We are all hiding in here, away from the hot cross buns and Easter eggs.

Welcome all, old and new.

Well done Basin! Sub-11 stone is my interim goal too, I've 11lbs to go though Confused

The recipe should be here www.slimmingworld.co.uk/recipes/beef-ragu-pasta-bake.aspx but it's just a basic ragu sauce mixed with pasta, with a HExA of mozzarella on top (yum) then baked Smile

OrianaBanana · 13/04/2017 20:22

12 lbs actually, I wasn't counting 11 stone 0! Blush

Groovester · 13/04/2017 20:25

#teamtwinnies lavender Grin

I weighed in this morning and have been a snack queen all day. Think I'm best suited to evening weigh n because I'm good all day and then have a wee treat afterwards.
Think I went a bit mad because I was so strict and restricted last week. Syns are important because they stop you feeling deprived. Lesson learned!

LavenderRains · 13/04/2017 20:27

Today's menu:
B: beans on toast with grated cheese (hexA&B)
D; yogurt and gherkins and grapes ( quick bite before shopping ) Grin
T; prawns, big bugger salad, slice of wholemeal (3 syns ) salad cream (1 syn)
Bowl of melon and blackberries.
Will have a curly wurly later (6 syns)

Trying to be "good" for a couple of days so I can have some easter goodies on Sunday.

FaithAgain · 13/04/2017 21:04

I've maintained but AF arrived this afternoon so I hope to see a bigger loss next week?!
Well done to the losers!

emwithme · 13/04/2017 22:28

Lost a lb, which I'm happy with and even happier when I found out I passed my last module assessment a couple of hours later so just 1.5 lbs to get back into target range.

Which won't be this week. Because bunnies and hot cross buns and Easter biscuits, and lunch out. And wine.

But that is life, and after Easter I will get back on it and lose the half stone that I want to and all will be well.

LavenderRains · 13/04/2017 22:43

Brilliant emwithme Star congratulations on the scales and the assessment!

calzone · 13/04/2017 23:32

Well done everyone.

B.....porridge with grated carrots, apples and Mullerlight

L....Cajun chicken with rice and aubergine

D....Ready meal of Bisto macaroni cheese and butternut squash
2.5 syns and wasn't at all bad.

maygirl · 13/04/2017 23:44

Well done losers and congrats Em!

Tough day today. DM rushed into hospital, been there hours, in A&E and then the ward. Its so horrible and scary seeing her so ill Sad.
Just got home and using all my will power as there are 2 ginormous pizzas in my kitchen. In my absence DH got takeaway for him and kids but ordered wrong, getting 3 party size. They only managed to eat 1.

But seeing DM struggling so terribly today with obesity related conditions today I'm holding back.
I so wish she had managed to lose weight. She'd been trying for as long as I can remember, used to ask me to stop her snacking when I was just a tiny girl Sad

We can do this ladies, and get to healthy weights! I've been reminded its not just about vanity but helping towards quality of life in the future.

B bns pancakes, quark, berries
L h/m SW chicken nuggets + salad 1syn
Banana
D m+s roast veg and avo sandwich grabbed at hospital. Counting heB for bread and 9 syns as was around 300 cals. Not at group at moment so no app.

HeA milk in coffee, but not whole amount

Damn that banana, could have been SP and eaten another heB now
Hope all have good Easters.

LavenderRains · 14/04/2017 08:50

Aah maygirl sorry about your mumFlowers I think you can cut yourself some slack at times like this. I don't know how you didn't demolish that pizza!

Happy Easter everyone!🐣🍇🍍 (🍫) Grin

Missushb · 14/04/2017 09:14

Hi all, I was thinking of joining online only, anyone doing it that way? Have a newborn baby don't think I have time to get out at a set day and time each week. But really need to do something weight loss wise!

Groovee · 14/04/2017 09:49

A few of my friends have joined online. If you can afford it, go for the package which gives the books x

isaulte · 14/04/2017 13:29

Hi Missushb - I am in my second week of being an online member (my work hours make it difficult to attend a meeting).

It took me a little while to navigate my way around the site and it did help to print out the PDF food lists (I went for silver membership so didn't get the books but will get the magazines).

I also read through lots of posts on this forum which has been invaluable!

It was a bit confusing to start with and I did wonder whether I would have been better off having it explained to me by a consultant but I am well away now. People here are very helpful.

isaulte · 14/04/2017 13:34

BTW I've just given DP and DS one of their Easter eggs each ... now going to sit on my hands upstairs as I may or may not be saving myself for Prosecco later Wink

OrianaBanana · 14/04/2017 13:36

I always thought a good start (or refresh) is to follow the 7 day meal plan in the magazine.

Missushb · 14/04/2017 13:49

See I do have the books from going previously. I'm thinking it's quite a lot of money as I have the books already, however I did quite like using the app before when I was a member.

BasinHaircut · 14/04/2017 13:57

FWIW I find the app and this thread the most helpful things. But I'm going to a group as once you are target you stop paying but still have access to the app, but online you have to keep paying I believe.

ALemonyPea · 14/04/2017 14:04

Happy fish shop Friday everyone. I have been a good girl and had salmon, SW chips, mushy peas and broccoli whilst everyone else had stuff from the Chippy.

My mam commented that she thinks I have body dismorphia as I can't seem to come off plan HmmI just told her I'm close to target so no need to just yet. I'll have a nice treat when I am at target.

Groove, I like making marmite and cheese muffins with scan bean, great with soup.

Well done on the loss Em and the assessment. Flowers

FlowersMay. Hope she is well soon.

Miss, if you can manage it, at least go to the first meeting for the books and the newbie talk as tell help you understand the diet better than reading it online.

Scan Bran as a prize??? That would have tested my ability to be gracious!
Sorry to hear some of you are having tough times. As DS1 would say life's a bummer sometimes.
Have escaped to the caravan. I don't mind cooking but I do get fed up of having to come up with ideas for meals so this morning planned meals for today through to Monday evening. Armed with the list, I've been shopping so I have no excuse not to follow the plan. I reckon I also saved quite a lot of money because I wasn't buying random ingredients that I may or may not use.
I love hot cross buns so haven't had any in the house so I can't scoff them. Have bought a pack of 4 today to eek out over the weekend.

Groovee · 14/04/2017 14:34

Yeah I was a bit ungracious! But I'll tell you. As dire as the carrot cake was. It worked. I feel so much better haha.

BasinHaircut · 14/04/2017 15:19

late I meal plan for a week at a time and do online shopping so I can't be tempted. I might order a mix of veggies and mix and match through the week with meals but usually decide in advance so I only buy what we need. Anything that's looking like it will be unused forms the basis of next week's meals. I hate good waste and can get quite obsessed with making sure everything is used!

may I think you are right, got to look at it as something that will improve your whole health and life and not just so you can buy smaller clothes or feel good in a swim suit etc. Sorry about your mum though Flowers that is heartbreaking to know what a struggle it has been for her for so long x

OrianaBanana · 14/04/2017 17:06

OK I've frozen the remaining hot cross buns (though there aren't as many remaining as there should be Blush and I feel a bit Envy).

It just goes to show that I am an all or nothing person (= someone with rubbish willpower) and should not have such things in the house. Sad Or, instead of making 15, I should have bought four, given DS and DH one each, had one and frozen the other.

BasinHaircut · 14/04/2017 17:12

I got 8 hot x buns for a quid yesterday. DH and I had 2 each this morning for breakfast and the other 2 are in the freezer. I'm saving them for a hangover Grin I've got a hen do next weekend....

Groovester · 14/04/2017 19:07

may really sorry to hear about your mum. I hope things improve for her soon and well done for avoiding the pizza. I'm a bit rubbish under stress and would have caved for sure.
Creamy Cajun chicken pasta and baby spinach for dinner tonight. Really recommend it. Recipe below:

That looks lovely Groovster.

I bought hot cross buns on Tuesday, had one, then made my sister take the rest home as nobody else likes them and I can't be trusted with them in the house. Could easily wait the whole packet in one sitting.
