He is loads better Lemony. He only had about 20 spots and was just a bit off rather than poorly. One night up itching a few times but other than that he was fine. Was going to send him to nursery today but a new spot came up yesterday so he couldn't go.

He is currently emptying my pan cupboard and using the pan lids as shields. Sigh.

I am too weak from Davina to stop him pmsl.

diddlybo · 06/04/2017 12:11

Thank you Basin x

Emmageddon · 06/04/2017 13:38

Hello everyone, weigh-in this morning and 5.5lbs off, that's 1st 13lb since Jan 3rd. I am chuffed to bits. I have been doing 3 SP days, 3 free and easy days and 1 day off for the last week, and it only bloody works Grin

I have 3 days off work now, and I always struggle without the routine of work (also I can't sit and stuff my face at work, I only get a 30 minute lunch break) so I am looking for ways to occupy my hands that doesn't involve putting food in my mouth Grin

emwithme · 06/04/2017 15:38

Half on today, bit pissed off, but it is shark week (already...yay...at least my body can do one thing properly) and I am 90% chocolate.

This week is mostly about spending time with DH (we're both off work tomorrow and Monday) and having nice meals out and reconnecting "as a couple" even though the wanky thought that induces makes me want to barf so there's not going to be much Food Optimising going on.

However, I have a plan to get this half stone back off, and come Easter Monday I will be On It Like The Proverbial Bonnet.

YoureMyWifeNowDave · 06/04/2017 15:58

I feel like I could eat a scabby elephant today preferably one made out of chocolate though

Have just tried to fill up on fruit but it's not really hitting the spot, I'm just so hungry Sad so I'm posting here to try and stop me raiding DD's Easter eggs

LavenderRains · 06/04/2017 16:35

Good luck today everyone if you are weighing In.
I'm writing today off
B; cooked breakfast in a restaurant, even had fried bread Blush
D; Mango and yogurt
T; Going to a birthday party and having
Chinese and birthday cakeGrin
Back on it tomorrow....

Saw an old friend yesterday, last saw her before I lost 4 stone. She was amazed and said I looked so different. Was nice to have a compliment.

ajb1 · 06/04/2017 16:53

I lost 2 stones last Aug-Oct. and then just stopped as I was 'happy enough'...even though I was still 2 stones from my target.

I've managed to easily maintain from Oct-now, and hubby has said he wants to drop some pounds too, so we're currently on day 2 as a family. Kids never notice as we always cook from scratch, and they just get the same but with a sprinkle of cheese, some bread on the side or real butter in a jacket spud etc. to stop them losing weight when they have no need to.

Hoping it'll be done and dusted in 3 months like last time, but not fussed as long as it's done by end of July. We're off on holiday in August and have a wedding in Aug. and early Sept. & I'm hoping to be 'photo happy' for all of the above and not feeling like I only look ok with a good pose and the kids in front of my legs! lol.

Meals today:
Bacon medallions, scrambled eggs, baked beans, grilled toms, grilled mushrooms & grapes.
Chicken, lettuce and onion w/m roll (hexb), cucumber slices and alpen light bar (3s)
S/W carbonara with chicken, bacon and mushrooms, with side salad (lettuce, red onion, chopped toms, cucumber and chopped corridander)
Pudding tonight as a school holiday treat - strawberries, raspberries and the leftover creme fraiche
Snacks: banana, caramel Dowe Egberts.

Right, now off to read through the last few pages of this thread as more motivation. :)

LavenderRains · 06/04/2017 17:06

Forgot to add what I usually have for snacks;
Mango (I love it!!)
Yogurt
Raspberries
Mini meringues (1 syn each )
Hi fi bar
Melon
Curly wurly

I don't crave savoury things so tend to use syns for sweet stuff

OrianaBanana · 06/04/2017 19:14

Writing off this week... weigh in tomorrow, I'll take the gain on the chin and start again with a food diary.

Hereslookingatyoukid · 06/04/2017 21:53

Thanks to everybody for snack ideas! I've had snack a jacks before so good to know they are quite low syn! Just need something to have with a cuppa that isn't a kg bar of galaxy! 😀 I'm so chuffed with this way of eating so far though, first weigh in tonight and 4.5lbs off! Feel in control of my choices for the first time in ages! Thanks to everyone for ideas and inspiration 😀

Groovee · 06/04/2017 22:44

I like the walker sunbites popcorn. Sweet and salty is 2.5syns

isaulte · 06/04/2017 23:03

Brand new first time SWer here, joined online on Tuesday after seeing some photos and realising I've been hiding behind loose clothing!
However, had a prearranged night out tonight and had 3 x large glasses of wine! Matched obviously with a bare salad and grilled chicken... but hoping that not having any syns at all for the first 2 days will outdo the 30 tonight. Not the most auspicious of starts but loving the food and getting back to the style of eating I know is healthy!

ALemonyPea · 07/04/2017 07:45

Welcome newbies. Well done on the loss Here.

Isaulte, try to have at least 5 syns a day even if you're clawing back from a night out.

How is everyone sticking to 100% April? I'm doing well so far, no blips or picking.

OP posts:
FaithAgain · 07/04/2017 07:46

Fantastic start heres Grin I like popcorn as a snack (Metcalfe's skinny popcorn is 3 1/2 syns for an 18g bag).

Welcome isaulte. It is all about balance. I had a booze night out at Christmas and still lost because I stuck to plan the rest of the week.

BasinHaircut · 07/04/2017 07:48

Welcome isalute, you will be OK with that as long as you stick to your syns until weigh day.

Good day yesterday, probably went over on syns but within weekly allowance as underused earlier in the week. I'm finding it tough to stay focused for the whole week these days so am considering the idea of allowing myself a weekly cheat meal to hopefully keep me on track the rest of the week and look forward to. Who else does that?

BasinHaircut · 07/04/2017 07:50

I know that doesn't fit within the concept of 100% on it for April but I'm thinking of ways I can get as close to it as possible Blush

ALemonyPea · 07/04/2017 08:01

In the early days I did, Basin, but now if I have even one cheat without syning it, it affects my weight, very annoying.

OP posts:
FaithAgain · 07/04/2017 08:07

I'm reaching the point where my weight loss has slowed down (I'm about 1/2 stone from a 'healthy' BMI) and I can't be as flexible with my syns as I had been either.

isaulte · 07/04/2017 08:13

Thanks for the welcome! Apart from the wine last night (and regretting that this morning after only eating salad leaves too!), I'm doing OK I think- will take on board the 5 syns at least a day tip.

If nothing else, doing this has made me realise just how much I normally pick during the day; a chip (or 10!) off the tray here, a slice of toast there. Have got into some very bad habits.

I'm also horrified to see how many Syns Kettle chips are..... I normally make (well, assemble) burgers for family dinner on a Friday and put kettle chips on the side, can probably finish off 3/4 of the bag. No wonder I need to do Slimming World now!!!!

BasinHaircut · 07/04/2017 10:14

Cheers lemony, I think I might have to try it. I think I can be stricter with myself at other times if I know I'm getting a treat. I'm good as gold on Sunday and Monday as I know I'm weighing in Monday evening. Tuesdays I'm usually ok too as I'm spurred on my Monday's weigh in. It's thurs/fri/sat that I struggle with.

BasinHaircut · 07/04/2017 10:16

And it's dinner I struggle with rather than the whole day. Work days are fine as I take lunch most days and breakfast is always weetabix which I do enjoy. I can resist the biscuit box and snack only on fruit.

At 9pm if DS won't go to sleep that's when I need something off plan!

OrianaBanana · 07/04/2017 15:10

1lb on for me, I expected a gain so I'll take that gladly and get it off this week. So for today:

B: weetabix minis and milk (HExA1 and B1), coffee
L: Naked Noodle teriyaki (1), 2 x clementines, two babybels (HExA2), half a banana, no sugar squash, hifi light (HExB2)
D: Either a SW ready meal or the remains of the Ocean pie (0.5) plus broccoli and mushrooms

S: Half a tiffin from Costa (11.5), apple, tea, flat white (HExA3), carrot batons

12.5 or maybe 13 syns Smile

BasinHaircut · 07/04/2017 15:17

You'll easily get that off again next week oriana.

Shamoffour · 07/04/2017 16:27

Hello all, well done all the losers and welcome to the new peopleSmile

I've not really been on for a bit. Good news is that looks like everything is going to be fine for dp thank goodness. It really shook both of us up. Food has not been great. I've not eaten loads but what I have eaten hasn't been great. We also went out last night and drank wine. I had a a peek on the scales this morning and it looked like I put about a pound on. I'm hoping his wasn't down to dehydration!! I expected more.
I've not been back on it 100% today but I've been much better. My food shop is coming first thing in the morning so I'm planning to get back on it tomorrow.

So much for being on it 100% in AprilBlush

BasinHaircut · 07/04/2017 17:02

That's great news sham. I think we can let you off not being 100% on plan this week.
