We are all hiding in here, away from the hot cross buns and Easter eggs.

Welcome all, old and new.

Well done minnie let us know if you need any help with it.

Hope it went well groovee.

Good day here, im being extra on plan this week in preparation for the bank holiday weekend. I've booked Monday as holiday so I can relax a bit but really don't want to gain again before my holiday.

Groovester · 25/05/2017 21:06

P.s. Lemony it's pork mince

Groovester · 25/05/2017 21:08

Fingers crossed that everything will go well Groovee

ALemonyPea · 25/05/2017 21:10

Looks really easy, will definitely try that.

Welcome Minnie, good luck 💐

Groovee, when is your op?

The beach is 500 metres down my road (seriously).

I walked on it last Friday afternoon. That was the first time this year, and will probably be the last time until July when I've got some foreign friends visiting and they want to see a "proper English seaside resort".

I maintained today which I'm happy about, right at the top of target range (but just about in it). Had a couple of totally off-plan lunches/drinks so maintaining was good.

Groovester · 26/05/2017 09:02

I'm guessing it's not just us who are having a barbecue later on?
Glorious weather. Have had to take a parental leave day from work as my childcare let me down last minute. Couldn't have happened on a better day! Grin

Groovee · 26/05/2017 09:21

We're having Seabass on the grill tonight. But it's just too hot!

ALemonyPea · 26/05/2017 11:02

We are having a BBQ tomorrow (so it'll probably rain) because DH doesn't finish work until 5 and needs to cut the grass. Having chicken and jacket potatoes though.

The weather is glorious here, and you know what, the almost 7 stone I've lost, I'm not feeling the heat as much as I would have previous years. It's lovely not being horribly hot.

Tried on some shorts today, they didn't have my size 😔Not because they were too small, but they were too big 😁Walked out of the shop smiling, but shortless.

BBQ on Sunday for us. Weather doesn't look as good as right now but might be a good thing so the kids can play in the garden without getting too hot,

ALemonyPea · 26/05/2017 12:04

Jealous of your closeness to the beach Em. I'd be there all the time. Love the beach.

Well done Lemony Grin

1lb off for me today. Minor victory in Costa where they didn't have my 7 syn bun so I struggled not to have something with a billionty syns and ended up with a 4 syn Biscotti Smile

Hate the heat! Trying to stay indoors with baby so as to avoid a) having to shave my legs and blind everyone with their reflective whiteness and b) having to slather on sun cream and get all hot, stressed, sticky and sweaty Confused

DementedO1 · 26/05/2017 14:32

Hi everyone, thought I I'd join you! Only started 2 days ago and at serious risk of turning into beans and eggs... Can anyone give me some idea for lunches please? I had value noodles with some speed veg but it was 1.5 syns and I tacky want to keep my syns for treats Wink read alcohol. Please please inspire me oh wise folk! Oh and any must have free foods I should stock up on? Currently got mullerlight but love having stuff I can grab quickly!

BasinHaircut · 26/05/2017 16:52

Welcome demented, I tend to have leftovers (dinner from night before) for lunches on week days. That way I don't have to think of anything or bother to prepare it as it's already done!

OrianaBanana · 26/05/2017 17:19

Hi demented

It's nice to have things like boiled eggs, chicken drumsticks, ham and seafood sticks in the fridge that you can grab.

You could also make up a batch of mini quiches to grab for lunch or to snack on during the day. Soup is a good lunch (though not in this heat) - homemade is best - or salad of course with cooked meats. Also you could try SW hummus or smoked salmon pate with crudités.

If you're not keen on making it, some mugshots are free, and some sushi is low syn. Smile

ALemonyPea · 26/05/2017 17:24

Welcome Demented. Having protein things in to snack on is good as will fill you up and stop more snacking. Quiche packed with speed, ham with cottage cheese (or pease pudding if you're in the NE), boiled eggs etc are all good. Don't rate mugshots or mullerlights I'm afraid. Danone Light and Free yoghurts though as delicious, I could eat a whole pack of 4 of those bad boys.

Oriana, what is the 7 syn Costa bun?

OP posts:
OrianaBanana · 26/05/2017 20:03

@Lemony it's their iced raspberry brioche bun - basically an iced finger roll. I always have one there as I'm incapable of buying a drink without a sweet treat it seems.

BasinHaircut · 26/05/2017 20:20

I was so close to ordering a takeaway just now as it's getting late and DH has only just taken DS up to bed. Couldn't be arsed to make dinner. BUT I've thawed a chilli and got some SW wedges in the oven and am going to have a nacho feast instead. Go me.

ALemonyPea · 26/05/2017 20:33

Oooo that sounds yummy, definitely only 7 syns though? I love cake and meet my friend often in Costa, but have so far only had fruit bloody salad.

Well done resisting the take away Basin. Enjoy your nachos.

I had M&S skinny garlic and herb chicken burgers for tea, half a syn each, they were yummy. Have some for the BBQ tomorrow as well.

ALemonyPea · 26/05/2017 20:34

Sorry, nacho feast, not nachos.

Glad I looked here! Forgot to have my HEBtoday x

FoofFighter · 26/05/2017 22:05

Hi all,

Got some whole mackerel out of the freezer for BBQ tomorrow, any ideas on how to jazz them up? I can only think of pesto

DementedO1 · 27/05/2017 01:53

Thanks for all the ideas! Just one quick question, does anyone save up at few days syns for the likes of a few drinks or a takeaway? Consultant says no but some in group do and still lose, I'm just not sure if it works or not. Won't be trying for a bit anyway until I get a few weeks under my belt but I am curious. Grin

OwlinaTree · 27/05/2017 07:55

Morning all! Let's hope the bank holiday weather treats us well. I had a takeaway last night, totally off plan, totally gorgeous! I've been craving sweet and sour chicken for ages, so had it last night, and the duck pancakes. Yum yum yum.

Back on plan today, not much planned for the weekend so we'll see how it all goes.

ALemonyPea · 27/05/2017 09:11

Foof, what about tomato and garlic, or lemon and rock salt?

Demented, you can do that, I do. Usually not close to WI though as takeaways contain loads of salt so would make you retain water. Just make sure you have at least 5 syns a day and save the rest.

OP posts:
FoofFighter · 27/05/2017 10:55

thanks for the ideas, going to do one with reduced fat pesto and one simply lemon and salt :D

another gorgeous day, didn't sleep well, too hot and too much diet pepsi with ginger yesterday! didn't want breakfast so just had speedy fruit, planning on Heinz lentil dahl (synfree) and salad for lunch, then BBQ later with the mackerel, some potatoes and salad :)
