Well done Lavender. I didn't win in our group, the person who did has lost over seven stone, well deserved.

You see, I don't think I deserve it at all. I just happen to have lost the most in our little group. And how can it be biggest loser 2017 when it's only just March? !Confused

Hi all, I've been reading these threads since I rejoined SW for the sixth time a few weeks ago. I just wanted to rant/ask for some advice because I'm afraid I'm falling off the bandwagon already!

I lost 1lb in my first week which I was pleased with as I was away for the weekend and despite my initial best intentions I didn't even try to be on plan. My second week I was 100% on plan and lost 4lbs (although I usually weigh in at 5:30pm on a Tuesday and couldn't make it so weighed at 9:30am Wednesday, and I'm worried the early morning weigh in was too generous!!). I was on plan after weigh in and had a night out last night - I had eight gin and slimline tonics for 32 syns, but then lost all willpower and had a chipper and a full fat coke!! Sad I woke up this morning determined to put it behind me and had a syn free breakfast of yogurt and loads of speedy fruit but I'm in my parents for the weekend and ate somewhere in the region of 47 chicken nuggets my mother had cooked for my nieces Blush. I don't even feel hungover so I don't know why I'm sabotaging myself like this!! I have friends coming to stay with me for St. Patricks day so next weekend will be dreadful in terms of syns and I'm away the following weekend. I think I'm just worried about having a few consecutive weeks of gains and then throwing in the towel (which has happened on all my other attempts at SW). Any advice on keeping motivated if that's the case?

I'm sorry for the essay, my family just tell me I don't need to lose any weight and not to stress but I needed to air my frustrations somewhere!! I've found these threads so informative so I hope you don't mind my rambling word vomit!!

Hi wet and welcome. Be reassured you're not alone. I highly recommend reading the book <a class="break-all" href="//www.amazon.co.uk/Brain-over-Binge-Conventional-Recovered/dp/0984481702?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21" rel="nofollow noindex" target="_blank">brain over binge which is great for challenging a binge habit. It's really helped me. I'm feeling a bit wobbly at the moment so I'm planning to read it again.

Groovee that sounds tasty.

Well done losers! 😊

WI this morning and lost 1.5lb! A total of 9lb in 5 weeks so chuffed 😁 just had a very 'big & naughty' treat lunch but back on it now 😁 now I know what I'm doing it all seems easy and pretty much straight forward to!

Here's a question for you all.. what's your favourite slimming world meal?

Happy Saturday everyone 😁

Really well done everyone! I would go for it lavender- it will be some nice pictures to look back on if nothing else! Grin
Had a definitely medium day today- but I have a hangover of death so I'm quite proud of what I've achieved! Not much speed though...
B- salt and vinegar squares...
S- bacon and egg wholemeal roll
S-cheese and onion squares...
L-plain pasta and 20g reduced Fat cheese
S-2 satsumas and a pear
S- cooked roast beef slice
D- fajita chicken with peppers and onions, couscous and chickpeas!

Too much to still lose considering I only had 50 syns to play with and had a bottle of wine and chicken fried rice&bbq sauce from the Chinese yesterday!!

Welcome Wet. Don't beat yourself up for falling off the wagon. Write today off, start anew tomorrow and have a maximum of 5 syns a day til your next WI.

Re SP days, some people have losses on the,, others don't. I never have. I did a whole fucking week of them and only lost 2.5lb. I've known people to lose 7-10lbs doing it for a full week. They're good to help get you in the right frame of mind if you're struggling with keeping it together, and sometimes do them if I want pizza as double the B choice.

My favourite SW meals are those that don't feel like diet food. Tonight I had salmon with chow mein noodles, totally syn free and delicious.

A pound and a bit off this week, and I'm slightly disappointed because I've been very on plan, but I think I've also put on quite a bit of muscle this week so I'm trying not to be discouraged.

Frouby I made carbonara last night and it was a COMPLETE disaster, very scrambled eggy, so I'm giving up on it for now! Mind you, Pinch of Nom say they are posting a delicious syn-free Carbonara recipe later today so I might give that a go. I can't remember who on here mentioned Pinch of Nom but the recipes look great - I haven't tried them yet as this week's meal planning was all done but I can't wait to try the crispy chilli beef.

Lemony I remember your BIL has form for this - can't believe he's still going on at you after all your fantastic progress. Hope he's not too much of an arse this weekend. Beating him to death with a courgette might also count as "body magic" (ugh, hate that phrase) so it's a win/win!

Hi all,

Loving reading all the meal ideas. It's really helping me.

For the first time in a LONG time I am going to be going to bed on a Saturday night without eating shit all day - I have stuck to plan today and I actually feel good about it and not that I am missing out.

Today has been a good day
B - two weetabix, unsweetened soya
L - past n sauce
D - small bowl lentil soup and then an (almost) syn free version of amatriciana for my main, with broccoli and a small slice of garlic bread (5 and not worth it).

I didn't have a good day yesterday - was at a work conference where lunch was provided. I was delivering training and was nervous so didn't even think about food until lunchtime. I didn't go mad but was way off plan. Met friends for dinner and I chose something fairly healthy compared to the other items on the menu, but again off plan.

I'm not sure how much it will impact my weigh in on Tuesday. Have been on track every other day.

Hope everyone is well. Well done to everyone who has lost, amazing

I have woken up today feeling like shite. I have a rotten cold, my skin is crap (huge spot on chin) and my hair won't go right. I want to sit on the sofa and eat crap all day.

However, I have made Choc mousse with yoghurt and Options for later and have got breakfast muffins in the oven. Then heading to a farm shop to buy some nice veg.

I ate my body-weight in cheese straws yesterday, got the world's best hugs from my best friends mum, and had lovely cuddles with lots of little ones (best friend's son's first birthday), with a lot of people I haven't seen since best friend's wedding 18 months (and 3 stone) ago. And now I am refocused to not gain a zillion lbs during this pregnancy.

Had lovely brunch of grumbled eggs with baby mushrooms and cheery tomatoes, and dinner tonight will be steak (once DH is home from his weekend trying not to lose Army Cadets on the Mendips Grin ) with jacket spud and salad.

Have done my breakfast prep for the week, got soup out of the freezer for tomorrow's lunch and am heading for an afternoon on the settee catching up on Bones.

I CAN DO THIS

Couple of desserts if anyone misses them as much as I do, number 1 is from the SW optimising book so you've probably seen it already and number 2 is my own concoction:-

  1. 1 caramel snack-a-jack topped with plain fat free yogurt and topped with sliced banana =2 1/2 sins.

  2. Hartleys' sugar free jelly made up in a jug, and cooled but not set, pour into small lidded pots (I used old baby weaning pots), leave about 1/2 cm space from top, drop in small teaspoonfuls of fat free yogurt but do not stir, leave it as blobs. Add lid and freeze. Makes a great frozen pudding. I made 6 pots from a packet of jelly so as an 11.5 gram sachet is only 1and 1/2 syns that makes it 1/4 of a syn per pot.

Grumbled eggs = scrambled eggs. So named by (now 11) then 2 year old niece.

Cheery tomatoes = cherry tomatoes. I should not write shopping lists in a hurry, I end up with all manner of mis-spellings (although I do release them into the wild in the hope that one turns up on here), and some of them stick.

Hi All hoping to find some motivation. I've been doing sw for over 2 years and have hit target but for the past 10 months or so just keep bouncing in and out of range (upwards not downwards). I'm currently 4 lb off my target and was so good the last few weeks and determined to get to my target by next week as I'm going away but at weigh in I maintained. I was so annoyed I've been bingeing since which I know is not the answer! I think I just need to go back to basics but then I wonder about the theory of eating such big portions and being able to continue to lose weight. I know that once I get to target I could maintain it and allow the odd treat at a weekend. I wonder if I'm daft getting stressed about 4lb and sending myself into a bad eating cycle.
Not sure if this makes sense or if anyone else is in I similar situation. I think sometimes I just get fed up of thinking about food. I'm a fat person working hard to stay in a size 12. If I could eat crap all the time and get away with it I'd love too! Does anyone else get like this?

Hi everyone

Feeling much better. Have my head in the game. Iceland sell sliced lamb in mint gravy which is free. So that with roasties and veg for tea. Got unicorn carrots too.

Lemony, will he be gone soon?

Well done on losses. I took a photo today which brought home to me my weight loss!

Grumbled eggs are now officially a thing in this household 😄.
Got my next weigh in tomorrow morning. Eaten a lot of soup this week. Have made a cake ready for DS 2's birthday tomorrow. He has requested lasagne for his b'day tea tomorrow evening so have made a batch of sauce with Quorn & lots of veg. Will just need to syn bechemel sauce and count cheese as HE. They've kindly agreed to forgo garlic bread so I won't be tempted.

Welcome Girls. You've described what I suspect I'll be like when I get to target, a fat lass struggling to stay a size 12. I hope I can maintain as well as you. 4lb isn't much and I'm sure you will lose it soon. Try not to let your binge get to you, try to start afresh tomorrow. How many syns are you having?

BIL has gone. Thank god for that! He's such a pain in the arse, fabricates stories just so he can hear the sound of his own voice. His wife is always ill, she's got x or y or z wrong with her, now she probably needs a hysterectomy but won't go to the doctors about it, coincidentally I've just had one. They're both weirdos.
