We are all hiding in here, away from the hot cross buns and Easter eggs.

Welcome all, old and new.

@Lemony well they're 140kcal which is roughly 7 syns and they have iced finger buns on the SW app at 7 syns so I'm sticking with it!

I'm prepping a lot of SW slow cooker meals to freeze today. It's quite enjoyable and as DH is here he can take the baby while I do it. Hopefully that means lots of nice healthy meals this week without slaving over a hot stove. Just defrost and shove in there in the morning!

mutley1 · 27/05/2017 12:20

Hi All I just wanted to check in and say Hi. I've been doing SW since Tuesday!!! I know so long! Trying to eat lots of fruit and veg. Had salmon steak last night with little bit of pesto drizzled over. Can anyone tell me how many syns there are in a little bottle18.75cl of white wine??cos I had one of those last night!!

OrianaBanana · 27/05/2017 13:50

I'd estimate 7 @mutley1

ALemonyPea · 27/05/2017 13:51

Diet Pepsi with ginger sounds yummy. I can't drink Pepsi though, keeps me awake for hours, yet I'm fine with Coke.

Welcome Mutly, your wine is between 6-7 syns, depending on alcohol content. If it was the 10% then 6, 13% is 7.

Raining here today, typical as we were going to BBQ. Will just do an indoors BBQ as already have the food.

My name is Groovee and I have become a clothesaholic...

BasinHaircut · 27/05/2017 21:43

Had my takeaway tonight Blush

Ah well I'm not weighing in this week.

BBQ tomorrow but I'm hosting and it's all relatively SW friendly. Well apart from the drink.

I've had a really lovely day today and I'm really looking forward to tomorrow and so I think these are the times that I shouldn't be worrying about SW and enjoying life. Back on it Monday though.

ALemonyPea · 27/05/2017 22:05

What have you been buying Groovee, or would it be easier to tell us what you've not bought? I must say, I do like clothes shopping now I don't have to shop in the fat section. So much more variety now.

Basin, life is worth enjoying, as long as you get back on plan, it's all good. We had our BBQ today as the rain stopped. Was lovely.

Went to Sainsbury's. Got a wee gingham dress for £7.50. A wee top for my holiday for £6, another day to day top at £2.90! Got some PJ's too!

jazzmin · 28/05/2017 10:22

Hello.... I have enjoyed reading this thread. I joined a class 4 weeks ago and have lost 9lbs. 2 and a half stones to go! I find the classes painfully long but consider them an investment. I think I'm also eating too many crab sticks...

Groovee · 28/05/2017 10:40

Welcome Jazz x

casta i joined slimming world 4 days ago, i can't answer your questions but I too struggle with the 'science' of it, which was done in the 90's, a age ago.

I also believe in a high good fat low carb diet and thats what I was doing before this and lost 8lbs in the 4 weeks but I need the support that a group setting offers.

Avocado high in syns but everyone acknowledges that it's good fat and coconut oil is a mct fat, not a lct so easier to break down and not so likely to be stored as fat.

Despite my head saying the science feels wrong, I'm throwing myself into it and giving it my all.

I've decided that I'm going to go with it as it is at the moment, I don't go over the top with the carbs, haven't been having my usual coconut oil. I personally find fats filling, so if I'm on low fat and low carb I'll be ravenous.

I have seen other people mention that they don't have carbs after lunch

Only 4 days in but I haven't been hungry so that's good.

Oh man, I love paprika pork. Such an easy recipe but so tasty.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 28/05/2017 17:34

That sounds nice is the receipe on the sw website groovee

ALemonyPea · 28/05/2017 17:35

Welcome Jazz.

Cast, I posted on your other thread.

I love Paprika pork as well Groovee, but nobody else in my family likes pork, so I usually make too much so have to eat it all.

I want to put broccoli into a quiche, do I parboil before do you think?

Boatsnack · 28/05/2017 17:55

I lost a lb, it's going in the right direction but God it's slow I was hoping to have hit the first stone by now.

Cast you can still use butter and oil on slimming world you just need to syn it. I don't eat all that differently to how I ate on lchf, I eat less cheese now and I eat more fruit but the rest of my diet is pretty similar. I was nightshift last night so just had breakfast of a 3 egg omelette with mushrooms, tomato and salad. I cooked in olive oil fry light instead of butter but apart from that it's the same as I would have had on lchf. I never eat muller lights and occasionally eat mugshots etc on nightshift.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 28/05/2017 18:15

Just been looking at some of the receipes on sw website, does anyone know if there's a feature where you can save them so they're easy to find in one convenient place please?

The paprika pork looks lovely and the pulled pork

Snools33 · 28/05/2017 18:29

Right, im.99% sure I am joining tommorow! I can very much relate to the posters who are struggling with the "science" of it! But as a precious poster said, I'm going to throw myself into it and see if I can make this work

Groovee · 28/05/2017 19:04

www.slimmingworld.co.uk/recipes/paprika-pork.aspx

I print them off. I wish no one else liked it lol

ALemonyPea · 28/05/2017 19:47

Don't think there is Minnie, but you could print them off or take a screen shot.

Love pulled pork. There was a Chinese one in the magazine a few months ago which is lovely as well.

If you fancy something, type slimming world and whatever it is you want, and you'd be amazed how many recipes pop up.

Two chubby cubs is a great site for recipes.

Thanks lemony, screen shots is what I had been doing but phone times out to frequently and it annoys me, Blush been saying for years I need a printer.

Dh doesn't usually eat pork but he'll be having it twice next week

Boatsnack · 28/05/2017 20:52

That sound lovely groovee I seem to be putting smoked paprika in everything just now. Although dd has decided her favourite dinner is a chicken and bacon pasta dish made with quark. I think she's had it 3 times this week.
