My first weigh in this morning. Very pleased with 3lb loss, I feel like I have eaten loads and not given up alcohol , I used all my syns bar 15, some days I had more than 15 (that was the day I drank 3 large glasses of wine Blush) but cut back the next couple of days.

I've read through your posts here and appreciate that approach might not work as I move on... but for now I'm happy!

Just had my shopping delivered so I'm off to put the hot cross buns and tiger rolls out of my eyeline.

OwlinaTree · 11/04/2017 08:52

calzone, there's nothing worse than a sts or gain when you have stuck to plan, I find it so hard to be positive about the week ahead. I don't really have any great advice other than track everything you eat. Stick with it!

I often find I have a two week delay with weight loss, so if I have a bad week, it takes two good weeks to get back to losing again. I expect I will gain after holiday and it will take two weeks after that for me to start to lose again. That is my pattern. Very annoying!

Weigh in for me tonight, really need that 2lb! 2.5lb would get me into the next stone which would be fab, but I'm not expecting that, just really want the 2lb!!! Then only 1lb to my 2.5 stone, but with Easter weekend that doesn't look likely for next week!

BasinHaircut · 11/04/2017 09:03

Good luck for later owlina

Welcome side, you can do this! Are you ok with the plan or do you need any help to get started?

In totally non-SW related news I am in a world of pain today. For the last few days I've had a gradually increasing pain in both hip joints. Today I can barely walk and almost turned around before I got to the end of my road this morning on my way to work but I kept going and now I'm on the train (and very late!). Should have probably gone home because I am so uncomfortable even sitting down. No idea what this is?!

Today's food will be:
B: weetabix and milk (HEXA&B)
L: leftover pulled pork with potato wedges, sugar snap peas and coleslaw (2 syns)
D: mayflower vegetable and lamb curry with rice and cauliflower (3syns). Might roast the cauliflower if I can be arsed later but will probably just steam.
Snacks will be banana, strawberries and an apple if I need them.

LavenderRains · 11/04/2017 09:05

Welcome sprouts Flowers I started at almost 19 stone and have lost 4 stone in 5 months. I'm actually amazed as I never thought I'd stick with it but I enjoy it!
Of course I have good and bad weeks but as others say, we all need to live a life. I know easter weekend I won't be on plan but I also won't scoff chocolate like previous years.
You will get lots of help and tips on here. Good luck! Are you going to club or doing it online?

SideOrderofSprouts · 11/04/2017 09:16

Thank you all x I'm going to be doing it at home with the books myself as I live in jersey and have no
Meetings here and am not allowed to access the online!

SideOrderofSprouts · 11/04/2017 09:17

We get paid this
Time
Next week so will be doing it on a very limited budget for the first week. I cook from
Scratch most nights anyway it's just adjusting some of the things I cook and also stop gorging on crisps and chocolate and biscuits! And cheese

LavenderRains · 11/04/2017 09:19

sprouts that sucks! Why should jersey people miss out?!
We can help (or try!) With any questions you may have along your journey.

SideOrderofSprouts · 11/04/2017 09:28

It's to do with vat or something. It's very frustrating! All we have here is weightwatchers which I struggle with with family meals and mlm weight loss things :(. Thank you though I am sure I will take you up on your offers of help!

SideOrderofSprouts · 11/04/2017 09:30

Can I just ask. Are there any syn free salad dressings? Apart from salad cream

00100001 · 11/04/2017 09:39

sprouts
I use normal malt vinegar or balsamic Vinegar (not glaze)
Hellman's fat free vinaigrette is also free :)

emwithme · 11/04/2017 09:41

Welcome Sprouts!

Well done losers and good luck to anyone weighing today.

I need to get my head out of my arse and stop eating shit just because it's there (and even when it's not there, I buy it). I am about half a stone heavier than my target so am paying again but need to get back into target range. It's so not going to happen this week because hot cross buns, easter biscuits and bunnies are going to happen instead.

I am hoping for a properly on-plan day today, I've been off work for four days (lovely long weekend but it's just not long enough) so DH and I went out for a lovely boozy lunch on Friday which turned into a bucket-of-gin-in-the-garden evening (and pizza), and then lunch with some friends yesterday which - although sober - had much cheese and chocolate. AND IT WAS BLOODY DELICIOUS.

But it's not doing my waistline many favours and I'm starting to not fit in my clothes properly, so I need to rein it back in, but (see above) hot cross buns! Easter biscuits! Bunnies!!!

Today's plan:

B: Eggy muffins
L: Leek & potato soup, apple, pear, satsumas
D: Salmon and mediterranean vegetables
HEA: Milk
HEB: Hifi bars

00100001 · 11/04/2017 09:43

also - if you measure your dressing, you can have things like the Hellmann's Balsamic Vinaigrette Salad Dressing which would only be 1/2 syn for 15ml - so wouldn't break the Syn Bank!

If you work out a basic calculation of 1 syn per 20 cals, you'll get a good idea of what is what :)

calzone · 11/04/2017 10:07

Thanks Groovee......I think I do that already but I've decided to go back to basics and write a food diary, drink much more water and up my speed foods.

If I get despondent, I will quit which is the last thing I should do.

maygirl · 11/04/2017 10:29

Back from holiday and scared to face the scales , my clothes are so tight. Thought I'd been OK food wise, but had Wine every night and was very lazy!
Got 2 events end of May that I want to feel slimmer for and will hopefully motivate me!
Good luck to all weighing in today.

Can you get the SW magazine in Jersey Sprouts? I love all the recipes and food updates .

Shamoffour · 11/04/2017 11:37

With salad dressings anything under 40cals per 100mls is free. That used to be the case anyway I presume it's still the same. They only one that is is the hellmans one I think it tastes a bit chemically to me though)
I use 14 sprays of olive oil (1 syn) a teaspoon of balsamic vinegar and salt.

It's weigh in day for me today and after a roller coaster couple of weeks and a week where I didn't weigh I'm fully expecting a gain. I'm determined to have one blooming day on plan today though, (horse bolted?!)

"It's so not going to happen this week because hot cross buns, easter biscuits and bunnies are going to happen instead. "

Preparing to fail! :(

Work out the syns you will want to use on those things, and use this week to do a weekly syn value. so use the 105 you have weekly take away the food you want.

1 Hot Cross Bun = 10
Biscuit = 3?
Bunny- if you mean a chocolate one - they must be around 28

so lets round up and says you will use 45 syns for Easter treats this week.

So 105-45 = 60 syns. So you can have 8.5 syns a day :)

I'll bet if you stick to plan and work out your syns that way - you can still lose weight!

00100001 · 11/04/2017 11:55

does someone need to start a new thread before we run out (30 messages to go!)

SideOrderofSprouts · 11/04/2017 12:12

Binary yes lol.

Sprouts that looks amazing. I'm jealous of your pepper. Pepper causes reflux and I miss so much.

YoureMyWifeNowDave · 11/04/2017 12:28

Angry 1.5lbs on for me today Angry I'm not even sure why as I have been pretty much on plan all week (just one day where I think I may have gone slightly over on syns but have been under every other day)

I'm blaming hormones as my period started yesterday and I think last weeks 3.5lb loss was a bit skewed as I had had an upset tum the day before weigh in!

Oh well I will just have to be careful this week and hopefully get back on my losing streak

ALemonyPea · 11/04/2017 12:42

2.5 off for me. Chuffed my weight is finally moving again. So took the opportunity to have a hot cross bun, synned of course.

Commiserations to those who've gained or STS. My one piece of advice, write everything down that passes your lips, also weigh and measure your A and B choices.

Em, you're being too hard on yourself. Just let go until after Easter, eat drink and enjoy yourself and then attack it like you know you can.

Welcome Sprout, good luck.

Dh and the kids are having chicken korma for tea with rice. I'm currently marinating chicken strips in fat free yoghurt with medium curry powder to then cook and have with rice. Followed by lots of fruit
