut · 30/05/2017 08:13

em that's such good news! Keeping everything crossed for you.

I've also not really found the muller/mug shot push in my group. My consultant DOES love a hifi bar but I guess she makes money off of them so has to push them a bit.

I don't eat all of that type of stuff either. I did eventually give in to fry light (the butter one though, the sunflower one is disgusting) as I was spending all my syns on oil and butter, but you don't have to spend them on chocolate and wine and can use them to make your meals more interesting. My example is id never make a Syn free risotto, if I'm having one I'll use that days syns on butter, cheese and wine for making it taste amazing, rather than have a bland dinner and a Freddo bar afterwards.

The SW 'science' does work. It's a low fat diet. You have to use an ounce of common sense along with it though, just the same as anything, I.e. Don't eat your body weight in 'free' foods just because you can.

You can only try it though. It won't work for everyone. If you can't enjoy your food and feel full on it, then you won't stick to it.

Anyway, I'm back on it today after 3 days off. I will gloss over the fact I was supposed to be back on it yesterday. But I weighed myself this morning and I only appear to be a pound up on last week's weigh day weight so I've got till next Monday to sort that out. Had an absolutely lovely weekend though and don't regret it at all.

ALemonyPea · 30/05/2017 09:26

Good luck to those getting weighed today. I was going to take this week off due to having no childcare, but have it sorted now so getting weighed in a few hours. My scales showing no change, which is a bit meh, but hey ho, there's always next week.

Congratulations on the BFP Em I hope things go smoothly for you this time.

5lbs off for me this morning Grin finally got my 2 stone award, I think I would have got it last week if I had been able to weigh in but I'm chuffed to finally be there. I'm in a new stone bracket now too - seeing numbers I haven't seen for about 20ish years!

Good luck to everyone else weighing in today

LavenderRainbows · 30/05/2017 12:08

Well done dave Star
Good luck everyone else. I'm not weighing in this week as I am doing night shifts which cause havoc. I can literally wake up 5lb lighter than when I went to bedConfused

ALemonyPea · 30/05/2017 13:25

That's awesome, well done Dave.

1lb off for me, and SOW. 8 people at group today! 8! Shocking. Consultant was finished her talk within 15 mins, shortest group ever.

OP posts:
FoofFighter · 30/05/2017 14:31

8? where was everybody?!

Well done on losses Dave and Lemony, got mine tomorrow, I feel a lot slimmer around my tummy and my boobs, put my work trousers on this morning, not worn for a month since finished placement, then I had to breath in to get the done up, today I have room to pull out in front of me!

Hoping for a decent loss, need 2lb for my 1/2st award but hoping I've lost more than that, more as a buffer for this weekend's activities as we are away to Fort William. Planning on making decent choices for food when I am able, but intend of having wine on two nights :)

ALemonyPea · 30/05/2017 14:52

Day after a bank holiday, they all had holidays in or are going to a group later in the week. Sucks really as felt bad for the consultant taking time out to cover for our consultant.

Hola from lanzerote!
Em congratulations that's such lovely news everything crossed for a nice sticky one for you Flowers

Having probably the nicest holiday I've ever had. Kids are being fabulous, hotel and resort are so nice (even if it is full of very thin yummy mummies!) I've eaten and drank far to much but I'm having such a nice time I really don't care and will deal with it when I get back.

OwlinaTree · 30/05/2017 19:57

Well done dave and lemony. I sts this week, I'm alright about it as we had lots of cafe visits and I had my delicious Chinese takeaway on Friday, still don't regret it!

Class was hilarious, the leader asked this chap to do the raffle, well he made such a meal out of it, never seen the like! The raffle prize was a kettle bell and a skipping rope and a Hula hoop. She kept offering people a go on the Hula hoop with very few takers, then raffle man had a go of course, he was hopeless! Just so unintentionally funny to watch.

whereareyousleep · 30/05/2017 19:57

Well done @em I'm so pleased for you I'm sure everything will be fine this time.

Was only a handful at our group today too maybe 10. When I first started going in January there must have been at least 40. We have a new consultant too I don't stay to meetings but she did seem better than previous one so might start staying and see how it goes.

The mugshot and muller thing does my head in too not everybody has them but I think everybody thinks if your on slimming world that's all you eat, well that and sweeteners which I hate with a passion can't stand the taste would rather syn sugar. I like natural yoghurt with a swirl of lemon curd not syn free but very low and tastes lovely.

1.5lb off for me still 3lb off 2 stone been up and down for weeks but have started running so that has messed things up a bit.

ALemonyPea · 30/05/2017 20:01

Well done Where.

Have a lovely holiday Sham, holidays are meant to be enjoyed not about dieting. Do that when you get back.

Groovee · 30/05/2017 20:11

Well done losers. Only 4 and a new member at our group. One woman shouted at me as there were a lot of people weighing in and she didn't want charged! Was quite annoyed with her. Told the stand in consultant and am to point her out next week.

Anyway

A loss of 1.5lb this week led to a loss of 7lb for the month of May. 2st 9lb down altogether.

I am the weight I was on January the 17th in 2005 which was the date I joined SW then!

emwithme · 30/05/2017 21:07

Well done losers!

I don't get why people (who don't do SW) are so bloody focused on mugshots and muller light (although SW is VERY muller-focused itself). I have FF natural yoghurt rather than muller (because I can easily over-eat muller etc) and while we have mugshots in the cupboard they're probably about to go out of date! Must check that and put them in the SOTW basket Grin

We've had a new consultant since March (our consultant has switched to doing a Saturday group), she's absolutely fabulous and lovely but we've gone from 60-odd members weighing and 25 - 30 staying, to about 40 weighing and 15 - 20 staying, so the proportions are the same but the absolute numbers are lower. Groups always go into a low point in May - there's highs in January, just after Easter and at the start and end of the summer holidays. It's the same in every group, every year. and then there's people like me who you can't get rid of

I was SO annoyed at group last week, actually. We had the taster for Man of the Year (we don't actually have any regular men, but that's beside the point!) but only two of us took food - so there were meatballs and a mixed salad. I know it's difficult in a morning group to think of things for taster but, y'know, how difficult is it to pick up a pack of cherry tomatoes, or some grapes, or seafood sticks.

Groovee · 30/05/2017 21:38

That gets me too Em. Last week we had loads for taster which was great x

OwlinaTree · 30/05/2017 22:21

I know what you're saying em, but I feel like we are constantly having taster nights and I hate cooking!

PositiveAttitude · 30/05/2017 23:22

Can I just point out that we need a new thread?

Sorry, I don't want to be bossy, but I don't feel I am around enough to start the next one. (although am happy to if needed)

didireallysaythat · 31/05/2017 00:03

Relevant question maybe - how do you choose your group ? I'm doing it online and to be honest it's crap, the website isn't great, the app is useless and you don't get any of the books so I'm still not sure what I'm supposed to be eating. But my local group isn't for me. How do I choose one ?

ALemonyPea · 31/05/2017 03:32

New thread here

DidI, what don't you like about your local group? You could visit a few, or speak to different consultants to see who you like. You can get their numbers from SW website normally.

didireallysaythat · 31/05/2017 08:55

Local group is like a funeral wake. Never been but I've been picking up my kids for the room next door for the last 4 years.

Ashleytho1987 · 12/06/2017 17:16

Hi could someone give me ideas on what they eat please on sw? Also is alphro milk ok?
