positive that is amazing! Well done on your weight loss, that is a huge achievement. I completely understand how happy you must have felt in the changing room when the jeans fitted. I am a size 18/20 and at my heaviest was a 20/22. One of my big motivations, aside from my health, is to be able to shop in shops that don't have plus size clothing - shops that go up to a 16 or 18 as at the moment nothing will fit so I don't even go in to them.

your don't give up. Staying the same might not have been the result you wanted but if you continue the way you have been then you will get a loss next week. I know it can be disheartening especially when you expect a loss.

BasinHaircut · 09/03/2017 08:21

PA that's amazing!

calzone don't make me get the stick out!

bastard keep going!

Welcome agnes do you need any help?

frouby I haven't tried to replicate carbonara exactly but I use quark with pesto for an alternative. Mixed with a load of chopped up smoked salmon. Delicious. The trick is to take it off the heat before you add the quark otherwise it separates. You also can't use too much so it is quite dry but add a bit of the starchy pasta water back in to loosen it up. Make sure the quark has been out of the fridge a while before too otherwise it does cool the dish down quite a lot. I don't mind that but some people like thier food hot!

I have continued to be a bit slack this week unfortunately but am roughly on plan. Friday-Monday will be write-offs because of the birthday and weekend away but am getting my second gym visit of the week in later on.

Groovester · 09/03/2017 08:41

Quick stop in as wanted to check on em - so pleased for you!
And pa that is AMAZING! You are doing so well.

latedecember1963 · 09/03/2017 10:32

Awake early this morning so decided to use the time to devise my own version of the SW food diary to give me more space to write in ingredients having been told by my consultant that generic comments such as "home made pasta &veg bake" aren't good enough.
B'fast today was melon, banana and 0% Total yoghurt. Lunch will be homemade lentil & tomato soup. Haven't decided on tea yet.

Groovee · 09/03/2017 10:41

Philadelphia lightest or low low mature cheddar in a tub melted into pasta makes a nice creamy sauce. You can use it as your HEA. Got a really bad cold. Hate feeling so tired x

TheImprobableGirl · 09/03/2017 10:55

Goodness what a couple of days losers! em that must have been a scare but babies are resilient little things- I used to work in a maternity office, have they started calling you a geriatric mother yet?! It's so cringey- thoughts are with you xx (sorry mumsnet for my x's)

Well done on other ups and more so downs! I need to give March a kick up the arse I think. Dp won £1500 on the horses yesterday- a real fluke! So we have booked a lovely holiday abroad ( for the first time in years) in October, screw haven and screw the bailiffs Grin I've been listening to the song off trolls- get back up again, and coupled with a bit of sunshine feel really motivated again!
Off swimming in half an hour so plan to do 2km if time allows, not sure how that'll go with the 2 year old.
Here is dinner from last night- bought the light bite recipe book and made curried chicken drumsticks, very tasty indeed. Going to try Chinese chicken thighs tomorrow if anybody knows a good recipe?

Plan for today:
B-omelette with spinach, 1/2 HEA cheese, ham and peppers
S- fruit
L- carrot and coriander soup
S- light and free yoghurt and maybe some 'breakfast topper' (frozen fruit bits I found in Tesco but need to find out if they're free!
D- soya burgers, chips and salad

Massive well done PA. I was a size 22 when I started, and now a 12/14 and it certainly boosts being able to shop in a normal clothes shop rather than a plus size shop.

Harv, this is the first time I've stuck to a diet and nearly at goal. I've lost 6 stone so far, since April last year, and I found that going to group with a friend who has stuck with it has helped, and the fact I've been able to have an operation I needed as well has helped. Don't aim big, aim for half a stone at a time and go from there. If you look at the end goal, it's scary.

When I add quark to pasta, I add it right at the end, after everything else has been added. It doesn't need much heat.

Calzone, when I started SW, I joined the support threads, and you were my thinsperation then. You did so well getting to goal, your food diaries were amazing and your positivity was great. You need to get back there, you can do it!

I've had 3 triangles of brownie today Blush

Fuck it, it's my birthday. notes this is where it all went wrong last year

Im 100% getting back on it once the festivities are over this time though. I think we are in such a better place in life (i.e. DS is older and easier, my kitchen is now a nice place to be etc) plus I'm in a routine of meal plan Tuesday, online shop weds and delivery on sat/sun for following week that I don't feel like I'm going out of control even if I am being slack right now.

The surge of all of the Facebook groups with recipes and ideas helps too. Didn't get into all of that last time.

ClashCityRocker · 09/03/2017 18:21

Happy birthday basin!

Yup my FB seems to be all SW at the moment.

Wi at seven, why oh why do I always feel bloated before wi?!

noodlezoodle · 09/03/2017 18:34

Frouby I cook the bacon, garlic and veg (if I'm using it) in a frying pan while I boil the pasta, and I beat the egg and parmesan together. Then when the pasta has finished cooking, I drain most of the water off but leave a tablespoon of starchy water per person still in the pan. Then turn the heat off the bacon/garlic/veg and add the pasta and water, then quickly pour in the egg/parmesan mix and stir like crazy - it's off the heat, but the heat of the pan and pasta will still cook the egg.

It is a bit high risk because if you don't stir quickly enough or the pan is too hot you get a bit of a scrambled egg effect which looks a bit grim although it usually still tastes ok!

If I can't be bothered with any of this I just use half fat creme fraiche and count the syns - I think it's only 1 syn per tablespoon and a tbsp per person is enough really.

Groovester · 09/03/2017 18:59

Happy birthday basin

Just about to leave for class. I realise that I'm about to come across as a nutter here but my friend (who does SW with me) is winding me up. Her crime? No contributions to the slimmer of the week basket and (for the second time) nothing to add to the taster table. I think if you stay to class then you enter yourself for slimmer of the week so you should contribute something. The same with taster night. She could buy a bag of carrot sticks surely? Am I being mean? I understand some occasions when you've been busy or forget etc or if you don't stay for image therapy but this is now a week in week out habit for her.

LavenderRains · 09/03/2017 19:19

PA I know what you mean. I'm so used to going to 'fatshops' I can't really get used to buying normal sizes. I still think I'm the same size, but everyday at work now someone mentions my weight loss. I don't mind tho!Grin just need to keep it off! I've never lost this much before and I would never have dreamt that I could!
Today's menu;
B; toast and butter (hexB)
D; jacket potato with cheese and salad (hexA)
T; mushroom, pepper and tomato omelette.
mango and strawberries with yogurt.
Syns are butter and some meringues later.

ClashCityRocker · 09/03/2017 19:51

groovester that would irritate me too. I must admit I forgot one week and had a terrible time worrying about what I'd do if I won sotw that week - I'd feel dead guilty accepting it.

3lb off for me! A relief after the half pound gain last week. And got my club ten award, too.

lilacmamacat · 09/03/2017 20:01

Hello everyone, SW newbie here.
Started halfway through Sunday and up until this morning was finding it pretty doable, although I am really missing milk (used to drink probably a litre a day) and sweet things after meals, (although now I've got marshmallows and peppermint creams so they'll be small and ok syn-wise).

My problem is today: I'm really irritable and can't concentrate. Had to go out for work and take some photos of a project and couldn't read the map properly, couldn't understand my satnav and went 10 miles in the wrong direction... All things I can normally do do with my eyes shut. It was a beautiful day, I was walking around the countryside, and was completely unmoved - usually I'd be raving about the pheasants and snowdrops blah blah. Haven eaten 32 syns today because I couldn't thinkg straight when I was trying to buy lunch. Can't even bloody type this properly.

Did anyone else get this? Please tell me it gets better.

Frouby · 09/03/2017 20:20

Thanks for that Noodle, will try it next time. Dcs and dp love carbonara so I tend to do it once a fortnight as a quick tea.

Just had the most beautiful tea. Slow cooked a piece of brisket (£6 odd from aldi) with a layer of onions in bottom of slow cooker. Had it with mash with sauted leeks through it (like colcanan mash), savoy cabbage, broccoli and green beans. Made an onion gravy using the onions from bottom of slow cooker. Was absolutely lush and worth the syns for the gravy.

Am stuffed now though and still need my b choice!

emwithme · 09/03/2017 20:46

There were 53 people through our scales today (I did pay so I know this!). The SOTW basket only had a few things in it and there were SEVEN things on the taster table. It really gets my goat when people don't bring anything, even if it's just a tub of cherry tomatoes, or grapes (or like I did today, some M&S mini meringues).

Over the past two weeks I have gained 5 lbs Blush I need to get my head back in the game, otherwise I will be a beached whale, rather than an elegant pregnant person with a beachball up their jumper there's no fucking chance of that but right now all I fancy is greasy white carbs. So tonight I had white toast with peanut butter (before my assessment at college) and then fish, chips and curry sauce (after the assessment...it's tradition)

PA That is fantastic . You have worked so hard and deserve it.

Calzone I will get the stick and I know how to use it

Basin HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Syns consumed on one's birthday don't count . FACT.

ALemonyPea · 09/03/2017 20:53

Happy birthday Basin.

Well done losers, and on your club 10 Clash. Huge achievement.

Lilac, you're only in your first week, takes a good month to get in the swing of it, don't beat yourself up. Just have 5 syns a day now til WI. next time you go out, plan your meals ahead, but don't be afraid to eat out and ask for alterations to the menu.

BasinHaircut · 09/03/2017 21:25

Thanks All, it's not actually my birthday until Sunday though Blush. I've just started early Grin

Groovester · 09/03/2017 21:27

Thanks em and clash - good to know it's not just me. I'm not going to make an issue out of it or fall out with her or anything but it does grate a little.

3lbs off for me tonight and I won the Biggest Loser. I'm a certified loser. Yay! 3stone 11.5lbs off. Never lost this amount before and I feel fantastic. I love SW! Grin

Rickandmorty · 09/03/2017 21:28

Can I just ask SWers how you change your target? I've set mine online and raised it by 2lbs as I have spent months hovering 2lbs above my target so figured I should just call it quits! Do I also need to tell my consultant?

ALemonyPea · 09/03/2017 21:57

You text your consultant Rick, or the person who weighs you, the it'll be all official.

OP posts:
LavenderRains · 10/03/2017 07:32

Well done groovester 🌟you have overtaken me! I've lost 3.10
But you are right, it feels good!
lilac in my first week I had a horrendous headache and felt as tho I was gonna keel over. It was probably withdrawal from eating so much crap in my case! It most certainly gets better, stick with it. Have some nice fruit if your stuck. I became addicted to mango. Good luck!

ClashCityRocker · 10/03/2017 07:38

lilac are you eating enough? I found in my first week I switched into 'diet' mode and ate far too little and was feeling pretty ropey. The great thing about the plan is that if you're hungry there's always something you can eat"

Well done groovester!

FaithAgain · 10/03/2017 08:13

em don't be too hard on yourself. You've had an incredibly stressful week and you're growing a person! Once you're past the first trimester you'll fancy a more balanced diet.

lilac what have you been eating? It can be an adjustment changing your diet, especially if (like me) you were consuming lots of calories before. Like clash, I'd suggest eating more. Fill up on free foods - fruit, veggies - have plenty of free carbs and make sure you get plenty of protein. Some people can't believe I've lost weight eating so much!

Nice work Groovester!
